Chapter 1 fleeting years

It is around 4 pm and the location is a remote small county town.

At the gate of Yunzhe Primary School, several private cars and many motorcycles were temporarily parked on both sides of the road. A group of parents blocked the section at the school gate. As the school bell rang, children came out of the school gate one after another. Some were looking for their parents in the crowd, while others were running and jumping on the road with their schoolbags on their backs. Several children were kicking stones and chasing and fighting together.

Several private cars 6 continued to drive towards the school gate from the street, honking their whistle while driving, splitting the noisy crowd, and forcibly squeezing a road among the crowd. Children and parents walking in the middle of the road hurriedly hid on the side of the road. The adults protected their children and muttered that they were not good at quality, and finally disappeared at the corner at the end of the zebra crossing with the shouts of the grocery store.

Fang Ning sat on the edge of the rooftop of the nursing home, stretched out his legs and hung them outside. His two white and tender calves swayed in the air, overlooking a corner of the primary school.

He had been in this position for about too long, and he felt his neck a little sore. When he looked up, he saw that under the heavy sky, the golden clouds were particularly red and charming by the sunlight.

The flag-raising platform of Yunzhe Primary School is stacked layer by layer. The fluttering red flag is new, but the sunlight seems to be old, and it shines down through the same window, as warm as many years ago.

And in the corridor of the third floor classroom, a girl with a fat face was grinning, revealing her white teeth and smiling at him.

He patted his forehead with some headache, then stood up and patted the dust on his butt, stretched his waist long and then prepared to turn back downstairs.

The little girl came over after carrying her pink schoolbag and looked around from the zebra crossing.

This is the intersection after school, and there are a lot of vehicles.

Soon, he jumped to Fang Ning.

This is a very fair little girl. Maybe because her family is well-off and has no shortage of nutrition. She has a baby face and a white and tender little hand behind her back. She is walking, looking at Fang Ning curiously, and her eyelashes swept around her, giving her a little cramped and uneasy.

Ming Nannan.

A fourth-grade student in Yunzhe Primary School is neither fat nor thin. She is taller than Fang Ning. She lives in the north of Yunzhezhuang gas station and opposite the health center. Because she has been weak since childhood, she always goes to the health center for infusion and injections every few days. Sometimes her family doesn’t have time to accompany her, so Fang Ning will carry a small stool to guard her. She has become familiar with her for a long time. And many times, she is not willing to play with the girl, and prefers to stay with him.

Regarding Fang Ning, Ming Nannan always felt that he was different from other boys. Those boys were naughty and would only snatch her snacks, or push her away without taking her to play. And what about him? Ming Nannan couldn't describe him with the words he learned, only knowing that he was as warm as his brother.

"There are many vehicles coming and going to and from school every day, and it is very dangerous for you to pass here." Fang Ning said with a frown.

Ming Nannan blinked her eyes narrowly, facing Fang Ning with a stern face, she didn't care much, or she didn't understand these principles. She was just a little girl who had just celebrated her eleventh birthday.

Children don’t have so many distinctions between good and evil, right and wrong, they only know who treats her well or badly, so their vision of the world is very different from that of the adult world.

She smiled cutely and showed her cute tiger teeth.

Ming Nannan knew that every time she smiled like this, Fang Ning would no longer continue to have a stern face like an adult.

"Still laugh!" Fang Ning shook his head helplessly. The little loli had already figured out his character, so he gave up and reached out to pinch her fat cheeks, which were very tender, but his movements were still very light. He just clicked until he pulled back his hand and said, "What did you bring today..."

"chocolate."

Ming Nannan took out the chocolate from his schoolbag, a total of two pieces, and handed them one to Fang Ning.

"My mom said I'm a little fat."

"I'm not fat, you're at your age and you're growing up. Eat more." Fang Ning tilted his head, thought for a while and added, "It's very kawaii!"

"Um?"

"Just think it's cute!" Fang Ning lowered his head and waved his hand.

"oh."

"Let's go!" He took her white and tender little hand and trotted on the road, his pink schoolbag tumbled and rolled.

