Chapter 247 Hungry Ghosts Feeding
Aunt Xu was so scared by Mr. Luo’s conversation with us and the whole story, so she told us some of the old lady’s things over the past two years in her intermittent memories.
She said that the old lady believed in Buddhism and had a stubborn personality, but she was very kind and treated people well. Moreover, the old lady became obsessed with Buddhism. She tried her best to accumulate virtue and do good deeds all day long. She went to the temple to burn incense and worship Buddha every week. She also invited Maitreya Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva to come back in the temple and worship him day and night at home.
Also, it has been a long time since the old lady placed clear water and white rice in front of the Buddha's silhouette. Not only did it, the old lady often made some food, not only offered to the Buddha, but sometimes she had to take it outside and placed it at the intersection.
Aunt Xu has always been very confused. Since the old lady believes in Buddhism, why should she eat and eat at the intersection? Do you sacrifice to ghosts? Every time she asks curiously, the old lady always doesn't say it, but also tells Aunt Xu that people should accumulate virtue for the next life, and that all living beings must have an equal heart.
Aunt Xu has been to school very little and doesn't understand the old lady's meaning, but she understands that what the old lady does is not a bad thing. If she says that the old lady is doing something witchcraft that harms people, she will say that she doesn't believe anything.
When she said this, I suddenly seemed to understand something. Before she could finish her words, she hurried into the room and checked it in the old lady's room. At this time, the mold spots on the walls of the room had become blurred, and it became like it was dark and tide after a rainy day. Although the room was brightly lit, it was still very chilling.
I walked to the Buddha's niche, stared at the clear water and white rice on it, concentrated my energy, and patrolled it on it. I knew that these two things had been in the room where these ghosts lived for so long, and there must be something that I could discover.
Because, Aunt Xu's words just now reminded me that if the clear water and white rice were not offered to Buddha, the only purpose of this should be to sacrifice to ghosts.
I calmed down and let myself slowly enter that wonderful microscopic world. The white rice and clear water in front of me gradually magnified, and the surroundings were silent, and everything was quiet, or everyone's voice was not made, or everyone's voice was automatically blocked by me at this time.
Slowly, the white rice became bigger and bigger in my eyes, from a small white rice to a slightly yellow stone-like thing the size of a fist. Every edge and every bump on it was so clear. I even clearly saw that there were countless tiny tooth marks and defects on it, as if it had been eaten by many people, so that the white rice was uneven.
And the cup of clear water had turned into a small pool. In this moment, I heard the sound of water that was almost inaudible. The cold wind in the room had not completely dissipated and whisked the water surface. The clear water seemed calm, but in fact it had extremely subtle ripples.
My heart was already shocked by this scene, but I still didn't give up. I continued to activate my mental power, focus my eyes on the clear water and white rice again, and then they continued to expand. In just a few breaths, my mind was filled with these two things.
Suddenly, a light flashed in the dark, piercing the eyes and pierced into the sea of consciousness. Suddenly, my mind felt a stinging pain, so I quickly stopped consciousness for a while and closed my eyes. After a while, the light gradually weakened. When I opened my eyes again, I found myself standing next to a lake, with white stones covered with the ground on one side, the sky was covered with gray fog, and there was silence around me.
I was very surprised. After looking closely, I saw the teeth marks and unevenness on the stones. Then I realized that these were the white rice. The slightly green lake beside me was filled with many green flocs like hair floating inside, so naturally it was the cup of clear water that had been in half a year.
At this moment, I was completely in it!
I stood by the lake in shock, and was stepping on an irregular rice-like stone under my feet. I looked around in a daze and looked at the stones around me like hills. I was stunned. Originally, I just wanted to concentrate my energy and see the mystery and mystery here, but I didn't expect that I could enter this wonderful world directly.
I stepped on the stone tentatively and walked forward a few steps. I felt that my whole body was light and there was a black wind blowing by the sky. I couldn't help but shivering. What kind of place is this? Could it be that my consciousness really came to the clear water and white rice?
I calmed down and looked around, but there was no one in sight. I couldn't help but frown, looked around, leaned over and picked up a piece of scattered stone, or rice fragments, saw the lake next to me, and threw it in.
With a light "plop", a splash of water was aroused from the mirror-like lake. After the stone was thrown into the water, it floated up immediately, but it did not sink to the bottom, floating in the water.
I was even more surprised. At this moment, my waist suddenly moved, as if something was trying to drill out. I hurriedly opened the Qiankun bag, and a white light flew out from it. After turning in front of me, I turned into a handsome girl in white. A white light flashed and looked closely, but it was Lan Ning who had not seen for a long time.
