Chapter 23 General Attack
New York, a financial company on Wall Street.
SHIELD level 7 agent Phil Colson followed a blonde woman in a round-neck suit and wearing black women's patent leather shoes, passing through the busy white-collar workers, with high-frequency typing and phone calls coming one after another.
The woman led him into an empty private office and closed the door with his backhand after he came in. The door sign read "Bill Water", which was the owner of the office.
This is an office with plenty of light and exquisite decoration. Agent Colson has played his professional expertise since entering the door. He swept through the entire room inch by inch with his sharp eyes, not missing any details, just like a well-trained hunting dog trying to smell any suspicious breath with his nose.
But after about two minutes of observation, he had to admit a fact... There seemed to be no part of the office that could be called suspicious.
It looked so ordinary. The table was stacked with well-organized stacks of documents, and a bunch of keys were left in the keyhole of the desk. The windowsill was filled with potted plants and cute seahorse accessories on the filing cabinet. On the wall were medals that Bill Water, the owner of the office, had won every year, and it seemed that the gentleman was a model employee.
Agent Colson even found Bill Water and his colleagues having a dinner and a party photo on the cabinet.
He turned his head and asked the woman around him: "How long have you known Mr. Wat?"
The woman recalled: "At least... it's been two years since he came here to work. He is very low-key, but he is serious and responsible in his work. He is often commended and is a good old man. Everyone likes him very much."
After a pause, she asked in confusion: "Have Mr. Watt been in any trouble?"
"No, nothing, ma'am," Agent Colson said politely, "he was involved in a case, but it was just a routine investigation, not a big problem."
After asking a few simple questions, Agent Colson said goodbye and left the company. He returned to the bottom of the building, crossed the road and returned to the black Porsche parked on the side of the road.
He called Nick Fury.
"How is it, Agent Colson?" Fury asked.
"The identity you asked me to verify, Bill Walter? I checked his ID, checked his driver's license, graduation certificate... All the information seemed to be fine. Then I went to his office, and all his colleagues proved that there was someone. One of them told me that he had been here for two years. Although I did not use professional equipment, based on experience, I don't think she was lying."
"Where are the people in the office?"
"The identity has also been verified, and it seems that there is no problem."
"So you believe Bill Watt's identity is innocent?"
"As far as I see, sir? It's perfect," Colson said. "If everything involved in this identity is forged, then the person who forged it is either an ultimate genius that we have never heard of... or a magician who can distort the facts."
"I see."
"Ask a rude question, are you sure you don't need me to know who this Bill Water is?" Colson asked.
"That's secret, Agent Colson," Fury said, "thank you for your help, but your mission is over."
Nick Fury finished the communication and frowned and pondered for a while in the office.
A few hours ago, the mysterious guy code-named "Black Knight" was finally willing to come out of the black iron shell and meet him officially. In contrast to his phenomenon, the young man with thick stubble in that suit was hidden in the armor. He looked about thirty to forty years old, wearing a white-collar standard affordable suit.
He claimed that his name was Bill Watt, and said that since he left Hydra, this has been his disguised identity, and the elite agents he sent had just verified this identity. And this seems reasonable, Bill Watt is indeed quite low-key as a disguised identity.
Then Mr. Bill Water gave him another address, a warehouse located on the outskirts of New York. The company that owned it went bankrupt a few years ago and has been abandoned there ever since. Mr. Water said that it has been his secret base for years, and his equipment, technology, and armor were all stored there.
This "Black Knight" wore a high-tech battle suit all day long, so he should have a secret base. Fury also sent a group of agents to investigate this location, and the feedback results were indeed consistent with the description. It seems that this "Bill Water" did show full sincerity, at least even a super spy like Nick Fury could not find any flaws from the information he provided for a while.
But what Fury didn't know was that Michael had prepared for himself with more than one complete identity. Each of his identities was designed seamlessly, and he also had a different face for each identity. He prepared a digital mask for all identities in advance, and when he put on the mask, he instantly obtained a completely different identity.
So Michael did not lie to Fury. He did reveal his identity - but there was only one of them.
So in the future, Fury can register "Bill Water" into the list of dangerous people on ASCHE, and then monitor the accounts and movements of this fictional character that does not exist 24/7, but in fact it did not cause any burden to Michael's subsequent actions.
As for whether Fury would decide to trust him once? Michael was not very worried.
Because to be honest, they may not have many options in this matter considering the current situation and the situation of ASCHE.
