Chapter 25 Christmas at home
Christmas at Fly Manor is not as lively as it is in school, but it is warm enough.
After Brian returned home, the family began to decorate Christmas. They decorated the two tall Christmas trees in the hall with colorful lights, trinkets and ribbons, and wrapped ivy and mistletoe around the walls and ceiling.
On Christmas day, Brian got up from the bed on time, while Overlook was lazily baking the fire on the fireplace, and the Christmas tree was filled with gift boxes.
Brian took apart his gifts one by one, including a large string of special fireworks given by Draco, a green scarf given by Daphne, and several Muggle modern history books given by Hermione.
Luna gave Brian a Christmas crystal ball, which contained two villains, a man and a woman. It was exactly what Brian and Luna looked like. They held hands, with big smiles on their faces, jumping around in the crystal ball.
Brian turned on the switch of the crystal ball, and an ethereal and melodious Christmas carol floated out, probably recorded by Luna himself. The villain in the crystal ball began to dance clumsy but cheerful dances.
Brian smiled, put the crystal ball aside, and opened Brees' gift box.
"Zhier--"
A spider-like thing as big as a head suddenly popped out of the box and tried to hold Brian's head.
Brian instinctively shook his wand, smashing the thing to the ground, and blowing out a colorless ball of liquid.
He took out a note from the gift box in a daze, which read:
"As you will be surprised throughout the holiday! This little cutie will hold your face intimately, and then dye your cheeks and hair into your favorite color! It is made with the latest solid ink, so don't worry about fading within seven days."
"I would like to dedicate this to my friends and wish you a Merry Christmas!"
Brian twitched the corners of his mouth, thinking that if he was really hugged, he would probably not be happy this Christmas holiday.
This Christmas, everyone received a gift, and even the Fry's house elf each received a soft and warm quilt from Mrs. Fry, which made them cry for the kind hostess.
At noon, the family of three had a warm dinner together. Mrs. Fley rarely demanded the etiquette of the nobles anymore, and was the first to let go of her restraint after drinking a few glasses of red wine.
After drinking, the two adults hugged and danced ballroom dance after lunch. A group of dwarves played various instruments beside them, playing a grand symphony.
In the afternoon, the family played on the wide venue for a long time. There were some flowers blooming in the garden that only bloomed in winter, and the fragrance came from the cold wind.
Mr. Fly rode his favorite fire crossbow, fluctuating in the air, and performed several Quidditch tactical moves for them with great enthusiasm, such as sloths holding trees and Langsky's fake moves.
According to Mr. Foley, after graduating from school, he wanted to join the Quidditch national team and had passed their tests, but his behavior was considered to be incompetent by his father and was taken back to inherit the family business.
"It's really a sad thing," Mr. Foley said regretfully, "I hated your grandfather during that time, and kept spending money on his family, but your grandfather told me contemptuously that I could not spend a tenth of the money he earned every day..."
"So?" Brian raised his eyebrows.
"So I'll come back and inherit the property." Mr. Foley also raised his eyebrows.
They chatted on the venue until night fell. Brian lit the special fireworks Draco gave him, and they turned into various images of fire dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, etc., performed a grand dance in the sky, and finally exploded into golden stars falling all over the sky, reflecting the sky like daytime.
"Well--so beautiful, but you will definitely be seen by the muggles in the village..." Mr. Fley said with a smile, "It's really a hassle, you can handle it yourself."
"They can't find this place again," said Brian. Because their family was cast of the Muggle shielding spell.
"Yeah, yeah, that's what Muggles are. They don't think about anything and will soon forget it." Mr. Fley said lazily.
"Dad, have you ever learned about the Muggle world?" Brian suddenly mentioned.
"Oh, I mean, why do you care about that?" Mr. Fry blinked.
"I think Muggles are not as stupid as we think, dad." Brian whispered, "After all, their population base is so large, there will always be amazing people..."
"Bryan, you don't have to worry about the muggles who are as weak and stupid as ants." Mr. Fley frowned.
"Dad, I don't think it's a bad thing to open my eyes to see the outside world." Brian said in a very soft voice, "I found that the Muggle world has developed so quickly over the years, so fast that it caught people off guard..."
"Uh, you... have you taken the wrong medicine?" said Mr. Fry. Mrs. Fry patted Brian on the shoulder without commenting.
"No, just express some thoughts." Brian squinted his eyes and smiled. He took out the Muggle Modern History Book that Hermione gave him and handed it to Mr. Foley, and said, "I think it is necessary to learn more."
Mr. Fry flipped through the books in his hand and blinked in a daze.
When Brian returned to the manor while strolling, Mr. Foley reacted and shouted, "Boy, when is it your turn to teach me?"
Mrs. Fley covered her mouth and chuckled.
Early the next morning, as if nothing had happened, they took the lead in Mrs. Fley to go to Diagon Alley for the whole morning, watching her buying goods frantically.
Diagon Alley was also shrouded in the Christmas atmosphere at this time, and a gorgeous stage was set up at the entrance of Diagon Alley. Bands and theater troupes took turns to perform on stage, surrounded by tourists.
It was not until the afternoon that they returned to the manor without any satisfaction.
After Christmas, life in the manor returned to its relaxed and somewhat boring daily life. The Fleys and his wife went to a vacation. Brian boredly studied alchemy.
At this time, the mirror in a corner of the study suddenly made a pleasant ding dong sound, and a picture outside the manor appeared.
"Muggle?" Brian raised his eyebrows and murmured in surprise.
He walked out the door and slowly approached the past. The two house elves followed him respectfully, protecting his safety at any time.
In the jungle on the hillside, a group of people were walking panting.
"It's so strange, why did we get lost in this ghost place? It's obviously just a small hill." said a boy of fifteen or sixteen.
"There have always been haunted legends here. We are not entangled by ghosts, right?" A girl of about the same age led a girl about ten years old and said uneasy. "The sneaky black-robed men just now were very suspicious... We really shouldn't come here privately."
"Come on, Martha, you were the most enthusiastic when you proposed to come to explore and even brought your sister with you." The tall girl who was walking in the front rolled her eyes.
"Who made the fireworks in the mountains yesterday..." Martha's cheeks turned red.
"Why do you turn around as soon as you get here instead of continuing to walk up the mountain?" The little girl led by Martha panted, she pouted with some displeasure, "We have been to this place several times, but you just don't go forward..."
"Wait, Alyssa, are you hallucinating?" Marsha said in surprise, "I don't remember being here, and there was no turning?"
"It's obvious that, sister, you're so careless." Alisa said.
"Why do I feel...a little frizzy?" The group stopped and felt a little creepy.
"what to do?"
"I've been walking for so long, can I just go back like that?" Marsha said with her waist, "Since Alyssa has a good sense of direction, let her lead the way!"
Under the guidance of the little girl, they finally passed through the jungle and climbed to the top of the mountain.
"Ah, a castle!" Alisa exclaimed with bright eyes.
"Castle? Where is there! There is obviously only a wasteland here!" the others said in a fuss.
