Little Grey Goose Dunfin(1/3)

Little gray goose Deng Fen

The city floating on the water

Friday, May 6

No bird can be more gentle and kind than the little gray goose Deng Fen.

All the geese liked her, and the white geese were even willing to die for her.

When Deng Fen asked for help, even Aka couldn't bear to refuse her.

When the geese came to Lake Melaren, the little gray geese Deng Fen immediately recognized that this was a familiar place.

Not far from the lake is the sea. There are many islands with trees on the sea. On one of the small islands, her parents and brothers and sisters live.

Before flying north, she begged the geese to come to her house first so that she could let her family know that she was still alive.

If they saw her, they would be very happy.

Aka told her openly that she felt that Dunkfen's parents and siblings abandoned her on the island of Erran and did not show any love for her at all.

But Deng Fen doesn't think Aka's idea is correct.

"They saw that I couldn't fly with them, what could they do?"

She said, "They can't stay on the island of Oland for me!"

Deng Fen then began to tell the geese about her home on the archipelago in a variety of ways, in order to convince them to fly there to take a look.

Her family lives on a rocky island.

From a distance, there was nothing on the island except rocks.

But when people get closer, they will find that between the cracks of the rocks or among the groves full of willow branches, it is actually a good place for birds to build nests there.

But the greatest benefit of all the benefits is that there is a fisherman living there.

Deng Fen once heard that when he was young, he was an excellent hunter and often hunted birds on the island.

But when he was old, his wife passed away, and the children left, and he lived alone in a small house, and he began to care about the birds on the island.

He never shot them again, nor allowed others to do so.

He often walks around the bird's nest, and when the female birds hatch eggs in their nests, he brings them food.

The birds were not afraid of him at all, they all liked him.

Deng Fen had been to his cottage several times, and he had fed her with bread crumbs.

Because he is very kind and friendly to the birds, countless birds come to the island, making it crowded.

In late spring, if any birds come a little late, you will find that all the nests are filled with other birds.

This is why Deng Fen's parents had to abandon her.

Deng Fen's plea was so firm that she finally got what she wanted. Although the geese thought they had wasted time, they should have flew directly north.

But it's only a trivial journey to this tiny rocky island, which shouldn't take them more than a day.

So one morning, after enjoying breakfast beautifully, they set off and flew eastward across Lake Melaren.

The boy didn't know where they were flying, but he noticed that the more they flew eastward, the more lively the lake and the more buildings there were on the shore.

Flat-bottomed cargo ships and sloops, as well as small steamers and fishing sailboats, were busy heading eastward, and passing these ships were many beautiful white steam ships.

On the lake shore are country roads and railroad tracks, which extend forward in the same direction as the ships.

It seemed that somewhere far to the east, all the cars and ships advanced there early in the morning.

The boy saw a magnificent white castle on one of the islands, and on the shore of the lake next to it, there were many villas for summer vacations.

At the beginning, these villas were just one or two, sparse, but became increasingly dense. In the end, these villas were densely packed with the entire lake shore.

These villas have different shapes, some are castles, some are farmhouse-style small villas, and then there are relatively low manors, followed by mansions with many small spires.

Some villas have gardens, but more are located in the jungle on the shore of the lake.

Despite their different appearances, they all have one thing in common, that is, they are not as plain and solemn as other buildings, but are painted in brightly colored green and blue, as well as red and white like children's dollhouses.

Just as the boy sat on the back of the goose and looked down at the villas on the lakeshore, Deng Fen suddenly couldn't help but screamed in joy: "Now I recognize the place where I lived! It's in this city floating on the water."

When the boy heard this, he couldn't help but look forward.

He didn't see anything at first sight, only a faint cloud floating and rolling on the lake. However, when he looked carefully, he saw the tall spire, followed by houses with rows of windows.

They appear and appear in the clouds and mists.

But he couldn't see any shadow on the lake shore.

Everything was shady and hazy, as if floating on the water.

The closer he got to the city, the less he could see a house like a children's dollhouse, all he could see was a dim and dirty factory.

A large pile of coal and trees were piled behind tall fences, and large cargo steamers were arranged along the docks that were black smoked by coal.

But almost all of this was shrouded in transparent clouds with shining light. Everything looked big and strong, and looked very wonderful, almost giving people a sense of beauty.

The geese flew past these factories and cargo steamers, approaching the spire surrounded by clouds.

Suddenly, all the mist seemed to sink to the water, leaving only thin wool-like clouds floating on their heads, dyed beautiful blue and pink by the dawn.

Other clouds roll and float on the water and on the land.

They completely cover the lower half of the house.

Only the upper half of the house is vaguely visible on the roof and gables.

Some buildings are as tall as the Tower of Babel.

The boy had no doubt at all that they were built on hills and mountains, which of course he could not see.

All he could see was like houses floating on white clouds.

In fact, these buildings are black and dirty because the sun in the east does not shine on them.

The boy knew that they were flying over a huge city, because he saw tall spires and roofs standing in all directions.

The lingering clouds and mist occasionally revealed a gap. Through this gap, he saw a river rushing downwards.

But he didn't see the land.

Everything here looks extremely beautiful, but he is distracted, just like the mentality of people when they see unreasonable scenes.

After flying away from the city, he found that the ground was no longer covered by clouds and the lake shores, streams and islands were once again clearly visible.

He turned his head and wanted to take a closer look at the city, but was quite disappointed, because the city now looked like it was being cast with magic.

Under the sunlight, the colors of the rolling clouds turned into bright red, blue and yellow.

All the houses were white and seemed to be caused by light, with windows and spires shining like fire.

Everything floated on the water as I saw just now.

The geese flew straight eastward.

They flew past factories and factories, and then through villas lined up on the lake shore.

Steamer and tugboats were crowded with water, but these ships were only coming from the east and heading west towards the city.

The geese continued to fly forward, and at their feet were no longer the narrow Bay of Melaren Point and the small islands, but wider water and larger islands.

Finally, this large area of land was left behind and could not be seen.

They continued to fly forward for a while, and now they could no longer see the inhabited islands, and all that was left was the countless small rocky islands scattered on the water.

Now these capes and bays are no longer surrounded by land, and the ocean is right in front of them, with a vast and boundless nature.

The geese landed on a rocky island. As soon as they landed, the boy couldn't wait to turn his head and look at Deng Fen and said, "What's the name of the city we just flew past?"

“I don’t know how humans call it,” said Deng Fen. “We gray geese call it ‘a city floating on the water’.”

sisters

Deng Fen (meaning beautiful feathers) has two sisters, one is called Meiliying and the other is called Jinying.

They are all strong and intelligent birds, but none of them are as soft and shiny as Deng Fen's body, nor are they as kind and gentle as her kind and gentle temperament.

Since they were young yellow-haired geese, their parents, relatives, and even the old fisherman have shown that Deng Fen is their true favorite geese.

Therefore, her sisters have been indignant about her.

When the geese landed on the rocky island, their beautiful wings and golden eyes were searching for food on the meadow near the seashore, and they immediately saw the group of strange guests.

"Sister Golden Eyes, look, these beautiful and charming geese have come to our island!"

Beautiful Wings said in surprise, "I rarely see those elegant and beautiful birds.

Have you noticed it?

Among them is a big white goose?

Have you ever seen a bird that is more handsome than him?

People really think of him as a swan!”
