The thirty-eighth chapter eastward ceremony (5)
In addition to receiving old friends and friends, the Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia also participated in many religious and social activities in Beijing. After all, Beijing is the capital of the emperor, the political, economic and cultural center. Therefore, after the restoration of the social and economic order, various social activities naturally started to take place. The Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia was originally a religious celebrity in Beijing. After he returned to Beijing, he naturally invited him to participate in the prefecture.
On the one hand, the Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia participated in some religious and social activities at the invitation of his old friends, and on the other hand, he personally visited some government agencies and veterans who started businesses in Beijing. At the same time, he bought a large number of books related to the East China government, participated in various activities during the day, and studied hard at night, so he couldn't rest for a moment.
It turned out that the Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia wanted to understand the situation of the East China Government from many aspects, so as to know his own and his opponents. After arriving in Qingdao, he also knew what he should be to meet with the senior management of the East China Government. Although the Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia also learned about the situation of the East China Government when he was in Lanzhou and Xi'an, in Lanzhou, Xi'an had just been ruled by the East China Government, and the social transformation had not been completed, so even the administrative agencies were not perfect. There were basically no veterans who were operating here, so the situations they could understand were limited.
Although Beijing was not ruled by the East China Government for too long, it was actually only more than a year. However, firstly, the East China Government was active in Beijing at the beginning of its establishment and left various traces in Beijing. Secondly, Beijing has been basically identified as the capital of New China. After the East China Government occupied Beijing, it spent a lot of effort to transform Beijing and improve its administrative institutions. At the same time, a large number of veterans operate industries in Beijing, and they can also buy all the books published by the East China Government in Beijing. Therefore, as long as you have enough time and energy in Beijing, you can basically have a comprehensive understanding of the East China Government.
Of course, in the activities participated by the VII Zhangjia Living Buddha, many people discussed the political system and governance policies of the East China Government. Some people strongly opposed the various policies of the East China Government, believing that the various policies of the East China Government are based on Western countries, and it will be difficult for them to last forever if they violate China's traditional moral customs. Some people believe that the East China Government relies entirely on military power, do things in a warlike manner, and act recklessly, and are not the leader of great cause. Of course, some people believe that the East China Government eliminates the disadvantages and promotes the benefits, and turns the old into the new, so that China can be revived.
The East China government has relatively loose control over speech, allowing the public to spread dissatisfied with the East China government to a certain extent, but the control of the media and books is relatively strict. After all, speech is difficult to completely control, but as long as the media is controlled, books can control the dissemination of speech to a smaller range. Moreover, most of the speeches dissatisfied with the East China government are from the position of feudal traditions or landlords, and they are not clear about the general trend of historical development. Therefore, except for venting the resentment and dissatisfaction in their hearts, they basically have no effect.
The seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia ignored these remarks and even if someone asked him about his opinion, he would be talking about him, or he would play Tai Chi to avoid the real and make the false, and use some of the most typical ambiguous words in Buddhism, which covers the clouds and mists and keeps the way. However, in the preaching and reciting activities held in the temple, the seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia would say things like admonishing people to be good, respecting and abiding by the law, and this would never be wrong anyway.
Of course, the VIII Living Buddha also attaches great importance to exchanges with relevant government departments and veterans. After all, they are the people who know the East China Government best. The Beijing government also attaches great importance to the VIII Living Buddha, basically asking questions and answering questions. It also organized two symposiums to seriously explain the history, deeds, policies and principles, origins of the East China Government, and also recommended a large number of books to the VIII Living Buddha.
The Seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia stayed in Beijing for 15 days and also had a comprehensive understanding of the East China Government. Although he is a religious person, he has lived in Beijing for a long time and has a deep understanding of the backwardness, corruption and incompetence of modern China. He also has a certain understanding of the situation of Western countries. Therefore, he can also understand the practices of the East China Government more quickly, although he may not agree in his heart.
At this moment, the monk sent by the 7th-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha to Qingdao also sent a reply. His itinerary in Qingdao was basically arranged. His residence was located in Qingdao Fahai Temple, a relatively ancient temple in Qingdao. It is located in the suburbs of Qingdao and covers an area of about 12 acres. According to the inscriptions in the temple, Fahai Temple was built during the reign of Emperor Wu of Wei. It was named after the commemoration of Master Fahai who founded the temple. It has a history of more than 1,700 years and is less than 20 kilometers away from the central urban area of Qingdao. The transportation is very convenient.
So the seventh-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha also decided to set off and rush to Qingdao to complete the last stop of his eastward ritual. At this time, the monks of the guest came to report that three elders came to visit the seventh-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha, and they claimed that they were personnel from the Construction Department of the Qingdao Executive Yuan Construction Committee.
The seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia knew that the Transportation and Postal Committee was the department responsible for construction, transportation and postal services in the East China Government, which was roughly equivalent to the Ministry of Works. Although he had no intersection with them, the seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia still did not dare to neglect it. After all, the person who came was a veteran. Therefore, the seventh-generation Living Buddha Zhangjia wore a cassock and went out of the temple to greet them, and welcomed the three veterans into the abbot's meditation room to sit.