At this time, Lan Ning no longer had the appearance of a female ghost lingering in her body. She had a faint white light, her smile as if she was like a flower, and she looked like a cute girl. After she came out, she bowed to me Yingying, and said happily, "Young Master, how did you find this place? I like this place very much..."
I said strangely, "No, this is a place for worshipping ghosts. Haven't you been practicing in the palace of God Xiezhi? How could you like it?"
Lan Ning said: "Young Master, you don't know that although this place looks so powerful, it is not a place to worship ghosts. Moreover, there is the breath of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the Buddha spirit energy of the Buddha realm. Although I have cultivated some spiritual energy in the palace of the God of Xiezhi, I have gradually removed the ghost body, but this kind of Buddha spirit energy is more useful to my cultivation. You must not forget that Buddhism emphasizes the salvation of sentient beings. Besides, this is the place where Buddhas and Bodhisattvas give food. Although many ghosts gather and the yin energy is a little heavy, it is more of the ghost's gratitude and recitation of virtue and the pious heart of worship. If the ghost stays here for a long time, it will gradually clear the sins and be liberated and be saved."
Lan Ning chattered and said a lot of words, and then I suddenly realized that this was a place for food delivery.
In fact, giving food is a Buddhist term, which means giving food to others. This object includes humans, animals, hungry ghosts, etc. Giving food will bring you a lot of merit.
Moreover, the food that is now mentioned in Buddhism generally refers to giving to all living beings in the hungry ghost realm. Therefore, giving food to hungry ghosts is also called giving food to hungry ghosts, and giving food to them.
This is a kind of compassionate act. It actually takes very little time and money, but the merit is great. Just like releasing animals, it is of immeasurable merit. Many people have obtained good rewards because of giving food, such as fulfilling wishes, increasing wealth, good health, and gaining more special sensing abilities.
Because there are countless hungry ghosts in the hungry ghost realm, they have no food for a long time and suffer all the pain. Some of them are skinny and bones, and if they are burnt dead trees, they are only skin and bones. Some have small mouths and throats, but their stomachs are very large. Therefore, even if they have food, they can eat very little things in their stomachs by relying on themselves, and they cannot eat enough at all.
They can't live, they can't die, they are very pitiful, even forced by hunger, harming each other, and eating the brains of other hungry ghosts. As their sins increase, it becomes more and more difficult to escape from the sea of suffering.
Therefore, there are many Buddhist monks and disciples who often give food. Some hold ceremonies in temples, some use some simple food and water to donate to the hungry ghost realm sentient beings in the grass and trees in the wild, or in empty places. Of course, other sentient beings are also included. Because the Buddhist scriptures say that in the vast world, every grain of dust is a small world, and there are countless sentient beings in it, which is not something that humans can tell with the naked eye.
Thinking of this, I understood the intention of the old lady putting clear water and white rice in front of the Buddha's tile at home, which was to give food to hungry ghosts and thousands of sentient beings. However, this behavior of giving food at home is not actually supposed. Because people with insufficient merit and magic power will not be able to give food to hungry ghosts even if they attract hungry ghosts to give food to them. Those hungry ghosts are hungry people, and it is difficult for people who are anxious to deal with them, let alone those who are anxious to get hungry ghosts, so this is a certain danger.
There is another saying, which is to give food at home, that is, treat your home as a relief station to help hungry ghosts. At that time, hungry ghosts gather at home, and their yin energy is too heavy, it will not be good for people's health. If you spend a long time, you will suffer.
Simply put, when giving food at home, you must be highly moral, otherwise you will overestimate yourself and cause trouble.
I can no longer know whether the old lady is morally profound, nor whether the old lady's death is related to these hungry ghosts. However, judging from the fact that the white rice of clear water was placed in front of the Buddha's silhouette, the old lady obviously took a unique approach and came up with a way to restrain hungry ghosts, that is, to borrow the power and aura of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to suppress hungry ghosts, and at the same time, she can also use the vows of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to save all living beings to help these hungry ghosts get rid of their sins. So from this point of view, the old lady did take a lot of effort and was indeed a great good person.
Standing in front of the lake turned into clear water and the stones turned into white rice, I suddenly felt very moved. For this magical world and for the hungry ghosts who were given food, I have to say that they are all lucky. Now it seems that the traces of biting on the rice grain stones are all for the sake of those hungry ghosts.
But I still don’t understand, what does all this have to do with that skull?
I thought about it for a while, and then told Lan Ning all the previous things. I hope she can help me analyze this matter from a soul perspective.
However, Lan Ning told me that there is no need to analyze it yourself, so it is so troublesome. If you are more attentive, you will naturally find the answer in this small world.
I asked her in surprise, where to start? Lan Ning smiled without saying a word, observed around, and suddenly pointed to a large piece of rice-grained stone and said to me.
