Chapter 12 Fishing

"Riddle, do you think the British submarines will really appear?" On the 032-seater Ostrich I bomber, co-pilot Lauter, chatted loudly with the driver Riddle.

"It will definitely be! It is said that British submarines are only 6 knots underwater. They take almost a whole day to return to London. They have to float up to charge for one hour. I believe we will not be able to see them long before we can see them!" Riddle turned his head and responded, and there were several planes patrolling the sea at low altitude in their field of vision.

"Can we sink them when they float?" Lauter said as he carefully observed the sea, fearing that those British submarines who missed the dark and smooth ones.

"It's hard to say, I haven't shot it!" Riddle shook his head. He was not sure to use the six 50KG bombs in the bomb bay to sink the submarines, or use the twin-mounted machine gun at Dehel's position to compete with the cannons on the submarines. The order they received before taking off was to discover British submarines and try to prevent them from diving until the destroyer arrived. Thinking of this, Riddle turned his head and looked at the sea behind. The three German destroyers that were advancing at full speed had been pulled back far behind.

It has been an hour since the Battle of Lostov ended. Riddle's No. 032 was the third wave of aircraft that took off from the aircraft carrier. The two waves of aircraft had the chance to chase the British destroyers that fled in panic. Now the remaining British destroyers, like frightened birds, have already escaped from this area at high speed.

"Let's fly for another 10 minutes, let's go back!" As soon as Riddle finished speaking, he found an abnormality on the water surface in front of the left: countless bubbles appeared on the sea surface, and the water splashed upwards from the bottom of the water. A long and thin jar was first deep in the water surface, followed by a flat barrel-shaped object with an iron railing on it, and the last long black object floated up from the water.

Riddle suddenly became excited.

"Lough, look there, the British submarine! Send the signal!"

Before Lauter could observe, he quickly took out the signal gun. A red signal flare rose up. The nearby planes and destroyers soon discovered the signal flare and surrounded them at the fastest speed.

"Prepare to drop bombs!" Riddle drove No. 032 and flew over the British submarine, quickly turned around and rushed towards the British again.

Lauter grabbed the bomb drop lever tightly and silently calculated the distance in his heart. Just before flying over the submarine, the fuselage of No. 032 lightened and six black bombs fell.

Lauter looked at the back with eyes, but the scene of expecting that the golden flowers would splash everywhere did not appear. The bombs all fell around the submarine, raising 6 high water columns. The submarine pounded up and down, but after only a while, it calmed down with the water surface again. Lauter patted the cockpit and shouted depressedly:

"It's so damn! It didn't explode!"

Riddle turned his head and glanced, and No. 032 turned to the British submarine again.

"Rout, fire it with your machine gun this time!"

When No. 032 flew back again, British sailors were nervously running up the bridge to control the cannons on the boat and the machine gun behind the bridge.

Da da...

Lauter's whole body shook. He gritted his teeth and watched the white bullets splashing two small columns of water on the sea, extending to the front deck of the British submarine. While the sparks were splashing, several British sailors also fell down with their chests covering their chests.

"Oh! That's great! Riddle, have you seen that I hit the British!" After stopping the shooting, Lauter cheered with his fists.

"Okay! Just deal with them like this!" Riddle was speaking, and two other torpedo planes roared, and the two pilots on it waved at them with a smile.

Half a minute later, two torpedo fell into the water in an extremely graceful posture, splashing high water splashes, heading straight for the British submarine with white water marks and countless bubbles. However, the small British submarine turned around and let them pass, making the torpedo pilot stamp their feet in anger.

In this way, the British submarine slowly sailed forward, three planes flew through the sky, shooting strings of bullets at the submarine, and white bullets continued to rise from the submarine, both sides tried hard to attack the other side, but it seemed that there was little effect.

Finally, the arrival of three other bombers broke this delicate balance. Two bombs landed very close to the submarine. When the bomb exploded, you could even see fragments of the submarine bulkhead flying everywhere and the submarine began to sink into the water. The British sailors who escaped from the submarine meant that the submarine was sinking, not submersible!

A few minutes later, the belated German destroyer finally appeared, and the submarine was no longer visible, leaving only a group of British sailors floating alone on the sea.

Riddle and Lauter later learned that the bomb they dropped for the first time had blown up the bulkhead of the British submarine, making it impossible for the other party to dive normally. Then they had to stay on the water and fight with many planes. However, the credit for sinking the British submarine was still on the heads of the bombers behind, which made Riddle and Lauter very depressed.

