Chapter 248 Two ghosts

I hurriedly followed Lan Ning's finger and saw a large piece of rice-grained stone standing there. From a distance, it seemed not much different from other stones. The color was slightly yellow, covered with biting marks, and some peeling pieces were scattered beside them.

"Is there any mystery?" I asked Lan Ning.

"Young Master, don't ask too much. Let's go over and take a look." Lan Ning suddenly blinked at me and whispered.

I was puzzled and walked over with Lan Ning without realizing it.

We walked carefully at the stone under our feet and walked to the stone that Lan Ning mentioned, but I didn't find anything. This stone, or the grain of rice, seemed to be no different from the one next to us.

I was about to ask, but Lan Ning raised his finger at me, made a silence, then quietly walked around the stone, looked around, suddenly covered his mouth and smiled, waved at me, and signaled me to go over.

I became more and more confused. What kind of mystery is Lan Ning doing? Is there anything interesting under the stone?

I walked over and looked down at the stone, and couldn't help but smile. Because just under the stone, there was a ghost lying on it.

The ghost's posture is quite funny. The whole head is drilled under the stone. It seems that it is trying to hide itself, but its butt and body are exposed outside, just like an ostrich, and trembling all over, looking very scared. After a closer look, the ghost turned out to be a big belly, just like a pregnant one. No wonder it can't get in.

There is actually a ghost living in this place. I thought that those ghosts were all in the wall of the old lady's room and were eaten by the yellow men summoned by Shao Peiyi, but I didn't expect...

"Come out, you have been discovered and can't hide it." Lan Ning said with a fierce look on her waist, but she is still a kind woman by nature, and she can't be fierce, and she is much worse than the type of Jieyu.

The ghost did not listen to her, but instead twisted her body and drilled deeper. I was amused and pulled it out with my hand, fluttering, throwing it to the side. The ghost screamed, looked at us with a look of fear, and sat on the ground with a thump, trembling all over.

This ghost is silly, not tall, with a dazed face, and looks a little careless. I was amused, and I kept my face straight and asked, "Where are you? You have come here. How many ghosts are there? What is your purpose? Answer honestly, otherwise you will suffer."

I looked like a cold-eyed look at the paradise and shouted with a serious face. For ghosts, they are generally bullying the weak and afraid of the strong. Only by being a little tough can I make the ghost respond honestly, otherwise if I can't scare it, it will scare me.

However, the ghost didn't react much, and seemed to be frightened. He looked at me blankly and then looked at Lan Ning. He seemed to have no idea what to say. He kept looking to the side, and his mouth opened several times, but he didn't say a complete sentence, and his face was full of nervousness.

Seeing that it didn't speak, I asked a few more times, but the result was the same. This ghost not only didn't speak, but didn't even have the intention to cooperate with me. He was restless and glanced around in a random look, as if he wanted to escape at all times.

Its performance made me a little curious. It would be fine if it didn't speak, but it always looked at something and wanted to escape?

Lan Ning and I looked at each other, curiously looking to the side with its gaze, but suddenly I found that something seemed to move quietly below where it was lying just now.

Lan Ning had quick eyes and shouted immediately: "There is one below!"

My hands were fast enough, so I rushed over and reached in, grabbing and lifting them, and I immediately caught another thin and dry ghost. However, this guy was obviously much smarter. As soon as he was caught, he started to shout for mercy.

"Sister Fairy, please spare me..."

I was both angry and funny, so I threw it to the ground and cursed: "I blinded your eyes, who is the fairy sister?"

The ghost turned over and fell to the ground, but he knelt on the ground, his eyes rolled around. He probably saw clearly that there were two people standing in front of him, one man and one woman, and immediately kowtowed and shouted: "Two great immortals, please spare my life. I am just a poor little ghost. Let me eat some food here, beg for the great immortals for compassion, don't kill me..."

It shouted here for mercy, and the silly ghost next to it also knelt down like it, bowing constantly, and was babbling in his mouth, but he couldn't hear clearly.

