Chapter 14 Divination Lessons
The next morning, they came to the auditorium for breakfast.
Draco thought Harry was shocked by the dementors and he adapted it into a ridiculous and funny story to tell everyone, and Crab and Gole were silly happy.
When seeing Harry and the others walking by, Draco deliberately pretended to faint suddenly, which made everyone laugh.
Daphne couldn't help laughing, then felt that this was impolite, and forced her to restrain her smile, her fair cheeks turned slightly red. She turned around and whispered to her sister.
Pansy Parkinson was surrounded by a group of girls, and she screamed sarcastically: "Hey, Potter, the dementor is here! Woooo... run away quickly!" Her eyes looked at Draco with admiration, making Draco raise his chin proudly.
Harry sat angrily at the dining table, ignoring the mockery and laughter here.
Brian is looking at his new course schedule.
Because the number of elective courses is small, all elective courses are taught together by four colleges.
Brian has seven classes today, both divination classes and arithmetic divination classes are at 9 a.m. Next is a herbal class, and the first class in the afternoon is the magical animal class and ancient Runevan, the last class in the afternoon is the metamorphosis, and there is also astronomy in the evening.
"This course...how do you want to attend class, Brian?" Draco looked at it at some point, "Don't tell me you know how to clone it!"
Daphne also looked over curiously and widened her blue eyes slightly.
"I always have some special methods," Brian smiled, "some...uh, traditional art."
"What method?" Draco leaned over.
"Not to say," Brian raised his index finger and pressed his lips, "It won't work if he says it."
"Go--" Draco turned his head away in disgust.
After breakfast, they went to class separately. Brian and Daphne walked towards the North Tower together.
The divination class classroom is on the top of the north tower, ten minutes away from the castle. Brian was familiar with the Hogwarts passage in the castle model under the secret room and took Daphne to a shortcut, but the long staircase still made the two of them feel a little panting.
They finally climbed to a platform, and in a painting in front of them, a short and fat knight in armor was fighting with his pony with energy, shouting rhythmic loud slogans.
"The heroic Sir Kadogan will never compromise!" The knight in the painting shouted, and was kicked by his pony.
Daphne glanced with interest, then continued to climb the long stairs with Brian, and finally arrived at the location of the divination classroom. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's so far away." She said softly.
"Yes, you can use it as a physical exercise." Brian said casually.
Several students have gathered here on the platform. A brass sign hung on the circular trap door on the ceiling, which read "Sibill Trilawney, divination teacher". But at this time the trap door was tightly closed.
They were waiting outside bored. Soon, shortly after Harry and the other two arrived panting, the trapdoor suddenly opened and a silver ladder was placed.
They climbed up the ladder, and there was a strange classroom, crowded with twenty small round tables, surrounded by printed cloth armchairs and bulging futons, like an old-fashioned teahouse built in the attic.
The curtains were closed tightly, and everything around them was shrouded in the hazy red light. The flames in the fireplace were burning, making it so hot that it was breathless. The teapot was burning on the fire, emitting a strong and disgusting fragrance.
Professor Trelawney walked out of the shadow and said in her soft, vague voice: "Welcome, it's great to finally see you in the material world."
She is very thin, wearing a pair of huge glasses, a shawl dotted with shimmer metal pieces, countless bead chains hanging around her neck, and many bracelets and rings on her hands, which makes her feel crazy and mysterious.
Brian and Daphne sat down at a round table by the window. Daphne pursed her mouth a little uncomfortable, and said in a low voice: "So, divination should be so mysterious and weird?"
"No, I think, this is just a personal hobby." Brian blinked. The air and temperature here are testing people's nerves.
Trelawney first greeted Neville's grandmother, making Neville restlessly worried about her grandmother's situation, and warned Parvati Pettier to be wary of a red-haired man. Next, she predicted that someone would leave forever around Easter, and told Ravend that the thing she feared most would happen on October 16th.
Daphne seemed a little nervous. When Trelawny looked over, she suddenly clenched the quill in her hand.
