Chapter 165 Maddie's counterattack

The Hawks' reliance on off-ball offense in positional battles is beyond the reach of the league, and sometimes even the Spurs have to be at a disadvantage.

This team emphasizes the ball against the inside after the high pick-and-roll. Only two teams in the league have higher proportions and scoring rates than the Hawks, namely the Mavericks with Nowitzki and the Suns with Sir.

Except for Horford and Josh Smith, who are both capable of high and low posts, the Hawks have a strike range of 15 feet.

Today, the Knicks had no good idea against the Hawks, both mobility, strong inside attack and face-frame impact. Horford scored 19 points and 7 rebounds in the first half, and Josh Smith scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. The two teamed up to score 34 points, causing an almost devastating blow to the Knicks' inside.

Of course, the Knicks' outside line also beat the Hawks' bloody side. Iguodala let the Hawks' outside core Joe Johnson hand over 5 of 15 shots in the half game, and Wu Huang also made Crawford's only 1 of 6 shots with a bloody performance. If Bibby's 2 points and 2 assists, the Hawks' outside line today is no worse than the Knicks' inside line. At least Channing Fry's performance on the offensive end is not bad, which means David Lee was a bit abused.

"I will continue to strengthen the offense in the second half. Please help me cover and defend the players." Wu Huang did not directly point out during the break, but he said that he was going to score points. He said that he was like this. If he couldn't understand it, he should test his IQ.

After the intermission, Wu Huang and Bibi re-confronted each other.

"You gave me 29 points today." Emperor Wu made a simple provocation as usual.

Bibi pretended not to hear it. The first half of the game was simply torment for him, and he had no way to make a breakthrough against Emperor Wu.

The Hawks are now unavailable, and Jeff Teague is not as good as Bibby after going up. Crawford's defense against Wu Huang is also ineffective. Using him will affect his team's offense.

Not just this game, if the Hawks cannot solve the problem of the point guard stage this year, they may not go far into the playoffs.

Wu Huang was happy to see Bibi. Shortly after the third quarter, he received David Lee's assist from 24 feet outside the left corner. He made a long three-pointer hollow into the net and got his 32nd point. Soon after, Joe Johnson missed the throw again, and Wu Huang picked up another rebound at the basket, turned around and made a chase counterattack. The right wing jump shot was hit again with 18 feet outside the right wing, which was the 34th point.

Larry Drew rushed to the sidelines and called a timeout. Now they are not a problem on the offensive end, but on the defensive end, they must stop Wu Huang from continuing to score, otherwise no matter how big the inside is, they will not be able to win the Knicks.

Their chain defense had failed in the first half. The Hawks did not hold on to the other side in the second half. This time they decisively used double-teams, or even three-teams to deal with Wu Huang.

After the game started again, Wu Huang found that as long as he dribbled into the three-point line, he would immediately encounter double-teams from Johansson or Josh Smith. Sometimes, two people even cooperated with Bibi to double-team him together.

Iguodala was empty by the Eagles. Seeing this, Wu Huang naturally chose to pass the ball. The first brother missed two consecutive three-pointers, and the Eagles caught up with the score again.

"Breakthrough!" Wu Huang signaled Iguodala to play at the basket, and the latter thought so. Most of the time his three-pointer was not much better than Josh Smith on the opposite side.

The Hawks focused their defense on Emperor Wu. Although he could limit his scoring, the Knicks' increase in score did not reduce as a result. Iguodala used the breakthrough to commit two fouls in a row. Before he knew it, Josh Smith and Horford also made three fouls.

Just when D'Antoni wanted the players to increase their breakthroughs and cause damage, the Hawks completed this task first. David Lee took his fourth foul against Joe Johnson's breakthrough and could only sit off the court again. The Knicks now had no center.

"We don't want a center. Anyway, it's useless." D'Antoni was much calmer this time and directly replaced McGrady. The lineup on the court became: Wu Huang, Iguodala, McGrady, Garlinari, Fry.

Emperor Wu didn't have much time with McGrady in the first half, so there was usually nothing with McGrady with him. The latter could only become a scout who could not run and catch the ball, but would not shoot at the first time. Instead, he had to do two moves to the outside shooter.

To be honest, Wu Huang hated McGrady's behavior because this guy must transport it a few more times when he receives his pass. Even if he makes a shot, it has nothing to do with him. He has no assist at all.

"It's simply a traitor!" Emperor Wu could not tolerate such behavior.

As soon as McGrath came on the court this time, the Knicks' rhythm began to become wrong. One less person in fast attack, one less person in defense, and one more person in position warfare.

Marvin Williams only scored 5 points today, but he started to explode after McGrady came on the court, scoring three consecutive mid- and long-distance jump shots. After a 7-to-o shock wave, the Hawks quickly caught up 64:68, and the two sides began to fall into a stalemate.

Emperor Wu was very unhappy. Larry Hughes, who had just been traded, didn't like to move without balls, but now he knows what it means to watch a show. Hughes can be considered positive if he compares McGrady.

