Chapter 1234 Some rum

A charred armored personnel carrier swayed and slowly drove into the battlefield where bullets flew everywhere.

The Martian technician in red robe stood fearlessly on the machine gun position, relying on the reforged heavy explosive bomb bracket to shoot at the Trinity firepower site. The driver also pulled the trigger. The double-tube heavy explosive bomb in front of the armored vehicle also began to spit out half a meter-long flame tongue and supersonic bullets. The sandbag and 50mm homogeneous steel plate were constructed into a solid barricade. Under the point 75-caliber heavy explosive bomb, it was as fragile as a beach sand castle. The huge amount of dust and the sparks generated by the explosion of the warhead were spread all over the sky. Supiluliumas breathed a sigh of relief. He could finally stop protecting Queen Paiditi for the time being and join the real combat mission.

Anuratu squatted behind the prefabricated fortifications in tears, clenched his fists and hit Supiluliumus's leg armor hard. The skin of his palm became bloody because of the roaring face and lightning carved on the leg armor. The battle was beyond her expectations at the beginning. She saw the tribal warriors being hit by the weapons of the "colonists" (the indigenous people called Holy Trinity). The flesh and bones were penetrated and shattered by high-speed flying metal, and finally fell down like a rag doll, and bullets rushed around in the narrow fire zone.

If it weren't for the protection of the Imperial Guard and the "outsider" (the indigenous people called Camilla Squad) who brought a "shield" (referring to a gray prefabricated fortification plate with shooting holes), she and the remaining tribal warriors would have been beaten to pieces by the "colonists" army. What shocked her even more was the battle between a pitch-black "iron bird" (referring to the Apache armed helicopter) and a golden "iron bird" (referring to the suspended gunboat of the Imperial Guards). The two of the same size fought in the air, but the latter was much more flexible than the former.

With a loud bang, the pitch-black "Iron Bird" turned into a burning scrap iron sinker towards the ground, triggering a violent explosion that shocked the earth, killing mercenaries in groups. The believers of the Kukulkan Cult Group, rocks and trees, and thick smoke almost flooded the entire highland. Knowing that Paiditi was closed and backward, Anuratu accepted this fact, she knew that Paiditi was involved in a war between outsiders and outsiders, and outsiders and Paiditi.

The Venom of War was as early as the moment when Paiditi's ancestors accepted the mission and the colonists brought the Church of San Juan, they used blood ties, culture and faith to penetrate into the blood vessels of the people living on this land, twisting them to this day. The reason why Amaru wanted to destroy outsiders was because he knew that the outsiders were far stronger than the Spanish colonists, and the backward Paiditi would never defeat them; the Imperial Guard and his master wanted to protect the outsiders and destroy the mission that Paiditi had always passed on through blood ties and the outsiders behind Amaru.

Anuratuben did not want to support either of them, but reality forced her to take sides.

She did not expect that the god-like warrior, the golden-armored war machine guard Supiluliumas, did not lead the army to overcome obstacles and demonstrated its powerful combat ability to destroy the enemy's defense line as she imagined. He had been wandering around the edge of the battlefield, specifically choosing targets that threaten tribal warriors to behead them, or looking for some more weird and so-called "polluting" believers of Kukulkan. Only after repeatedly turning a certain firepower into a flesh-and-blood mill and the colonists were afraid of it, would he lead the Camilla team to slowly advance to the next firepower point.

Although he could completely turn the situation around every move and let tribal warriors who had not had professional training gain the upper hand, he also ordered the golden "Iron Bird" to spit out flames to destroy the battlefield where the Kukulkan Order fought desperately with tribal warriors, just as his purpose was not to war but to kill certain specific characters and destroy certain items, and he did not care about tribal warrior casualties at all. Anuratu was not entirely complaining, after all, all tribal warriors had already made a vow of sacrifice, and whenever she encountered danger, Supiluliumas would suddenly appear to protect her, but this did not prevent her from regretting such tragic and meaningless casualties.

