Chapter 7 Trust
One afternoon in the autumn of 1895, it was drizzling in the sky, and a team of teenagers in gray uniforms marched into a winding valley in the eastern suburbs of Cornisburg. This was the final result of the first phase of the Cornisburg Junior Military Academy. A total of twenty-four students, including Chen Tian, a total of 24 students - Chen Tian, a 13-year-old Thomas, a 13-year-old Oli, and 21 other teenagers aged 13-17 were about to complete their last semester and were all admitted to the Imperial Royal Army Academy.
Although the team was not large, they were all full of energy. They were marching silently with their young chests. Their backs were the 1888 Mauser rifle, which was the first rifle used by the Imperial Army to use fireworks. Although it was expensive and had some defects in performance, the military academy decided to use this currently more advanced rifle as a training weapon. Since this time it was just a normal marching exercise, they were not equipped with bullets, each carrying only a bayonet and a kettle, as well as a backpack unique to the German army.
After passing through the valley, they could reach a village by just passing through another woods, where they would have supper, and then go back to the military academy overnight along the main road.
Gradually the rain stopped, and various animals jumped out of the bushes from time to time in the woods, and then jumped into another bush. The birds also sang happily above their heads. It seemed that there were few humans disturbing them here. It was vibrant on the surface, but there was a murderous aura hidden behind it...
"Stop!" The instructor asked everyone to stop because the animals around suddenly ran around in panic. After a while, the woods that were still very lively just now became quiet. As the dusk approached, the light in the woods began to dim.
"It seems that some dangerous animal appears, and the little animals are hiding!" Thomas poked Chen Tian in the arm.
"It seems! I feel that the atmosphere here is not right! Unfortunately, we didn't carry bullets! Otherwise, what else would we be afraid of!" Chen Tian was timid.
"No, what's going to happen?" Ollie followed them closely.
"Maybe it's a wolf, maybe it's a bear! Wolves prefer to have more meat!" Thomas looked around.
But the only instructor in this team was stunned and looked at a loss.
"Instructor, what's wrong?" Chen Tian walked over and asked.
"Uh, Your Highness, Prince, we probably encountered some wild beasts! But I have never encountered such a situation! This..." The instructor looked at Chen Tian and became even more nervous!
"Okay, let me command it now!" Chen Tian felt that this instructor was probably here to make a living, and he seemed to have never seen any scenes before, so he fired this guy when he went back!
"Yes, Your Highness!"
"Everyone, listen, I will command it here now! Everyone runs forward and go to the open space in front!" Chen Tian issued a simple order.
"yes!"
After a while, Chen Tian and the others came to the small open space, where there was only a little sunshine.
"Everyone put on the bayonet, line up in two rows, and then form a circle!" Chen Tian pulled out the bayonet and directed everyone.
"Squat down in the front row, hold the bayonets in the back row!" Chen Tian asked everyone to line up into infantry defense and cavalry formations, and then wait for the "enemy" to appear.
It soon became dark.
"Look at that side! There!" Suddenly a student screamed.
Everyone looked in the direction he pointed, and there were small green dots in the darkness, with more and more small dots getting closer and closer...
"Ah! Wolf!" Another student also screamed!
“There are also here!”
“There are also here!”
We met the wolves, and Chen Tian sighed deeply.
Wolves should be afraid of fire, but it may be difficult to light a torch and die of dizziness after it rained!
"Don't be panicked! The bayonets in the front row are raised flat, and the bayonets in the back row are diagonally downward. Everyone should try to get closer!" Chen Tian can only hope that their bayonets can block the wolf pack.
Twenty-five people leaned tightly together, forming a very small circle.
The wolves did not pounce on them immediately. The wolves in front walked tentatively to two or three meters away from them, standing there watching the group of people.
Chen Tian could feel someone trembling around him.
"Don't be afraid, everyone! This is just a group of beasts! And we are Cornisburg, East Prussia, and the best young people in the entire German Empire! I believe in the rifles and bayonets in your hands, and the comrades behind you! We fight side by side!"
"Fight side by side!" The morale of the entire team suddenly increased, and everyone cheered up and stared at the wolf in front of them.
Woo...
Woo...
The wolves howled one after another.
It was night, and Chen Tian and the others were still confronting the wolf pack.
The wolves tried to rush up several times, but were blocked by bayonets.
As the night gradually became deeper, Chen Tian and the others became more and more tired, their eyelids kept fighting, and everyone began to stand less steadily, and some began to stagger.
"Everyone hold on! Just wait until dawn! Now we have no way out. As long as one person escapes, there will be a gap, and everyone will be in danger! I believe that we can continue to fight, do you believe it?"
"believe!"
"believe……"
When the first ray of sunlight passed through the woods and shone on these teenagers, they seemed to see the gate of heaven, and a smile finally appeared on their tired faces.
Woo...
The wolves roared and disappeared deep in the woods.
"Ouch! It's sour!"
"Finally got through it!"
Everyone sat on the ground, stretching their already stiff necks and limbs.
Chen Tian felt that his hands and feet were cold and numb, but he finally led everyone to survive, feeling very accomplished.
At this time, Thomas and Ollie came over, raised Chen Tian, and shouted loudly:
"Long live Prince William! Long live!"
Others also came to join them, Chen Tian was thrown into the air again and again, and they were as happy as if they had won a big battle.
"We should all remember today! Today, we fought shoulder to shoulder for the first time. It is because of each other's belief that we can persevere to the end! You must know that even if someone escapes, we may be done. However, we persist, which means that we are all trustworthy! We should always remember today and the trust between us!"