At noon, the depressed crowd increased a little. Every time he saw a large number of British submarine crews imprisoned in the cabin, Major Remo, the captain of the Bonn destroyer, suddenly had the urge to flatter people. Throughout the morning, a total of 12 British submarines were discovered. The German naval aviation forces launched an attack on 11 of them, successfully sunk 3 and injured 4. The destroyer troops had no record except for capturing the injured British submarines. The Bonn rushed to the full speed when he saw the signal twice in a row, and they wiped the butt for the air force both times.

Major Remo was thinking about whether to go to the toilet or beat the British, his lookout shouted:

"Captain! Signal flare!"

Four nautical miles ahead of the right of the Bonn, a red signal flare rose slowly.

"Go ahead at full speed! Go and kick the British people in the ass!" Remer's roar scared the people around him.

The warship quickly accelerated to 27 knots, and the waves were aroused by the sharp bow, and then they were hit and splashed with water. However, Remo still felt that the speed was not enough. In his eyes, the naval aviation troops had become wild wolf-like guys. Maybe this time they could not even eat bones. The original plan of the main attacker has now become a cleaner who cleaned up the battlefield, which was unexpected by the fleet commander.

Under the expectation of the sailors, the Bonn arrived at the scene of the accident immediately, but did not see the British submarine. The sea was so calm that there were no floating wooden blocks or oil stains. Only a few torpedo planes were still hovering in the air.

"The British ran away?" Remer felt sorry for the planes, and lamented that his chance had come. The British submarine floated to the surface to recharge. He was probably scared by the torpedo plane and dived into the water. It would not take long for it to float out.

The Bonn began to circle around nearby, and soon, the torpedo planes returned due to insufficient fuel.

Time passed by minute by minute, and Remo had to admire the British's patience. It seemed that the arrogant movement of his warship scared the British, so that they could just stay in the water and consume the remaining air.

The speed of the "Bonn" gradually slowed down and finally stopped on the sea.

"Everyone carefully observe the sea surface! The machine gun on the ship is ready to shoot. Once a torpedo is found, be sure to intercept it! The machine is ready to start at any time!" Lei Mo understood the risk of doing so, and sweat beads slid across his face one by one.

The sailors stared at the calm water with wide eyes, fearing that a torpedo would suddenly appear to take their lives.

"Periscope! 200 yards on the starboard side of the periscope!" A sailor suddenly screamed, and everyone's hearts were hanging - so close!

"The engine starts!" Lei Moxin almost jumped out, but he quickly remembered that this distance didn't have to worry about the torpedo at all.

"Don't worry, everyone! The torpedo cannot attack us at this distance! The cannon is ready to shoot!"

The shells of the secondary gun quickly fell like raindrops near the periscope, and soon the British dived deeper into the bottom of the water.

Remo, who missed the opportunity, seemed frustrated, and he immediately ordered: "Sailing at cruise speed! The British have discovered us, so we can only continue to waste time with them!"

The Bonn started to circle around the neighborhood again, and soon the sailors shouted again:

"torpedo!"

Soon, the alarm ringtone of a rapid turn sounded across the sea. A beautiful turn of the Bonn sideways allowed the torpedo, but sweat almost soaked the backs of every officer and soldier.

Finally, the British could not hold it in, and the dark hull appeared behind the Bonn in a mess.

"The British submarine is floating up! 1500 yards behind!"

The rear main gun on the Bonn began to fire, but the British submarine ignored it and fled in the opposite direction at full speed.

"Steer! Go forward at full speed!" Remer stood in the command room and stared at the British submarine with a telescope. He could clearly see the sailors running nervously on the British submarine. The machine gun at the rear of the ship was lifted. I guess their only front main gun was also preparing.

After turning, the Bonn chased after him at full speed. At a distance of 1,000 yards, the British submarine secretly shot a torpedo from the tail of the boat, which made all the German sailors panic again.

"Turn left!" Lei Mo gave the order coldly.

After a few dozen seconds, the torpedo rushed past the starboard side of the Bonn, and the people's hearts were relieved.

The Bonn gradually caught up with the British submarine, and the shells fell closer to its hull. However, just when people thought that the next shot could blow it up, the two main guns in front stopped.

"Have you reached the lowest shooting range?" Remo sighed and immediately issued an order to hit the British submarine at full speed.
