1st Servant

"Is there another new person here? Come in!"

A duck-like voice came from the cold room.

Lance stood outside the door and glanced at the man in black behind him. After being taken on a boat by the man in black named No. 7, he was sent to the castle. The gloomy scarlet castle was obviously much larger than the Viscount's castle. Along the way, Lance and the man in black walked around for unknown amounts before they arrived at this dungeon-like place.

Lance noticed that where he was, there were two rows of low houses on both sides, and the doors of the houses were wide open and locked. Each room was filled with simple living supplies.

What made Lance even more creepy was that along the way, he found that the movements of the man in black were very stiff, and even when he was walking, his knee joints were basically not bent, as if he was rubbing.

Lance also said a few words to him tentatively, but the other party ignored him at all and just urged him to move forward, like a living dead man who only knew how to execute orders.

"Hurry up!" The person inside urged: "After completing the procedures, I have to assign tasks to you. Don't think about being lazy. Scarlet Castle is not another place, and it can't accommodate lazy people and waste."

Lance took a deep breath, and the venomous snake cursed on his wrist and ached faintly. He forced himself to calm down and walked in.

Compared to the humidity outside, this room looks much dryer.

A strange man sat in front of a desk with his head down, holding a pen in his hand, writing quickly.

Lance walked over.

The man immediately raised his head and grinned at Lance.

However, Lance was shocked!

Because he saw that person's head, it turned out to be a dog's head!

Unlike the kobold described in the monster illustration of the wizarding world, the guy standing in front of Lance is obviously an ordinary human figure, but his facial features and head are very mutated, and he is a fierce hunting dog.

"Boy, look at me with this kind of eyes and I will dig out your eyes!" said the dog-headed man viciously.

A chill rose from behind Lance, and he felt a stern in his heart and said to himself: "This guy has at least more than 70 points of magic! Is he a high school apprentice?"

"Say your name." The dog-headed man pulled out a piece of paper from the drawer, wrote a few strokes, and then asked.

"Lance."

"An unbearable name." The dog-headed man muttered, and a hint of mockery flashed in his eyes: "In fact, no matter what your name is, you will never think of going out here. I am too lazy to write your name, so I just call Miangua No. 3, my favorite food."

After saying that, he wrote a line of words on the paper.

Lance couldn't help but clench his fists. At this moment, the venomous snake curse on his wrist suddenly became hot and began to stimulate his nerves.

"Warning! An unknown neurotoxin is spreading inside your body!" the fox said hurriedly: "I cannot eradicate it because there is no medically-related sub-chip."

“The best solution to this problem: amputation.”

Lance gritted his teeth and calmed his anger down. The poisonous snake curse immediately calmed down.

"I guess you can feel the horror of the venomous snake curse, right? Old Sonny has been sitting at the back door of Scarlet Castle for 176 years and has received countless wild wizards. No servant has ever escaped the rule of Scarlet Castle. A few smart people have successfully earned enough magic stones and become self-paid lives, but most of them stay here forever."

The dog-headed man sneered maliciously: "When you come here, you should have seen those houses, right? Those rooms are for you servants, and it is not enough to describe them as dark. Can you be willing to stay in such an environment for a lifetime?"

Lance's heart moved. Logically, if this guy was just going through the procedures, why would he say so much nonsense to himself?

He thought about it carefully, and suddenly his heart lit up and he whispered, "I want to ask you, I wonder if the man in black outside can understand our conversation?"

The dog-headed man showed a strange smile and shook his head and said, "That's just a flesh-and-blood puppet. Even zombies are worse than those, and he can't understand our conversation."

"Oh? Since that's the case, I have some strange magical items here. I want to ask you to help me identify them." Lance took two steps forward, quietly placed two magic stones on the table, and pushed them to the other end of the table. But he said, "The magic power of these magical items is too powerful, I'm afraid I can't identify them. I hope you will take them back and identify them for a while."

The dog-headed man smiled and quietly took down the two magic stones.

He licked his lips and said, "It's rare that there is a wild wizard like you. Generally speaking, those who are caught here as servants are all paupers. It seems that you are still worth a lot of money, but there is a considerable gap between one hundred magic stones, right?"

Lance smiled bitterly and spread his hands.

The dog-headed man sneered, suddenly rolled up his sleeves, revealing a huge blue-gray mark on his wrist, and said with a hideous look: "See? This is the price of trying to escape from the Scarlet Castle secretly! For your sake, I kindly remind you, don't try to get rid of the control of the old dwarf by becoming a self-paid student!"

Lans was shocked and saw that the "venomous snake curse" on the dog-headed man's arm was many times larger than his own, and it had spread from his wrist to his arm.

"Every night, it will be a punishment for my attempt to escape from here." The dog-headed man silently put his sleeves together, continued to write a few strokes on a piece of paper, and then said to Lance: "I have a few quotas of slavery on hand that are free of labor, but..."

