Chapter 27 Highway Murder

As most of the Russian troops were in chaos, Samsonov barely sent two infantry divisions to block the German army, while he and more than 100,000 Russian soldiers retreated to the border in an all-round way.

On the road they came, there were no people in dozens of sentries. German soldiers disguised as sentries were hiding on the hillsides and in the woods on both sides of the road, constantly firing at the Russian soldiers.

Fighters, attack aircraft and bombers flew continuously over the highway, strafing, dropping bombs, climbing, hovering, strafing and dropping bombs again, causing a large amount of damage to the crowded Russians.

"I knew there was something wrong with those sentries!" Corporal Capetanovich lay in the canal beside the road, lying in a canal, with no place to vent. When he borrowed fire from the sentries in the morning, he felt something was wrong, and then he reported to their company commander, but the guy not only did not become alert, but also scolded him and said that he was nothing to cause trouble. However, his company commander was blown into pieces by a bomb during the first air strike, which was also considered retribution.

At this time, the Russian army was in chaos. The soldiers could no longer find their officers, nor could the officers find their own soldiers. No one organized troops to attack the German firepower points on the roadside.

"You guys come up with me and kill the Germans in the woods over there! You can't let them slaughter our brothers like this anymore!" Capetanovic gathered more than a dozen soldiers in the company.

"Capetanovich, let's not be stubborn. The officers are running away, and they are dead. Let's run away quickly!" Some soldiers seemed to disagree, and some were empty-handed and didn't even know where the weapons were thrown.

"Okay! If you want to escape, run away quickly. The warriors who are willing to stay will join me to unplug the German firepower point!"

In the end, only seven other people stayed. Capetanovic asked them to get more weapons and ammunition from the dead Russian soldiers on the road, and began to climb up the hillside on the other side, with German bullets flying over their heads.

"Let's go down!" Capetanovich just shouted out, and two soldiers were shot and rolled down.

"Damn it! Those timid artillery soldiers actually left the cannons to the Germans!"

If there were infantry artillery at this time, these Russian soldiers would not have to risk climbing to the hillside, but even if their artillery dragged heavy cannons and retreated together, they would be blocked by the chaotic flow of people if they were not caught up by the Germans.

Capetanovich and the remaining five soldiers slowly climbed up like poor snails. After more than ten minutes, they finally arrived at the other side of the top of the mountain. They lay in the grass and looked at the German firepower point dozens of meters away from them. There was only a Maxim, three light machine guns and a dozen German soldiers, but they killed at least hundreds of Russian soldiers in just one hour, and the bullet shells all over the ground were the best proof.

With the protection of shrubs and grass, they quietly touched over there.

"Everyone listen to my command and rush over together!" Capetanovic tightly held the bayonet. Their rifle was impossible to fire with the opponent's machine gun, and the damn officer did not send the grenade to their hands.

"Roar!" Six Russian soldiers rushed over from more than ten meters away from the German firepower point. Their behavior was not so much an attack as a moth to a flame.

Slap sex...

Two German officers used Ruger 08 in their hands to open fire on the brave Russians. Capetanovich and others quickly fell into a pool of blood. They stared at the blue sky slowly turning red...

Only more than 40 of the German troops' hundreds of firepower points on both sides of the road were attacked by the Russian army, of which 24 were captured by the Russian army, but the Russian army paid ten times more casualties than the German army in order to capture those firepower points.

In the middle of the road, a Cossack cavalry general tried his best to maintain a calm expression surrounded by many guards. They rode high-headed horses and slowly advanced in the crowded crowd, like an isolated island in the river, in sharp contrast with the crowd and chaos around them. Suddenly, the general's whole body was shocked and fell off his horse. His guards dismounted one after another, and saw a bullet hole suddenly appearing on their general's head.

In the bushes on the hillside not far away, Lieutenant Michael Rudra skillfully pulled the gun tether and sent the next bullet into the barrel. This ace sniper who had shown his skills on the Turkish battlefield this time, with more than 300 snipers from the East Prussian Army snipers, ambushing on both sides of the road, specializing in hunting Russian officers. The cavalry general just now was his 29th prey today. The hidden cloth cover with grass green on his body almost integrated into the surrounding environment, so he didn't have to move at all, and no Russian soldiers planned to rush up to search for killers like him.

As the number of officers were sniped, the Russian retreat became more and more like an escape. At dusk, the few remaining Russian guards had retreated to the 40-kilometer highway, and they hurriedly fled to the east through the bodies of countless companions.

