Chapter 235 Military Parade

On December 12, 1936, the day after the British monarch Edward VIII, who "loved the country and the beauty", abdicated, the German Empire Congress passed the Third Reich Constitution. On the same day, the Imperial Congress elected William II as the emperor of the Third Reich in accordance with the newly adopted constitution.

Unlike in history, from this day on, the throne of the Third Reich of the German Empire was no longer lingering in history. Hitler's official title was "leader and prime minister of the empire". After President Hindenburg's death, Hitler adopted the strategy of "abolition" the presidency. This means that the position of "leader and prime minister of the empire" became the head of state of Germany.

Is it a bit strange for the Prime Minister to become the head of state?

In fact, this is a common method used by many European dictators in the 1920s and 1930s, to make the throne empty rather than abolish it, and to monopolize the power in the name of "Prime Minister", "Prime Minister", "Regent".

For example, the regent of the Kingdom of Hungary, Holtie Micklos, and Spanish Prime Minister Franco, both adopted this strategy to govern the country. Hitler also adopted a vague approach on the issue of monarchy, ruling an empire without an emperor in the name of "leader and prime minister of the empire", giving the Junker officers who supported the monarchy infinite imagination. After all, Hitler was not young and had no descendants, and his successor Gorene was close to Crown William.

However, with Hessman's efforts over the years, the strength of the Junker Officer Group has increased much more than its original history. Not only is the number of officers (referring to the officers before Germany expanded their arms) more, but there is also a huge spy organization, and it also has a "Junker Country" Polo Republic with a population of three to four million.

In this case, it was natural for William II to restore the reign. This was the will of the entire Juncker group, and as their agent, Hessman naturally had to follow their will. As a political general, Hessman, like most politicians, must firmly grasp his basic position.

"Thank you, General!"

"Salute to you, General!"

"Good job, general!"

Hessman stood in the box of a convertible Type 62 Volkswagen (National Automobile Factory) military vehicle, passing by groups of veterans and veteran officers wearing World War I uniforms. Many people saluted him.

These people came to participate in the Emperor's crowning parade, and each of them had medals hanging on their old military uniforms. Hessman saw that his father was also among them. The old man was now a member of the MP of the Motherland People's Party, but today he did not watch the ceremony with other members of the parliament. Instead, he put on his well-preserved old military uniform and walked into the square with his former comrades, and was inspected by the emperor, leader and imperial prime minister Hitler.

"Salute to you!" Hessman also raised his right arm to return the salute.

Because of his "promotion and meritorious support", his status in the Juncker Group has also risen. Now he is the Marquis of Heinsberg and the Army General. Unlike when he was an infantry general, many people were dissatisfied with him. Now he is a general who is deeply loved by the people, at least the officers of the royal army are convinced.

Hessman, who has been an officer for more than 20 years, knows that this kind of "submission" is very important for generals who command thousands of troops. This is "execution ability". Not only are there people listening to the orders given, but there will also be people working hard to execute them and will not be slandered.

To obtain this kind of "execution", it is not enough to just build a small circle, and you have to do something convincing. What Hitler did was to completely solve the unemployment problem and let Germany take off economically. Hessmann and Schletcher established a powerful defense force and invited the German emperor.

"The morale of everyone is very high. It's good that the old President Hindenburg could see this scene."

Schletcher, who had just become a marshal, sat in the seat beside Hessman, holding a scepter in his hand. His face was full of pride.

"He will be in heaven, with millions of German heroes!" said Hessman. "He will be very happy. We not only invited His Majesty, but also established the most powerful army in the world!"

While the two were talking, the 62 Volkswagen they were riding in had already driven from the veterans' phalanx. Hessman was the general inspector of the review, while Schletcher was the Minister of Defense to conduct the final inspection before the review.

As a respect for the veterans who participated in the last World War, the veterans’ phalanx will be the first to appear. There is no problem with this link. Just a group of old people wearing military uniforms and medals can just walk the phalanx.

Behind the veteran phalanx is the military band. The Germans prefer music. Their military bands are also very high-level and can play very beautiful music. In many ceremonies of the German team, military bands that play and play often walk in the front.

Behind the military band phalanx is a cavalry formation. Of course, the German army has cavalry! Although the annual output of German cars in this time and space is nearly twice as high as that of the original time and space, it is still incomparable to the annual output of millions of units in the United States. Therefore, it cannot be fully motorized, and Germany does not have so much fuel to consume.