Finally, I stopped under the continuous shade. The long stone bench was a little dusty and thick leaves fell on the ground.

Fang Ning pulled the waste paper from the homework book and wiped it clean. Regardless of the strange eyes of others, he ate the chocolate with satisfaction at the fork in the road where people came and went.

Fang Ning was very attentive during this eating process and didn't even let go of the chocolate shavings on the plastic bag.

He lowered his head and rustled, and his fluffy and soft head looked very beautiful with the sun.

Fang Ning ate it very quickly and finished it all in one go, while Ming Nannan was still half left, and there were traces of chocolate greasy on his lips.

"I give you half of my chocolate?"

"You eat it yourself."

"I really don't want it?"

"Oh well."

Just when Fang Ning was polite and wanted to take it for food, Ming Nannan had already continued to chew the chocolate.

Fang Ning looked at the sky.

This time period happened to be the peak of the road section. At the fork between the northwest side of the gas station and the road towards the county town, parents hurried home with their children at the entrance of Yunzhe Primary School, Yunzhe Middle School also finished school. Many junior high school students came out of the school gate. Most people rarely walked on zebra crossings and traffic lights, but instead walked through the traffic.

Most of the vehicles passing by here ignore the existence of the school section. When they pass by, the cars are not reduced at all. Several cars almost collided with junior high school students. Some vehicles that were picking up the line simply stopped on the zebra crossing next to the Yunzhe Primary School road, allowing the children to get on the bus directly on the side of the road before leaving slowly.

Several businessmen outside Xinyue Department Store were carrying stools and peeling melon seeds to watch the fun, and Fang Ning and the others came over.

"These vehicles are parked randomly on the school road, so no one cares about them?" Fang Ning couldn't help but say.

"Do you care, why no one cares? But it's useless..." The uncle subconsciously said, and was stunned.

He turned around and saw two children. The little boy looked at him without blinking. There were black chocolate marks on his lips. The other one was a white little girl who carried a pink schoolbag and leaned against the boy tightly, timidly.

And the one who asked him the question just now... was a little boy!

But, the person who can ask such a question is really just a primary school student?

"Hello, uncle!" Fang Ning let the uncle touch his fluffy head and pull his ears, looking harmless and well-behaved.

But he was sighing in his heart. It was not the first time he was pretending to be a child, but it was so childish.

Ming Nannan also called her, and she would call her whatever Fang Ning called her.

When the uncle saw that they were two well-behaved little kids, he didn't be wary. He smiled kindly, half talking to himself, usually nagging Fang Ning, and of course he didn't expect him to understand, "You see, most of these cars have people. When the traffic police came to copy the cards, they drove away. When the traffic police left, they stopped back, like a cat catching a mouse."

"That's how it is." Fang Ning frowned habitually.

Ming Nannan tilted her head and found that he had a habit of frowning, just like the adults at home and the teachers at school. This feeling made her uncomfortable, so she took a few steps back.

Fang Ning pondered that in fact, he had written letters to his principal several times, hoping to add temporary traffic lights to this intersection to maintain traffic order during peak school hours. But he has mentioned it several times without a reply, and the rocks have fallen into the sea. It is estimated that the principal regards himself as a child and has never written a letter, or he is disappointed with the principal who is in vain.

What he was worried about was not those junior high school students, after all, their thinking was almost mature and they had their own behavioral awareness. As for those who were preschool and second and third grades, it would be better to have parents pick up and drop off. The most fear was that children like himself and Ming Nannan who would go home from school by themselves in the fourth and fifth grades were easily scratched by vehicles, which was very dangerous.

"It's very dangerous, but the road is narrow, what's the solution?" The uncle in the store shook his head, "I hope the town government will find a way to solve it."

Fang Ning chatted with the uncle briefly for a few words, but then he didn't continue the in-depth conversation. He was worried that he would be regarded as a monster.

Fang Ning, who didn't want to cause anything, quickly ended the conversation, bought something, turned around obediently, waved his hand and said, "Goodbye Uncle."

"Goodbye Uncle!" Ming Nannan nodded obediently.

Then the two children walked away along the zebra crossing towards the fork in the direction of the gas station.