"This is war, Anuratu." Supiluliumas looked down at Queen Paiditi squatting behind the prefabricated fortifications, who was still very unaccustomed to communication headphones stuffed into his ears. "This war is the only way to save the outside world and Paiditi, and the sacrifices of those warriors will be remembered. Even if they do not know what they are fighting for, they still fulfilled the vision of our Lord fighting for mankind, and this is the only point they deserve everyone's respect."

"Who are you fighting for? Supiluliumas!" Anuratu asked viciously, "Aren't you a war machine? Why are you still here!"

"Because of my Lord and his wishes, something should not exist. My task is to wipe it out completely." Supiluliumas changed into a full magazine, pressed the spear handle button to pull the bolt load. After all this, he held the spear handle again, activated the power of the garrison spear, and wrapped the blade with a blue current. "Everyth I did was to allow Paiditti to continue to exist. Now that support is coming, you can order tribal warriors to attack on the spot under the cover of armored vehicles. What's inside is not suitable for you. Don't keep up until I completely burn that land. Don't be curious, stay here, don't communicate with any believers of the Kukulkan Cult. Do you understand?"

After Supiluliumas left for half an hour, the sound of chopping and slashing all the way to the cave gradually disappeared. Camilla and the team remained alert in this direction. The charred armored vehicles blocked the escape route of all the Holy Trinity mercenaries and the believers of the Kukurkan Cult. Anyone who tried to escape from this narrow mountain stream would be destroyed by the metal jets and lasers that flocked to it.

Anuratu found that the sky suddenly became dark, as if dark clouds were sinking to the ground. Then she heard a loud roar, and a group of giant "iron birds" covering the sky dived and fell on the other side of the mountain range. Then they soared into the sky and wandered in the distance, spitting flames and metals into the earth. The continuous loud noises were transmitted along the mountains raised from the earth to the feet of the Paidit tribe warriors. This scene made the tribe warriors who had finally accepted the power of "outsiders" almost panic. They raised their frightened faces in the thin sunlight, like some kind of panic animal.

Fortunately, Anuratu stabilized the tribal warriors' emotions. She claimed that they were the soldiers who brought the Imperial Guards to help Paiditi. They only needed to complete the battle here to win. Camilla put the muzzle of the laser gun on the shooting hole and threw a look of sympathy and apologies at Anuratu not far away. From a bloody perspective, Camilla and Anuratu belonged to the same branch. The former was very clear about the superstition of the locals, and even refused to provide food aid to the United Nations because they were worried that outsiders would covet civilian fat (referring to Pishtako).

As one of the few civilized people in Paiditti, even if Anuratu relies on the rule of law obtained by political marriage, it is very difficult to unite this group of superstitious indigenous people. No matter from which perspective, Anuratu is a competent and wise leader, but because of the environment, he has to make some appeasement choices to ensure that his people can survive.

Now that the consensus on survival no longer exists, Anuratu has to choose the Imperial Guards.

Regardless of the result, the heavy losses of tribal warriors made Paiditti no longer have absolute control of this land in the future. Those who occupy this place will transform from the Holy Trinity, the Church of San Juan into Latovia, and those who practice the creed will bring the Paiditti out of their comfort zone, just like picking out snail meat from the shell, exposing the indigenous people who have never been exposed to science and forgetting all the wisdom of our ancestors to the modern social environment, allowing them to be hurt by the severe reality until they learn how to enter modern civilization. Perhaps there will be no more wars, drugs and sins here, but there will be no folklore, myths and superstitions. Camilla doesn't know if this is a price to get better, but she can be sure that Paiditti's future will not be worse than in the past.

"Come some drink?" she said to Anuratu. The latter looked at the "outsider" who rarely communicated. Camilla discovered Anuratu's expression, so she showed a big smile. "Although the combat regulations prohibit us from drinking at this time, I believe the Guards would not mind that we should come with some rum now, anyway, he wouldn't care about us."

Anuratu hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