Lance frowned. The dog-headed man was too greedy. Could it be that he was making the other party even more greedy because he was generous?

He smiled bitterly and said, "Sir, I really don't have more magic stones on my hands."

The dog-headed man smiled: "There is no free quota for the whole month of the first month. Many servants can't buy it even if they want to. The price of three magic stones is clearly marked. If not, then I'm sorry, Mr. Lance, I'm going to assign you a job."

Lance hesitated slightly and asked in a low voice: "Can you show me the work the servants need to do every day?"

The dog-headed man said readily: "No problem."

After saying that, he took out a list from a stack of documents beside him and handed it to Lance.

Lance just glanced at it quickly. Although his face was still cold and calm, he gasped in his heart!

【Task List】:

a. Collect more than three baskets of purple star ore every day. Working location: the third underground floor of the castle's Houshan Mine Cave.

b. Use your own magic to water [Qunniahman] three times a day, each time it waters the magic to no less than 8 o'clock. Work location: East District of Sky Garden

c. Become a living spell experiment object for a second-level wizard. Working location: Western Experimental Tower

...

There are a lot of tasks below, but each task is very terrifying and not done by humans at all!

Lance estimated that if he had to complete these tasks every day, he would basically consume all his energy and magic, and he would not even have the opportunity to improve his meditation.

No wonder the dog-headed man said that few people have been able to get rid of their status as servants over the years. This is simply a bottomless pit!

"Qunniahman is a very terrifying magical plant. It is said that it must be raised by the blood of a wizard apprentice to survive. If I bleed like this every day, I am afraid I will die within a week." Lance's face looked very ugly. He thought to himself: "It's even more unpredictable to be the subject of a second-level wizard. Hicks had told me a long time ago that the wizards in the Scarlet Castle are very evil, and the experiments they conducted must be fatal."

There is no way to take any of the tasks here, otherwise there will be no way out.

While Lance was wandering, the dog-headed man said coldly again: "Don't hesitate. With my authority, I can only delay you for one month. In the future, even if you give me thirty magic stones, I can't help you. Only in the first month can I find a way to do something."

Lance gritted his teeth and suddenly said seriously: "If I give you three more magic stones, can you really exempt me from the first month's mission?"

The dog-headed man said gloomyly: "Do you have any other choices besides trusting me?"

Lance narrowed his eyes and stared at the funny dog head. A strange light suddenly flashed in his eyes. At that moment, the dog head man suddenly felt uncomfortable all over, as if he was locked by something.

"I choose to believe you." He looked at the other party deeply. Hawkeye had already been opened. If the dog-headed man had a tendency to break his promise, he would break out with the venomous snake curse and kill him!

Lance took out three magic stones again and handed them to the dog-headed man.

The dog-headed man showed a greedy look. He put away the magic stone, licked his lips, and his eyes shone: "You are indeed very rich!"

Lance said coldly: "It has nothing to do with you."

The dog-headed man received the money and did practical things. Soon he wrote a few words on a piece of paper, then took out a metal nameplate and handed it to Lance.

"This is the unified servant nameplate of Scarlet Castle. Everyone walking in the castle must wear a nameplate that symbolizes their identity." The dog-headed man explained: "I have completed the procedures for you. You don't need to come to me within the first month. But in a month, you have to officially start working, otherwise the venomous snake curse on you will kill you."

"Now, you can go. Follow this road to the end and you can find the mission hall. There, you can borrow tasks with the nameplate. After completing the mission, you will earn a lot of magic stones. Although I don't believe you can earn enough tuition fees for your own student in a month, I wish you good luck."

Lance took the nameplate and put it in his pocket, and suddenly asked, "Will you not be discovered by the old dwarfs when you do this?"

The dog-headed man smiled coldly, and he divided the five magic stones that Lance gave him into two parts, one for four, and the other for only one. He threw the four pieces into a brazier burning with green flames on the side, and the four magic stones disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Okay, the old dwarf has already been done." said the dog-headed man.

Lance nodded, it turned out that the old dwarf was holding the big head, and the dog head man was just an executor.

He was about to turn around and leave, but before he could go out, he stopped again: "I have another question to ask you."

"Speak quickly!" The dog-headed man was a little impatient.

"The one who caught me into Scarlet Castle before was a vulture with a servant's nameplate hanging. Do you know him?" Lance asked steadily.

The dog-headed man sneered: "You are very lucky. It turns out that it is Pansas. If you want to take revenge, I advise you to give up this idea."

"That guy is the most powerful of all servants. I heard that he will soon earn enough magic stones and be able to become a self-paid child."

"His magic has reached more than 90 points and can attack the second-level wizard at any time. You are not his opponent."

Lance nodded thoughtfully, said thank you, and left the cold room.
