21. Wake up(1/2)

I don’t know how long I have been sleeping, but the chaotic consciousness is like being placed in cold water. It should have been a very bad experience, but the blocked body cannot sense all this, so the soul can only take care of it.

Maybe it was a day, maybe it was a month, at a certain silent moment, Merlin's soul trapped in the dark suddenly saw a ray of light.

A gentle call came from the light, like a warm hand holding Merlin's helpless soul.

Then he dragged him back to the warm world little by little from the silence of the dark quagmire that gathered in silence.

"Swish"

He opened his eyes.

Light.

The light shining from the window hit his face, causing Merlin's eyes to close again the next moment.

The light of the setting sun was still a bit too dazzling for him now.

It took him several minutes to get used to the light. His eyes were dry and, under the stimulation of the light, they continued to secrete liquid, which made Merlin's vision very blurred.

It's just like the uncomfortable ghosting that happened when I was just infected by the magic of darkness.

I can't see anything clearly.

Fortunately, the dark perception is still there.

Meilin closed his eyes, and he felt a little awkward, spreading his dark perception out, and shrouding it little by little in the ward covered by the sunset light.

This house is a bit weird.

Its walls are made of metal, and there are basically no decorations inside except for those survival equipment. It looks very simple and a little empty.

Merlin tried to spread the dark perception further, but perhaps because of his body being too weak, a tear-like pain would come from his body when he increased the infusion of magic.

This means that his body is unable to perform such movements at present.

Merlin had no choice but to give up his plan to explore the surroundings.

He didn't know how long he had slept, but it was undoubtedly a very difficult behavior to regain control of his body after a long coma.

Every muscle of his limbs and muscles is like an old gear that lacks oil lubrication, and even his moving fingers seem very awkward. Merlin feels like he is operating an old computer with constant problems. Every time he enters a command, he needs to wait for several seconds before his body can react.

Worse, there was a tube that helped him breathe, deep into his nostrils, which made him feel extremely uncomfortable now.

He had to find a way to get this thing out.

“It won’t be difficult”

While quickly adapting to his poor health, Merlin said to himself:

"Come on, it only takes a few minutes to do it."

It took him nearly 15 minutes to bend the fingers of his left hand.

It took about 5 minutes to curl up my arms.

After another 5 minutes passed, Merlin finally grabbed the tube that was inserted into his nostril with trembling.

Three minutes later, he pulled the tube out of his body.

This simple action put Merlin under great pressure. He gasped and supported his trembling hands on the hospital bed, allowing himself to sit up little by little. Until then, Merlin discovered that there was a strange feeling between his legs.

He lifted the quilt and looked at it. The next moment, he made a desperate voice:

"Oh my God."

More than ten minutes later, Meilin pushed the infusion rack beside his bed and moved himself to the window of the ward little by little.

Merlin's movements were staggering, like an old man who was drooping, but since he woke up, he was quickly re-adapting to his body. This means that Merlin's body has basically no major problems except for some muscle atrophy and some weakness.

But this is just a manifestation.

At least Merlin himself knew that something was integrated into his blood vessels and his body.

Gravityonium

That thing was the culprit that caused him to fall into a long coma, and I don't know if Dr. Hall had developed a solution to his problem.

With this worry, Meilin opened the curtains, and the next moment, a scene of lonely smoke from the desert appeared in front of him.

At dusk, the shocking golden light of Meilin shone on the Gobi and mountains in a splashing posture, as if it was covering the earth with the most gorgeous clothes. This was probably the most beautiful moment of the day in this place.

Merlin was a little grateful, it seemed that it was time for him to wake up.

And he also knew where he was now from the familiar hill in front of him.

“Is the base of Pagasos?”

Merlin lay on the windowsill and said softly:

"I really have a destiny to this place."

"Bang"

Just as Merlin was feeling, behind him, the door of the ward was pushed open.

Eric, who was holding supper in his hand, pushed the door and walked in. He looked up and saw Merlin standing by the window, bathed in the dusk sunshine, smiling at him.

"Bang"

The supper in the young man's hand fell to the ground. Fortunately, it was protected by lunch boxes and plastic bags, so that it would not fall to the ground.

"Hi, Eric. How are you doing lately?"

Meilin looked at the dull young man in front of him. After a long time no see, this guy has become much more mature. He has a pair of round-frame glasses on his nose and a beard. He looks gentle, but the hair on his head is combed into small braids, which makes Meilin a little dissatisfied.

This kind of hair is called dreadlocks, which is a culture-like inheritance method for black people, but Merlin does not like this kind of hair.

Faced with Merlin's friendly greetings, Eric reacted several seconds later. He raised his hand and waved to Merlin.

"Hello, Merlin, long time no see you"

"But since you can walk by yourself, why not put on your pants?"

Merlin is certainly not an exposure maniac. In fact, Eric's statement also has some problems.

Merlin was not wearing pants. He just didn't find his own clothes in this room, only a pair of boxers. Moreover, his current physical condition was not allowed to wear too complicated clothes.

"You bastard, don't tell this, do you know?"

Merlin lay on the bed, holding a spoon of fruit porridge tremblingly, while saying to Eric who was smiling beside him:

"If you dare to talk nonsense everywhere, you will be dead!"

"I promise not to say anything, I promise puff, hahahaha!"

Eric tried hard to maintain a serious expression, but when he saw the windbreaker on Merlin, he thought of Merlin's image just now. He could no longer help it, and he laughed while covering his stomach.

A few seconds later, under Merlin's expressionless gaze, Eric hurriedly sat upright. He coughed a few times and said to Merlin:

"Okay, I won't talk about your dark history everywhere, don't worry."

"You can try it, you're at your own risk."

Meilin retracted his gaze. Without eating water and rice for a long time, the ordinary fruit porridge in his hand seemed to have become delicious. While comforting his weak body with food, he leaned against the bed and asked softly:

“What time is now?”

"Well."

Eric took out his cell phone and looked at it, saying to Merlin:

“At 6 pm.”

"No, what month?"

Merlin looked at Eric:

"I mean, how long have I been in a coma?"

Merlin's question made Eric feel a little silent. He flipped the screen of his phone and placed it in front of Merlin. He said:

"It's June 19, 2000, and you've been in a coma for a full 9 months."

"9 months"

Merlin closed his eyes, and at this moment, he lost interest in eating.

Eric didn't know how to comfort Merlin. Life was so long, I lost 9 months at once, which must be awful. Moreover, before Eric was allowed to enter the base to take care of Merlin, he also learned about the whole process of Merlin's injury from Merlin's colleagues.

This smart child probably guessed the reason why Merlin was silent.

"Afghanistan"

A few minutes later, Meilin asked in a dreamy voice:

"The war has begun?"

"No, no."

Eric's expression changed a little, and he said:

"Two months after you were sent back, the civil war in Afghanistan ended. Now an armed group called "alpha" holds the power of that country."
To be continued...