After thinking for a while, Fury sat up, picked up the phone and dialed a string of numbers.
"This is Commander Fury, notify me of the Council," he said. "I have important things to talk about."

One hour later, the floating carrier was nine thousand meters above the ground.
Nick Fury stood in the center of the room with his hands in his arms. A senior figure from the World Security Council surrounded him in the middle through three hanging monitors.
Very abnormal, these three representatives did not speak for so long for thirty seconds. Over the past period of time, they kept putting pressure on the black director and tried all kinds of means to force him to explain what he was hiding. But when Fury finally revealed it, none of them seemed to be ready to face the truth.
Fury didn't make a sound and stood there with his hands on his back, waiting patiently for them to chew and digest the huge information. A needle could be heard in the dark sealed room, and only the ups and downs of breathing came out through the stereo speakers.
After a while, a representative spoke with some uncertainty: "Director Fury, let me confirm again... You just told us that Hydra - either other Hydra, or the terrorist organization that survived World War II - still exists today. And that organization has been living inside S.H.E.L.D for the past century?"
"That's roughly what it means." Fury's tone was plain.
"And it has long been part of the ASCHEN, and they have penetrated into every aspect of the ASCHEN, and even the former ASCHEN commander Alexander Pierce is one of them?" said the representative, accentuating his tone, "Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds right?"
"I'm responsible for every word I say," Fury said.
"If these are true, I'm afraid that this is beyond what you can be responsible, Director Fury." The representative who spoke clearly had a sense of accountability in his tone. "That means that your department has been covered with Hydra spies in the past few years, and as a commander, you know nothing?"
"We have expressed high dissatisfaction with your hierarchical confidentiality system more than once, Director Fury." The council representative who spoke before also sternly rebuked, "Especially, I personally emphasized the importance of transparent management mechanisms more than once. If you were not so stubborn, but adopted the suggestions earlier, things would not have fallen to such a point..."
"And now it's meaningless." Fury said coldly, "The important thing now is to solve the problem."
"You mean sending out all the power of the ASCHEN and taking down multiple facilities that are suspected to be enemy strongholds?" A council representative shook his head, "but you can't even reveal the source of information to us. Such a big decision needs to be made with caution, and we can't just do it..."
"You seem to have a little misunderstanding, gentlemen." Fury interrupted his words. "With the recent contacts, our understanding of Hydra has become deeper and deeper, and I have also become more and more aware of how unfathomable this organization is. It is no exaggeration to say that Hydra has truly penetrated into all aspects of the world, and there are their shadows in any country, region and organization. I even personally say that the possibility of Hydra spies in the World Security Council cannot be completely ruled out."
As soon as he said this, the deputies of the board of directors began to sit still and began to scold words such as "absurd" and "nonsense".
Fury ignored their reaction and continued on his own: "This is a decisive battle that concerns the final outcome of our and Hydra. The confidentiality measures of the operation are very important. So you see, I am not trying to ask for your permission here. Just as I stand here and grind you..."
He paused, and his right eye shot a sharp falcon-like gaze.
“…The action has already begun.”
At the same time as this conversation took place, the Hydra strongholds listed by Michael were attacked violently at almost the same time.
Long-range missiles first kicked off the battle, with powerful modern weapons falling from the sky, bringing rolling smoke and scorching flames.
The attack of Kun-style fighter jets was followed. The advanced fighter jets unique to SHIELD were almost approaching the enemy's head and released their stealth, and ruthlessly poured out flames below. The fighter jets and laser tanks in the attacked Hydra facilities were even blown into pieces before they could even be activated, and their combat effectiveness was reduced by more than half before they could even be activated.
After the fierce and sufficient firepower suppressed almost destroyed most of the base facilities, the elite assault team of ASCHUN was sent to break in. However, by this time the situation had basically been settled, and their mission was to hunt down fish that had missed the net and control the situation.
Each team was directly commanded by the commander assigned by Fury himself. All of these commanders were confirmed to have their innocent confidants after strict review by himself. In addition, none of the ASCHEssen agents involved in the operation knew the content of the mission, and each group in each team was only informed of their work after arriving at the scene.
No one involved in the action knew the full picture of the mission, so no one could tell the story—this is Nick Fury’s style of doing things.
The victory was heard one after another, and the last battle came to an end in just one hour. At this point, most of the highest-level branches carefully hidden by Hydra were completely destroyed, and the three highest-level leaders were shot dead on the spot.
