(Reposted) Zombies in Tibet (Part 1)
Because I sometimes write some zombie characters in my book, I have found some related stories to let everyone enjoy them.
===================================
In the past, the doors of private houses in Lhasa, Shigatse, Linzhi and other areas were very short. Even with gorgeous pavilions, the doors on the ground floor were still relatively short, less than one-third shorter than standard doors. Unless they were children, most people had to bow their heads and bend down to enter and exit. Moreover, the terrain at the door was low inside and high inside, which made the door more surprisingly short, giving people a feeling of serious imbalance in the ratio of the room to the door.
Since the democratic reform, large-scale demolition, the old-fashioned low doors of the past have been left. But now, you can still see ancient low door houses on Barkor Street, Lhasa. This is indeed a mystery for those who are unaware of it. Maybe you will think: "This is a mistake that will not be designed, right?" This is not the case.
1. The origin of the low door house
Building a low-door house is actually a means to prevent zombies from entering. "Wao Lang" is the Tibetan word "Wao Lang" which means that people get up and go around after death, endangering living people. The so-called "Wao Lang" is neither resurrected nor deceived zombies. The Tibetan people refer to "Wao Lang" that some evil or hungry people die, and the rest of their sins have not been exhausted and they have regrets. Therefore, after death, they will raise zombies to complete the remnants of evil life or seek unobtained food. However, they must be realized in a state of intact. In this way, the burial customs in Tibetan areas themselves provide excellent opportunities for zombies.
In Tibetan areas, especially in towns, no matter who dies, they are not sent to the sky burial platform to feed the eagles. Instead, they are placed in their home for a few days to ask monks to recite scriptures and pray, save the dead, and send them to rebirth. The bodies are parked at home for at least three to seven days before they are buried. If a corpse occurs, it is usually during this period.
2. The sign of corpse
Many old men and sky burialists said that they had seen corpses and had seen them many times. However, corpses were not sudden, but were premonitions. The corpses that were about to be swelled, their skin was purple-black, their hair was standing up, and blisters appeared on their bodies. Then they slowly opened their eyes and sat up, then stood up and raised their hands and ran straight forward. All corpses had one common feature: they could not speak, would not bend over, and would not turn their eyes. They could only stare straight ahead and their bodies ran straight forward. If they met a living person, they would "touch the head" with their stiff hands, which would immediately turn the living person to die. This bizarre and terrifying effect was limited to the living person's body, and it would be ineffective for other animals.
People often say that there are five types of corpses: first, skin, second, flesh, these two types of corpses play a role in the skin or flesh. The third type is called "blood", which is caused by its blood. These three types of corpses are easier to deal with. As long as you use knives, guns, arrows and other instruments to stab the skin and flesh, let the blood go out, the corpses fall to the ground immediately without harming people. The fourth type is called "bone rise", that is, the main factor that causes this corpses is in its bones, and only by hurting its bones can it be dealt with. The fifth type is called "mole rise", which means that the reason why it turns it into a mole is caused by a mole on his body. This is the most difficult type to deal with. Before hitting the mole, it can be trampled around to harm people. Therefore, it can only be tempted and annihilated but cannot be captured.
It is said that once upon a time, the host of a temple in Tibet died, and all the monks placed their bodies in the sutra hall of the temple. Then everyone sat in the hall day and night to recite scriptures and prayed, but they did not close their eyes for three days and three nights. On the third night, the monks who were exhausted from chanting could not help but fall asleep, snoring like thunder. One of the timid little monks stared at the owner's body because of KB's heart. In the second half of the night, he suddenly found that the zombie was sitting up. The monk was so scared that he forgot to wake up the monks, rushed out of the door, and turned his back to the temple gate and went to escape. As a result, hundreds of monks in the temple turned into corpses overnight. Fortunately, they could not rush out of the temple gate, but they just rushed inside the temple, which turned the earth.
Later, a hermit with infinite magic power discovered the uncontrollable scene. He wore a cassock, held a magic weapon in his hand, and chanted a spell. He came to the temple alone, opened the temple gate and danced a divine dance. He walked slowly forward while dancing. The corpses were dancing behind him and followed closely. They gradually came to a river. The hermits took the corpses and led them onto the wooden bridge, then took off the robes and threw them into the river. So the corpses jumped into the heart of the river with the robes and never got up again.
Whether it is reality or legend, this undoubtedly creates an invisible pressure on the minds of the Tibetan people. In order to prevent the terrible corpse from rushing in, according to the characteristics of not bending over the corpse, a house with low doors was specially designed and built, which was an obstacle for corpse being raised.
