Chapter 44 Car Array(1/2)

The Hudders had a very good grasp of the timing of the raid.

When the attack was launched, the convoy was walking through two mound saddles.

In order to bypass the high ground, the long line twisted into an S-shaped shape. The head and tail were lost in each other's field of vision and could not be looked at each other.

Accompanied by the sound of horns, a team of Hed cavalry rushed out from the back slope of the north slope and penetrated directly into the waist of the convoy.

The long queue that stretched for more than one kilometer led to communication difficulties, and Winters, who was located at the forefront of the convoy, could not see what was happening behind him.

When he noticed something strange, Winters immediately rode his horse and climbed up the west hillside.

The whole picture of the battlefield was revealed before him:

A group of strange cavalry in armor rushed into the middle of the convoy, where the Paratus had been defeated; chaos spread rapidly like wildfires, and some of the courageous militias tried to resist, but were killed by bows and javelins from behind. Everyone was running away, and the warriors died faster; there were not many strange cavalrymen, but they did not fight, and drove the defeated soldiers forward and backward like experienced shepherds.

"Centurion of Montane!" Lieutenant Colonel Jeska rushed to the forefront of the convoy, followed by more than twenty Dusaks.

"Sir!" Winterschi went down the hillside: "There is already chaos in the middle, and the Hurds are driving the defeated soldiers."

The one-eyed Lieutenant Colonel spat: "Of course! The dog god wants to eat us all."

"They don't have many soldiers, so I'll take people over to fight for a round! Maybe there's a turning point!"

"No! Surround the cart! Let's defend here and gather the troops first."

Winters was anxious: "Half of the car is gunpowder! It's all over when they set fire!"

"If you want to set fire, wait now? Do you dare to attack us with dozens of Hurds?" Jeska sneered: "You only hit the waist when you hit people? Hurds are best at attacking the whole thing, they want to swallow it!"

Winters figured out the joints and immediately dispatched the carriage to turn.

Lieutenant Colonel Jeska jumped off his saddle: "Military Flag!"

The flag-holding soldiers presented the brigade of military flags to the lieutenant colonel. Jieshika jumped onto the carriage in a few steps and inserted the cross quadrant military flag of Paratu on the carriage.

"Just hold on here!" The one-eyed lieutenant colonel stood in the carriage and yelled: "Those who are afraid of fighting will be killed without mercy."

The lieutenant colonel had already shown his attitude, and Winters also took the flag of the 100-man team and inserted it into the sack of the carriage.

The trumpeter blew the assembly trumpet, and nearby militias and coachmen rushed towards the military flag.

With two officers as the backbone, the militia and the coachman could know what they should do. One cart after another was untied and led into the center of the cart formation.

The cargo on the car was unloaded so that the musketeers could stand up.

Amid Winters' call, the musketeers were busy loading ammunition, and the spearmen began to reorganize the team.

The double vertical formation naturally has two barriers on the left and right sides. The coachman should try to keep the carriage tight as tight as possible, and the inevitable interval can only be temporarily blocked with a rope.

However, it is extremely difficult to turn the four-wheeled carriage, and it is impossible to close it in a hurry. The gaps in front and back can only be filled with spearmen.

Gradually, the coachman and militia who were fleeing in a hurry were driven to the front troop, most of which were thrown away their weapons.

The military flags flying on the chariot formation immediately caught their eyes.

Behind him was the cruel Hed barbarian. The Palatus, who had a broken heart, found that there was a safe place in front of him, so he rushed to the chariot formation.

"It's safe!" a coachman ran and shouted: "Go to the military flag."

Lieutenant Colonel Jeska cursed when he saw this. He jumped out and knocked the Palatou who was running in the front and vomited blood. Another terrifying slash cut off the yelling driver's head in half.

The rest of the Paratus were stunned by the cruel methods of the one-eyed Lieutenant Colonel.

"Those who attack the formation die!" The blood of the Paratus dripped from Jeska's saber, and he roared at the defeated soldiers: "By the chariot formation!"

The Lieutenant Colonel stood in front of the formation like a water tip. The Paratus who fled in a hurry were divided into two strands. They circled from the north and south wings, and entered the formation from the west.

A Hud cavalry swung his scimitar and slashed all the way, chasing until he hit the chariot formation. He stopped thirty meters away from the chariot formation, feeling a little at a loss.

A musketeer on the cart shook his right hand and the firing rod was pressed. The gunshot sounded, but the Hurd rider was safe and sound.

A gunshot triggered more gunshots, and nervous musketeers shot, and even Winters couldn't stop them.

After continuous gunfire, the smoke of gunfire dissipated, and the Hurd cavalry still sat upright in the saddle.

The Huds laughed wildly, and the harsh laughter hit the courage and spirit of the militia like a hammer.

"Laughing you old lady!" Winters couldn't bear it anymore. He jumped into the cart and shot the Hurd cavalry to death with one shot.

A mass of flesh and blood burst out from the back of the head of the Hud cavalry and fell off the horse straight. They didn't understand why they were shot until they died.

There was a silence in the car array first, and then a deafening cheer burst out.

Winters threw the rifled rifle to Shire with expressionless expression, and Shire reloaded happily.

This thing is easy to use, but it is too expensive and it is too troublesome to load.

