Chapter 79 The Devil

Gideon Malik was not originally a target worth Michael's personal action. He holds an important position and is of high authority, but the power he really has in Hydra is actually limited. As a member of the special supervisory committee, his responsibilities are more similar to those of the consultants behind the real ruling leaders, rather than personally taking charge of the overall situation.

After Hydra lost power, as all the leaders were eradicated one after another, most members of the supervision committee were invisible under Shirley's ubiquitous vision. An old guy who refused to compromise was executed on the spot, and more people left wisely chose to surrender to the Sky Sword. Only Gideon Malik, the most cunning old guy, guessed that the old Hydra's network might have fallen into the opponent. For such a long time, he had been careful to avoid tracking, and with his remaining remnants in the only shadow, he had not been noticed by the Sky Sword until today.

After Daniel White Hall was exposed and executed by the Sky Sword for a while, the only Hydra remnants in the world who still blindly insisted on their beliefs had no other choice. Gideon Malik was the leader of their no longer existing organization, so many people chose to surrender to him.

But this is still not why Michael decided to take action himself. Gideon Malik attracted his attention because the mission briefing from the Tennessee branch mentioned the "holy objects" circulating in the ancient Hydra.

This part of the content is too old, and there is no electronic information stored in the entire Hydra. Michael specially sent someone to search for files related to "holy relics" from the pile of Hydra archives that he confiscated, and finally found something.

A pile of old paper thrown in the corner of the warehouse records that Hydra was originally born thousands of years ago, with the purpose of rescuing the first alien on Earth from aliens, a guy they believed to be the god of Hydra. The so-called "holy object" is a stone with the ability to open an interstellar portal. Every once in a while, Hydra will send a team of people through the portal to the unknown world, trying to bring their leaders back.

According to the Tennessee branch's report, there are signs that Gideon Malik may have found a way to bring the god back, and may even have succeeded.

There are not too many detailed descriptions in the "god" document, but Michael only needs these.

He remembers who the so-called "god" was. Hive, the end-of-season villain of "Agents of SHIELD" season 3, and there are also some key records of this character in the log documents established earlier after Michael traveled through time.

A hive is basically a collection of a group of parasites that can parasitize and manipulate human bodies and jump from one host to another. He can brainwash the aliens through infection and become his most loyal subordinate, and at the same time, he can also project parasites to devour enemies and turn the target into his own nutrients.

The more enemies it devours, the stronger the power of the hive itself. In the TV series, the hive that devours enough individuals can fight with the powerful hunters among the Kerry people in close combat, and the physical strength is enough to resist the shock wave released by the Shockwave Girl (and it doesn't matter how powerful she is). And he can hardly be killed by conventional means. Since his body is essentially a parasite, even if his body has bone marrow shattered, he can heal himself and recover.

But if you are careful, that may not be the upper limit of the hive power. The play does not explain in detail how many people he has devoured, and the more individuals he devours, the stronger he will become. He can obtain faster speed and stronger power, and theoretically he can become stronger.

Judging from the performance of the TV series alone, it is difficult to assert how powerful the Beehive is, because he never seems to have encountered a close opponent as a benchmark for measuring the whole show. However, Michael is a cautious person and he will not treat any enemy that is likely to become a threat at will. Since this matter has attracted his attention, he will take action to handle the matter carefully and ensure that there are no future troubles left.

Gideon Malik's hiding place is in a forest in Tennessee. He tried his best to use various means and techniques to strengthen anti-tracking, so he avoided it for so long.

Until today.

However, things went smoothly and were a little beyond Michael's expectations. From the time he landed into the base in the dense forest until he broke through all the defenses and rushed into the interior, he almost encountered any decent resistance along the way. The last fortress of Malik was so small that it was a little pitiful, and the armed forces gave people the feeling that they were just a bunch of bandits who were robbing families in the mountains.

They had no energy weapons, no heavy firepower, and even had an automatic turret. The defenders only symbolically shot out some irrelevant Mars on the vibrating armor and were killed and penetrated. In less than a minute, Michael had already entered the heart of the base and walked into Malik's office.

Gideon Malik didn't look panicked at all. He sat upright in an office chair, his expression looking like a sinner who had been enlightened quietly waiting for his own judgment.

"I'm still curious about when you'll come here," said Malik calmly. "I know there will always be such a moment, which is always inevitable. All I do is to keep postponing what must have happened."

"I'm glad you're a person who understands the truth, so let's try to save time." Michael walked into the door, "Now I'm going to ask you some questions. I think you should already know that I have some special methods that make people speak up, but if you're tactful and honest, we can save a lot of trouble."

Malik naturally leaned in his chair back: "I didn't mean to hide anything, because it was no longer necessary."

"That first alien, the thing you believed in as a god," Michael asked, "Did you bring him back?"

Malik nodded mechanically. He said slowly, "You can't imagine, Dr. Norton. You don't know what kind of thing he is. I thought I brought back God, but in fact it was the exact opposite. I brought back a demon, a devil who could not defeat. I thought that those who brought him back would receive rewards, but there was no. He didn't care about Hydra at all, nor did he care about me. I was just an abandoned son who had lost his value to him..."

"I know clearly what a hive is, maybe you know more than you. And this thing is not a god or a devil, but a stranger with some difficulty." Michael interrupted.

Malik opened his mouth and swallowed the second half of the words back.

"What else do you want to know?" he asked.

"The state of the hive, whereabouts," Michael said, "I want to know how many people he has devoured, how strong and endurance he has. And how many Inhumans he has under his command, including the respective abilities of those Inhumans."

"I'm afraid I can't answer everything, because what I know is very limited," said Malik. "I don't know where he is, I report to him rather than to me. I don't know the number and ability of the aliens he can command, but what I can tell you is that there are absolutely many.

By chance, my man discovered a larger gathering place for aliens. I told him this message, and twelve hours ago he took a few of my best men on the plane and left. I don’t know where they are, but what I know is that they will not come back."

"'The Afterlife'." Michael frowned. It was obvious that the hive was heading towards the isolated alien population. He considered the bad side that all the aliens in that place might have been infected and surrendered by him.

In this way, the hive will instantly control an invincible army, all composed of aliens with extraordinary abilities.

"What did you say?" Malik was puzzled.

"Nothing, you keep going." Michael said, "Where is the hive? How is his own condition?"

"It's meaningless to say this to you, Dr. Norton. I told you that he is a devil with great powers, and even a person like you is not his opponent." Malik shook his head, "After he came back from the door, I sent him a lot of people as nourishment. There were men, women, whites, blacks, and strong people from all kinds of ethnic groups. If it was added up, I think he might have swallowed hundreds of people. He was so powerful that you could imagine, but in fact... I think no one could stop him."

Hundreds of people... Michael thought.

"Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Malik. But I'll just worry about this part of stopping him."

He raised his hand, and the palm pulse light cannon had completed the energy gathering.

Malik's face was calm, as if he had seen through life and death: "It's up to you, I don't care anymore."