Fortunately, Trelawney did not make any predictions against Brian and Daphne, which made Daphne breathe a sigh of relief.
"Will she say true, Brian?" Daphne whispered.
"To be honest, I'm not sure." Brian shook his head. Although Trelawney's performance under normal conditions seemed to be fooling people, there was no doubt that if she insisted on taking the role, her prediction seemed to be able to match her.
For example, next, Trelawney predicted that Neville would break the teacup, and that was indeed fulfilled.
"How to say it, I think it's amazing," Daphne swayed the tea residue in the tea cup and put the cup upside down on the tray. "Does she know everything about the future?"
"It's hard to say," Brian exchanged cups with Daphne and said softly, "It's more like slandering." He didn't believe it very much.
Apart from those real prophecies, Trelawney is usually more like a liar.
Neville's grandmother is old and it is very likely that she will have a minor problem. Parvati should be alert to red-haired men, which is simply nonsense. In comparison, her friend Lavender needs to be more vigilant.
She predicted that one person would leave forever, and that might be Hermione, because she could no longer stand the divine divination class and decided not to take this course, but it was obviously not "forever" to leave everyone. And Ravend's rabbit did die that day, but it was more like a match-up. Who would have been afraid that his rabbit would die?
There is no doubt that several of her predictions were not successful, and in the Order of the Phoenix, Trelawney did not predict that she would be removed from her position as a professor.
"Maybe it was because of what she said just now that Longbottom was nervous, so he really broke the teacup... However, prophecy is indeed a magical magic, but it requires talent. Not everyone can always see the future."
Brian interpreted the shape of the tea leaves in Daphne’s tea cup in comparison with his memory. He had read the book “Putting the Misty to See the Future” once and had completely remembered it.
He struggled to identify the wet tea residue, and unfortunately he didn't see anything from it. He looked at the tea residue like some kind of bird. The description in the book was "I'll fall into worries recently", and on the other side it looked like a forest, indicating that "I'll be very happy."
"Well, I think this is like a dark cloud. Beware of the crisis that is about to occur." Daphne looked at Brian's teacup and frowned in front of her textbook.
Trelawney walked behind Brian, and she looked at Daphne's teacup, and said in a striking tone: "Oh, this is not a pleasant cup, which indicates bumps and losses... and work hard, but in the end nothing is obtained." She sighed and looked at Daphne as if she was looking at a little pitiful.
Daphne's face turned pale, and her mouth opened, her eyes becoming misty.
After Trelawney finished speaking, she turned to Harry and Brian said to the lost Daphne: "Don't believe her words, you know, she's a little crazy..."
Daphne nodded down, fiddled with the teacup in her hand uneasy, then looked up and smiled at Brian, "Don't worry about me, I didn't take it seriously."
Brian frowned and nodded, glanced at his prophecy level, which was still uninitial. He looked at the 5 testimony points he had left.
To be honest, he was not very interested in prophecy itself, because seeing the future is not something to be happy about, and the unknown future is more desirable. Especially when prophecies are difficult to change, the efforts he made often promote the realization of prophecies.
"However, you can use a testimony point to get started with prophecy..." Brian pondered. He was just curious about how people made prophecy, was he seeing a flash of pictures, or did he show some of the trajectory?
He used a testimony point in prophecy, and the small words on the system changed slightly:
【The conditions are not met, and the upgrade cannot be temporarily unavailable】
Brian stared at the changes on the panel in a daze, and his eyes suddenly became extremely deep.
"Oh, no--" Trelawney's scream interrupted Brian's thoughts, and she pointed to Harry's teacup tremblingly, "My dear child is ominous! The gloomy black dog that appears in the cemetery is a sign of death!"
Trelawney's eyes were wide open, and under the enlargement of the huge glasses, she looked like some kind of insect.
Harry's face looked a little ugly, Hermione's eyes were blazing, and she stood up and said tit-for-tat: "I don't think that's ominous, professor!"
Trelawney looked at Hermione unhappily, evading her lack of talent for prophecy.
She announced the get out of class weakly, and most of the little wizards were in a low mood and left the classroom without saying a word.