I waved my hand and said, "Be honest. Whether you can survive depends entirely on your own attitude. Since you are living here, I will ask you a few words. If you answer well, you can survive. If you dare to fool me, I will be very angry."

The two of them kowtowed like pounding garlic and begging for mercy. It seemed that they regarded Lan Ning and me as gods. I didn't say it out loud, so they asked him three questions: First, why are they here? Second, where are the other ghosts? Third, what is the skull in the wall?

After asking, the two ghosts stared at me with big eyes, but no one spoke. I looked around and pointed directly at the smarter ghost and said, "You will answer the question, I'll let you go first."

The ghost responded repeatedly, his face full of joy, and hurriedly told his situation.

It said that it was actually just a small hungry ghost, and an external ghost, wandering in the open wilderness. For about hundreds of years, I had never seen water before, and I had eaten even less. Due to the induction of karma, whenever it walked to the fruit tree, the tree would dry up into firewood in its eyes. Whenever it saw food, the food would rot, or many guardians would appear to drive it away and prevent it from getting close.

In this way, after many years, it suffered a lot, but in a day it accidentally heard the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Six-Syllable Mantra. So it immediately got a certain degree of liberation, and its soul came here floating around. It saw clear water and white rice. So it was overjoyed and plunged in, and never went out again.

Another ghost is an instinct ghost. This kind of ghost is different from an external ghost. It can eat food, but its throat is as thin as the eye of a needle, and its abdomen is large in the basin. It is always empty-handed. It is basically the same as not eating. Once you drink some water and eat some food, you have to endure the pain of the burning flames in the belly at night. In addition, many little hungry ghosts are often parasitized on the body of the instinct ghost, which is even more painful.

The two of them got together by chance, so they both stayed because not only were there food here, but there were also people chanting scriptures day and night, and often listened to the names and scriptures of Bodhisattvas, and the pain was relieved a lot. Originally, the instinct ghost could not even make a sound because his throat was too thin, so he could also simply say some monosyllable words.

However, there are actually many hungry ghosts coming and going in this place, but they all leave after eating and they don’t stay there. So the external obstacle ghost is very happy. He stays here secretly, and his food is more than other ghosts. As for the internal obstacle ghost, it is because of the external obstacle ghost’s sympathy and the internal obstacle ghost is a bit stupid. In fact, the external obstacle ghost doesn’t want to see it go out to suffer, so he finds a way to keep it. Therefore, although the place here is big, there are only two of them.

Later, the old lady who gave food to the hungry ghosts died somehow. The night before leaving, she happened to prepare such a last glass of water and rice. So these hungry ghosts survived until now. If they spend another year or two, the last food will be gone. It is estimated that the hungry ghosts will feel resentful and the consequences will be unimaginable.

The words of this external ghost basically explained my first two questions. For the last question, about the skull, it seemed that it couldn't explain it clearly, but in the end, it frowned and thought for a long time, and told me that those other hungry ghosts did not stay here like it, which should be related to the skull on the wall, because that thing seemed to have a very strange summoning power, which could make the soul involuntarily want to integrate into it. It has always known the existence of the skull and was also very scared. And it was because of this reason that it chose to stay.

I couldn't help but slap this guy. This guy is really smart. It turns out that it stayed for food, and also for avoiding disaster.

At this moment, I decided that I would call it a clever man in the future. I asked it with a smile, since it knows the existence of the skull, then who put the skull should know, right?

But this time, this clever and clever ghost shook his head and told me that when it came, the skull was there, so it had no way to know it, but it was certain that this was a harmful thing, similar to Miaojiang's witchcraft, or spells like ghosts.

I nodded. The words should be the truth and there was no lie, but unfortunately, they were not very clear.

But this is not important. Investigation is like peeling off a cocoon, and there will always be a day when the truth is revealed.

Lan Ning smiled and said to me, it seems that this old lady is really a good person, but it's a pity that she seemed to be harmed by someone.

I nodded and agreed with her opinion. The old lady gave food to her is a matter of great merit, but she died unexpectedly in just two years. This situation is actually a bit abnormal, but I didn't say anything. Looking at the two ghosts kneeling in front of me, I already had an idea in my mind...