The three elders are the second male and one female. The male is called Zhang Wenjie, Yao Shanxue, and the female is called Pang E.
After the little novice monk held the tea, the seventh generation Zhangjia Living Buddha said: "I wonder if there is anything wrong with you who are visiting today!"
Zhang Wenjie said: "We are members of the Beijing Urban Modernization Renovation Project Planning and Design Team. We are going to visit the master this time because according to our planning and design, we need to occupy part of the area of Songzhu Temple. Of course, we will make up for the occupied area on the other side to ensure that the temple's footprint remains unchanged and there will be a certain increase. Therefore, we came to negotiate with the master to discuss the renovation of Songzhu Temple."
Although the East China government has not yet planned to relocate from Qingdao to Beijing, the preliminary preparations have begun. To move the government to Beijing, of course, it is necessary to transform Beijing's cities. Therefore, this has also become a hot topic among the elders. Many elders have put forward their own suggestions, and have held heated discussions on whether to demolish the city walls of Beijing, whether to maintain the appearance of the ancient city of Beijing, and so on. There are also elders' proposals that after entering Beijing, each elder will allocate a courtyard house as the residence of the elders in Beijing.
Finally, two months ago, the Elderly Council officially passed the resolution to establish the Beijing Urban Modernization Renovation Project Planning and Design Group, which was responsible for formulating the planning and design of Beijing's urban modernization transformation project. It required that after the renovation, it should be suitable for the residence and transportation conditions after the government moved to Beijing, and also take into account the future development of Beijing, etc.
The leader of the Beijing Urban Modernization Engineering Planning and Design Group is Zhang Wenjie. He has been responsible for the urban transformation planning and design in Tianjin, Qingdao, Jinan and other places, and has rich experience. Of course, the task this time is the most important, so after the group was established, Zhang Wenjie immediately led the team members to Beijing for on-site surveys, drawings, and collecting information.
After more than a month of hard work, the preliminary preparations were basically completed, so everyone began to plan and design, and repeatedly studied and discussed the planning and design plan. In one of the planning plans, part of the area of Songzhu Temple needs to be occupied. Therefore, today Zhang Wenjie came to Songzhu Temple specially. On the one hand, he was on-site to inspect the architecture and terrain of Songzhu Temple, and on the other hand, he also discussed the temple renovation plan with the monks of Songzhu Temple. He happened to meet the seventh-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha also in Songzhu Temple.
Zhang Wenjie explained the situation to him and took out the preliminary renovation drawings of the temple, allowing the 7th-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha to watch, and consult the opinions of the 7th-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha. Of course, Zhang Wenjie also explained that this is just a plan and has not been finalized yet. Perhaps Songzhu Temple does not need to be renovated, and if it is really necessary to be renovated, all costs will be borne by the East China Government.
The seventh generation Zhangjia Living Buddha said: "Although I am the abbot of Songzhu Temple, I have been in the future temple for several years. This time, I am just a temporary stop in Beijing and will set off for Qingdao to celebrate the ceremony. Therefore, everything in the temple is under the responsibility of Zen Master Guangxiu, who is in charge of the presidency. Although you can negotiate with him for other matters, if necessary, Songzhu Temple must fully comply with the work of the entire government."
After hearing this, Zhang Wenjie nodded and said, "Thank you, Master."
The two sides talked casually for a few more words, and it was noon. So the seventh-generation Zhangjia Living Buddha arranged for the monk to be a guest and led Zhang Wenjie and three others to the kitchen for vegetarian meals. After the three of them left, Zen Master Guangxiu said: "Living Buddha, if the government really wants to requisition the area in the temple, do we really want to agree to them!"
The seventh generation Zhangjia Living Buddha smiled faintly and said, "This is natural. Moreover, the government will requisition the area in the temple and will be compensated from his location. The costs will be borne by the government. Why should we stop us?" He paused and said, "What's more, the world today is all governments. Since ancient times, the people have not fought with officials, and even if we don't want to agree!"
Zen Master Guangxiu also smiled bitterly and said, "If you want to make up for the area in the temple, the cost will not be borne by the temple. It will be fine. I am afraid that after the government requisitions the area in the temple, it will turn around and refuse to admit it."
The face of the seventh-generation living Buddha Zhangjia changed slightly, and he immediately returned to normal, saying, "I think the East China Government is very loyal to faith and righteousness, and will do what you say and do what you do. You will never turn your head and refuse to admit it. Just cooperate with all your strength."
After hearing this, Zen Master Guangxiu stopped arguing and said with his hands together: "Yes, respect the Dharma of Living Buddha."
At this time, the monk who was aware of the guest came in and said, "Report to the Living Buddha, after the three donors have finished their vegetarian meals, they must pay. If so, please ask the Living Buddha to show me."
The seventh-generation living Buddha Zhangjia and Zen Master Guangxiu looked at each other, and Zen Master Guangxiu said, "This is indeed the style of an elder. You will never appreciate it easily to show integrity. It's better to charge him a few dollars."
The seventh generation Zhangjia Living Buddha shook his head and said to the monk: "Go and tell the three donors that we will accept this money, but we will treat it as the incense money for the three donors."