The chariot formation was temporarily safe, and Lieutenant Colonel Jeska immediately ordered the preparation of beacon. The militiamen started to collect fodder and horse manure, removed wooden boards from the carriage, and removed gunpowder.

Small groups of cavalry break the supply line is a common method of the Heds, and the Palatus people also have countermeasures. The beacon will be passed through camps along the way, and the nearby Palatus rangers will gather here... to help avenge.

The scattered Heds rushed from the east to the front of the car. Seeing that there was no chance to pluck the horse, they walked back and continued to kill and kill, driving the defeated soldiers of Paratu to the east.

The number of Hurd cavalry was indeed not large, but the spearmen and musketeers who had collapsed organizational skills were unable to protect each other and were almost one-sidedly massacre in the face of the cavalry.

"This won't work." Winters approached Lieutenant Colonel: "I'll take someone to fight for a round."

Jeska understood what Winters meant, and if this continued, they would not be able to gather many people at all.

Stalemate is not a solution, you must defend and counterattack. The temporary car array has no supply reserves, so they will definitely not be able to hold on.

The single-minded Lieutenant Colonel looked at the lieutenant deeply and nodded: "Don't go too far, come back when you hear the sound of gunfire."

This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content later! Winters picked up a spear and jumped into the saddle.

Looking at the faces of more than 20 Dusaks in the car array, he told as calmly as possible: "Don't be afraid, follow me."

The spearman made a way out, and the cavalry roared out of the car formation. Behind them, a thick smoke rose into the sky.

A glimpse of the Palatus attacking, and a Hud cavalry sounded the trumpet.

Two long and two short.

Chasing in the large workshop, the wandering Heds pulled away, and they deliberately avoided head-on battles.

Everyone rides a horse, no one can easily catch up with anyone.

The Hudders' advantage in riding and shooting was reflected, and they maintained a subtle distance and twisted their bodies and shot arrows.

Arrows flew past the Palathu cavalry, and the cavalry kept their bodies as low as possible. The cavalry was not very good at shooting at the right head, but no one was willing to use his life as a bargaining chip to bet on his luck.

Winters's purpose is not to annihilate the enemies, drive them out, and it is enough to cover the Paratus into the chariot formation.

What made him most anxious at this moment was the situation of Bud and Andre:

Andre went to exchange things with the shepherd, and then there was no news; and Bud led the convoy to sweep the tail at the end of the convoy - the end of the convoy containing those vendors who were free to protect, and there were not even a few soldiers around him.

Winters was eager to reach the end of the convoy and confirm Bud's safety.

But after only a few hundred meters, three gunshots were heard coming from the direction of the vehicle array. This was the agreed signal.

Winters gritted his teeth and pulled the reins, and strongly stood up with a loud voice: "Retreat!"

The group of Paratu cavalry turned around and turned back to the car formation on the same route. The Huds who were running in front turned around and followed when they saw this.

There was a rumbling sound of horse hooves coming from the west, and a group of Hed cavalry emerged from the valley on the west side, with more than 40 cavalrymen, with their blade aimed directly at the front of Paratu.

But unexpectedly, they did not find the panicked farmer, but only saw a large cart array surrounded by all sides.

This was a coordinated attack, but the coordination was not done well, giving the Paratus a glimmer of hope.

The Hed people from the west were not mentally prepared to attack the toughest, and hesitated for a while and stopped far away a hundred meters away.

The Heds on the east side bypassed the chariot formation, and the two Heds cavalry gathered.

Winters climbed into the carriage and carefully counted: there were almost sixty horses, some with armor, and only iron helmets and leather jackets.

Roughly estimated that more than half of the Hed cavalry who first launched an attack were here, so Bud might be more relaxed.

"A team of 100?" Lieutenant Colonel Jeska said to himself, waving his hand to order: "Let the musketeers get on the cart."

The Palatou people stepped up their movements to unload the truck, piled up the luggage on the truck in the gap between the horse and the car as a barrier, and the musketeer hurriedly climbed into the car with a coerk.

"Recharge ammunition! Put a chin on the butt stock to aim!" Winters scolded loudly: "Listen to my order, who dares to shoot randomly again, I will kill him!"

Suddenly, the Hud cavalry in the distance moved. Accompanied by strange shouts, the Huds rushed towards the chariot formation with murderous intent.

The charge of six hundred infantry is not as powerful as that of sixty cavalrymen.

In the old days, heavy cavalry could determine the direction of the battle with one impact. Before we could even see blood, spiritual oppression alone was enough to destroy the unstable front.

Accompanied by a loud thunderous thunder, a huge 800-pound mass hit him, and no one was afraid.

Sixty meters, the militiamen were fighting each other and were trembling involuntarily.

"Stay!" Winters yelled with amplification: "Leave the launch rod and wait for my command!" The roar supported by magic actually vaguely overwhelmed the sound of horse hooves.

Fifty meters, the earth seemed to be trembling with the trampling of horse hooves.

"Stay on the front!" The blood of the sword in Lieutenant Colonel Jeska's hand had not dried up yet: "Who dares to run and kill whoever dares to run!"

Forty meters, Winters could already see the Hudders' beard and feathers clearly.

Thirty meters, the Heds turned.