In the villages next to the highway, more than a dozen tanks, armored vehicles or motorcycles drove out of haystacks and warehouses. They used machine guns and cannons to kill Russian soldiers crowded on the highway. The power of bullets and shells had already been exerted to the extreme at this time. After the bullets of a Maxim heavy machine gun were released, they could almost penetrate the bodies of 2-3 Russians. The shells falling into the crowd seemed to be unable to see the explosion of the flames. They would only explode with a muffled sound, and countless remaining limbs flew down in all directions.

The Russians' spirit has almost collapsed, and there is only one thought in everyone's mind - to run forward desperately, and you can survive by running across the border. More and more Russians are lying on the 40-kilometer highway, and the canals beside the road are filled with Russian blood.

When night fell, the fierce gunfire did not mean to stop. Samsonov, who was in a trance, was marching all the way by the guards. There were fewer and fewer Russian soldiers beside them, and the road was getting harder to go. But thankfully, they were finally about to reach the end of the road, and the border line was ahead of them.

When the figures of the Russian retreating soldiers appeared under the flames that kept passing through the night in the distance, Lieutenant Denichlas threw away the cigarette butt from his hand and got into the tank. The long waiting night had made his toes itch. The gunner stuffed the shells into the barrel, and he pressed his eyes tightly against the scope of the 37mm cannon.

"Damn it! You can't see anything!" Deniklas re-draws out of the tank, "Hey, Corporal, fire a flare 1 kilometer ahead!"

As the sound of match-burning sounded, the whole road became bright, but what shone the Russian officers and soldiers was not the light of the Holy Lord, but the eye of the devil.

Bang! The whole tank shook for a moment, and a shell in the darkness drew a beautiful arc and rushed into the middle of the Russians who were staggering towards this side.

Samsonov was thrown out heavily, and his pupils dilated...

Then other tanks and rapid-fire guns opened fire at the Russian crowd, and thick smoke rose from the road.

"Tank troops, advance!" Deniklas shouted loudly, and 15 tanks rumbled and a stream of clear smoke ejected from the tail.

The Russian soldiers running in the front saw a group of iron lumps slowly coming towards them, and strings of projectiles were constantly spewing out from above, dragging white tails through the air. It seemed that every bullet was coming towards them. They didn't know whether to retreat or continue to run in that direction at this time, but the crowds behind them had no choice and had to approach the monsters step by step.

The tanks met the retreating crowd...

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Denikras in the tank could already hear the terrifying sound of the tank rolling bones and swelling the heads, and the heart-wrenching wailing sounds made by the wounded Russian soldiers.

"Oh my God! We are simply in hell now!" Deniklas couldn't help but shout, but the noisy environment inside the tank drowned his voice. He and his loader manipulated a machine gun and fired frantically at the crowd around him, and the Russian soldiers fell straight down.

The Russian soldiers tried every means to use machine guns, rifles, bayonets, fists, leather shoes and even teeth. They had no choice but to use grenades in such a dense crowd. While destroying the tracks of two tanks, they also injured many of their own people, but the Russians no longer care about thinking so much.

The broken tanks stopped in the middle of the road and continued to shoot at the crowd. Soon after, other tanks also stopped. After the machine gun bullets on the tanks were exhausted, the bloody road was finally opened by the Russians, and they rushed towards the border regardless of everything...

The bloody night has finally passed.

The dawn brought new hope, but some people could not wait for the sun to rise. 123,000 Russian soldiers fell on the road to hope, 46,000 were captured, only thousands of remaining soldiers were able to cross the border and return to their motherland, and more than 40,000 remained forever in front of the woods in Compiña.

From the moment the main force of the Russian 1st Army entered Germany with great enthusiasm, to the last Russian infantry fled back to Russia in panic in the early morning of August 21, in just five days, the numbers of the 1st and 2nd Army were forever touched from the battle sequence of the Tsarist Russian army.

The bad news came back to Russia, and the cup in the Tsar's hand fell to the ground and smashed it.

Half of the world laughs for it, and half of the world crys for it!

The German army spent 34 divisions and 700,000 people in Belgium spent five days to defeat 120,000 people in seven divisions and 120,000 people in Belgium and occupied Brussels on August 8. However, the Belgian people did not give up resistance. The members of the Allied countries believed that Belgium had rebelled without fear of violence and made outstanding contributions to the cause of the Allied countries.

Prince Jiji William spent 14 divisions and 250,000 people in East Prussia, also spent five days to wipe out 440,000 Russian army groups, and achieved a brilliant victory of killing 270,000 enemies and capturing 150,000. The Allies were silent.

German Emperor William II was ecstatic and praised Chen Tian as "Hannibal of Germany"!