The most annoying thing is that McGrath actually reached out to him to ask for the ball from time to time, and he started to direct his position as soon as he got the ball. Emperor Wu felt that this was even more unbearable!

"Is there something wrong with this guy's head? Did he figure out the reality?" Wu Huang was very dissatisfied with McGrady. He played nearly half of the third quarter. He didn't score another point after McGrady came on the court. Because he didn't pass the ball to McGrady, the Hawks player completely let McGrady off to double-team him. In this case, he naturally struggled to score.

D'Antoni sighed, and Emperor Wu was making a little angry, which was openly expressing his dissatisfaction to the team. Just now, McGrady obviously had a free spot and he would rather pass the basketball to Gallinari, who had no chance.

Garlinari said that he was innocent and was only able to increase his iron-shot record after receiving such a tricked pass, but he had to stop shooting, and he could not pass it to McGrady. This is when he was on the team. Once he stood in the wrong team, the problem could be big or small, and he would definitely not be careless.

McGrady was replaced by D'Antoni in less than four minutes after he was on the court. If he didn't change him, the Knicks should explain this game.

The live broadcast camera immediately corrected McGrady. The fans in front of the TV could see that his face was obviously blue. After the game, he turned a blind eye to D'Antoni's hand stretched out, and he left the bench and covered his face with a towel, so that people could not see his expression.

Wu Huang didn't know that he was being scolded by 600 million McGrady fans in China. If he didn't pass the ball to McGrady, everyone could see that for a while, he would "selfish", "narrow", "lone wolf", "excluding new teammates" and other complaints were pressed on him.

But no matter how much he scolded, the fact is that when McGrady was about to play, Emperor Wu immediately exploded!

With 4 minutes and 55 seconds left in the third quarter, Wu Huang still had 1 meter away from the three-point line on the left wing. He unreasonably pulled the jumper and went into the net, not giving his opponent a chance to double-team him. At the end of the third quarter, the Hawks had no choice but to use Wu Huang's long shot. In the last two minutes, Wu Huang's long shot was 5 points in a row. He led the Knicks to maintain an 8-point advantage and ended with 8o:72.

After the third quarter, Wu Huang scored 42 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. In the last quarter, he could break the youngest 5o+ record set by Jennings not long ago.

This task is not difficult to complete according to the principle. He felt so good today, and it would be a piece of cake to get another eight points.

But unexpectedly, in the fourth quarter, Wu Huang rested off the court, and the situation on the court suddenly changed. As soon as McGrath got up, he pulled out a three-pointer from the outside with anger. With his eyes blocked, the basketball smashed into the basket like a cannonball!

"Damn!" Wu Huang was startled by the ball, especially when he saw McGrady wave his arm at the Knicks' bench, Wu Huang always felt that this was coming for him?

"This is a demonstration, it's outrageous!" Wu Huang was complaining in his heart that McGrady's performance had just begun. After 20 seconds, under the cover of David Lee, he took a sideways step and pulled out his hand again, and actually hit another three-pointer!

The Hawks' substitute forward Morris Evans is also a fortune-giving boy, and then sent McGrady to the free throw line, who made both free throws to lead the Knicks to a 8:0**.

David Lee then scored his second goal today, and the Knicks widened the gap to 18 points in one breath.

"Puff!" Emperor Wu almost spit out the energy drink in one mouthful. In such a blink of an eye, is it time for the competition to enter garbage time?

Larry Drew called for a long timeout. Not to mention that Wu Huang did not expect the current situation, the Hawks players and fans were also stunned when they witnessed all this. They didn't take McGrady seriously at all, but they didn't expect that it was this sleepy bug that gave them a fatal blow at the critical moment!

There are 10 minutes and 41 seconds left in the fourth quarter, which means less than 1 and a half minutes, the Knicks made a 10:0 attack wave. Such firepower is too cruel. The Eagles have no choice now, so they can only replace all the main players and try to make a last try!

D'Antoni was suspended this timeout but did not make any substitutions. He only played less than two minutes in the fourth quarter. Of course, he could not replace McGrady, who had just made great contributions. If he really did this, no matter whether he won or lost after the game, he would inevitably be criticized by the public.

Emperor Wu secretly cursed McGrady in his heart. He had a great chance to break the record in this game, but if McGrady continued to be so crazy, once the score difference reached more than 20 points, he would not have to play again. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity would be vain.

"Bang!" Emperor Wu was thinking, Johnson, the biggest blacksmith in the game, played another iron outside the three-point line, and the basketball went far away and fell directly into McGrady's hands.

"It's so useless!" Wu Huang cursed in his heart! McGrady got the basketball and transported it to the frontcourt. Suddenly, David Li, who was passing the ball and assisting it, made a layup, and the Knicks led by 20 points.

"It's over, how can you be a friend? Hurry up and trade!" Wu Huang waved the towel hard on the court, but his heart was bleeding. His 5o+ was ruined again, McGrady must get out! (To be continued.)