So now there are only a few "mechanized" German troops, and the majority "burn horse manure". Currently, there are as many as 1.1 million military horses serving in the German army with a population of about 1.5 million! Each infantry division is equipped with at least 5,300 horses and 1,100 carriages. In addition, the reconnaissance battalion of the infantry division also relies on horses and bicycles to maneuver.

However, what was being inspected today was not the cavalry that belonged to the infantry division, but the independent cavalry unit, a mixed cavalry regiment of the 1st Cavalry Brigade of the National Defense Forces and a cavalry regiment of the 1st Cavalry Brigade of the SS.

The former is a partially mechanized cavalry, while the latter is a simple cavalry unit. However, the German cavalry no longer uses saber charge, but instead marchs on horseback and dismounts to fight, which is actually horse-riding infantry.

"Haha, two entire cavalry regiments are very spectacular!" Schletcher was very satisfied when he saw the soldiers in an orderly manner leading the war horses. "This reminded me of the fact that there were still many cavalry before the World War."

"There are many now!" Hessman said with a smile, "The National Defense Forces have 3 regiments and the SS have 12 regiments."

The three cavalry regiments of the National Defense Forces (including a semi-mechanized cavalry regiment) belong to the First Cavalry Brigade, which is a front-line combat force. Hessman plans to match the cavalry brigade with a motorized anti-tank battalion and a motorized reconnaissance battalion before the war begins, so that they can operate with the armored forces.

As for the SS cavalry, they were all second-line troops, temporarily engaged in public security wars in the rear.

Behind the cavalry are some infantry phalanxes, wearing m35 steel helmets, Mauser 98k rifles, shiny leather boots, leather backpacks, very good quality armed belts and other equipment. They are all good things produced in Germany.

Then there are artillerymen. This time, the 150mm K18 heavy artillery that had just been equipped with the troops were towed by the truck, and the members of the artillery team were also sitting on the truck, which was considered mechanized artillerymen.

Although the last military exercise held in Polo told the German army that they needed more self-propelled artillery, it required a large number of tank chassis to build crawlers. German factories are still driving at full capacity to meet the needs of armored troops' tanks and cannot take care of self-propelled howitzers for the time being.

However, some progress has been made in the development of self-propelled artillery. The No. 1 "training tank" that has begun to retire from active service is being converted into No. 1 assault gun and No. 1 self-propelled artillery.

However, these two projects have not been completed yet, so naturally there are no weapons available for display.

After the K18 cannon, the motorcycle troops were unveiled, which were usually part of the reconnaissance battalion of the Motorized Infantry Division or the Armored Division, using three-wheeled motorcycles produced by BM and Condap.

And after the motorcycle army, it is the final tank!

The two tanks of all colors are no longer the original model, but the two model that has undergone several major modifications. The maximum armor thickness is 15 mm. 20 mm additional armor is also installed on the front of the tank turret. It is quite reassuring in defense, but the firepower is still too poor and it is still a 20 mm machine gun.

"There will be 400 Type 2 models in total, which will be very spectacular." Hessman looked at the neatly arranged tanks and said to Schletcher with satisfaction. "Using them is enough to defeat Poland! At most, a small number of No. 3 and Skoda tanks are needed (Skoda has developed several light tanks, and there are more advanced tanks under development)."

"I think the Poles would be happy to see these tanks," Schletcher shrugged, disapproving, "because they are too small! Without the third and fourth, there is no certainty in attacking Poland. The Poles also have many tanks, right?"

"There are small tanks in the TK series, each division has a maximum of one battalion," said Hessman. "It's useless. The armor is too thin and the rifles can be penetrated. However, their 7TP tanks are still good. They are better than our No. 2, with larger tonnage, stronger armor and stronger firepower. However, the number is too small, and there is no use."

"But they can hurry up and produce it. If they are willing to spend a lot of money, they can still help factories in Britain and France. There may be thousands of 7TP vehicles in two years."

Hessman smiled, "Don't worry, we can deal with it!"

He raised his wrist to look at the time, and then said to Schletcher, "Kurt, it's still early, let's go to the airport to see it now. This time the Air Force sent the latest four-engine heavy bombers Do19 and Ju89, which will scare the British and French." (To be continued.)
