Chapter 1024 Godard is really here

At 6 o'clock in the evening, one and a half hours before "The Sun" was officially released, and it was already lively in front of the movie palace. The 60-meter-long red carpet was full of reporters holding cameras, as well as movie fans holding posters and cheering cards. Outside the red carpet, thousands of movie fans who did not have invitation letters were holding signs to ask for votes, hoping to get a ticket before the opening.

As the red carpet ceremony began, luxury cars stopped at the intersection, and big stars stepped onto the red carpet one after another. Shocking and screaming swept across the entire movie palace, and the air at the scene was about to burn.

"Scarlet Sun" is a movie that is globally concerned, with many celebrities and guests coming to support the show. Nine judges led by Jane Campion, Chinese actors represented by Zhang Ziyi, Fan Binbin and Li Binbin, major directors represented by Mike Lee and Ceylon, movie stars represented by Schwarzenegger and Stallone, and even Canadian pop star Wicken and American supermodel Caroline Moffey also made a surprise appearance. The entire premiere was shining with stars.

"That's Monica Beluchi, my goddess! Monica, here! Here!"

"Wow, Gisele Bongchen is here too, but it's not surprising that she is the spokesperson of Valentino, and Zhang Ran is the boss of Valentino, so it's normal for her to support her!"

"Wow, Cate Blanchett is here too. Today is so lively, even more lively than the opening ceremony!"

The reporters kept taking photos, sighing endlessly. They pressed the shutter and made their fingers hurt, but they couldn't stop because everyone who appeared was a big brand.

A black car parked at the entrance of the red carpet. The door opened and a white-haired and glasses got out of the car. An old lady in her sixties got off the other side of the car. She quickly walked to the old man and wanted to support him. But the old man waved his hand and signaled that she could leave. The old woman smiled at the old man, held his arm, and walked forward with him.

The reporters at the scene were stunned after seeing the old man's appearance and could not believe their eyes. The fat reporter holding the camera and preparing to take a photo was completely stunned. The thin reporter murmured: "How is it possible? Godard actually came to participate in the premiere of "The Scarlet Sun"!"

Someone in the crowd exclaimed: "God, that's Godard! Godard is here!" Then, more people screamed: "God, it's Godard! Godard is here!"

In the midst of exclamation, the reporters pointed their camera at Godard and pressed the shutter wildly to record this incredible moment. They did not think about why Godard appeared, but they all knew that Godard was a god-like existence in the world of movies, and he was 84 years old. If he wanted to film him, he might have just one chance in his life.

While taking photos, the reporters shouted "Jean-Luc! Jean-Luc" desperately, wanting Godard to look at the camera. But the old man ignored anyone and walked into the movie palace with his wife Anne Mary Miville's arm.

The guests, audience and reporters in the venue saw this incredible scene through the big screen. The buzzing sound of the scene was heard, and many people couldn't believe their eyes, and they couldn't believe that Godard would appear at the premiere of "The Scarlet Sun"

"Zhang Ran is so popular that even Godard was present in person!"

"Godard likes Zhang Ran. He once said that Zhang Ran is one of the few people who really know how to make a movie, but I still didn't expect him to attend the premiere of "The Scarlet Sun"!"

"Zhang Ran seems to be magical. Bergman likes him, Coppola likes him, Scorsese likes him, and even Godard, an old and arrogant young man who likes him!"

The judges also whispered, and Nicholas Winding Revern shook his head gently and said, "I didn't expect Godard to like Zhang Ran so much, it's incredible!"

Sofia Coppola was also very surprised by this: "Godard has been against the bourgeoisie all his life and the bourgeois movies all his life; and Zhang Ran is a big capitalist, and his movies are all big productions. It's incredible that Godard actually likes his movies!"

Jacob next to him chuckled: "Bunuel once said that apart from Godard, I can't see anything new in the New Wave. In our era, the language of film has almost stagnated, and the only director who is still exploring the language of film is Zhang Ran. Godard is lonely, and Zhang Ran is also not. They are lonely people walking on the boundaries of movies, and they are the same kind. It is normal for Godard to watch "The Scarlet Sun"."

The big screen in the venue broadcast live the whole process of Godard walking through the 0-meter-long red carpet and entering the screening room from the main entrance. When he entered the venue, all the audience stood up spontaneously and gave him endless applause.

There are three particularly important films in the history of world cinema, Griffith's "The Birth of a Country", Orson Wells's "Citizen Kane", and Godard's "Exhausted". These three films are iconic works of the birth, development, and mature film language. No world cinema history can miss these three works.

Griffith pioneered classical editing in "The Birth of a Nation" and laid the foundation for the language of film; "Citizen Kane" is the cornerstone of modern films and influenced every director since then; and Godard created jump cuts in "Exhausted", completely burying classical films, and truly allowing the film to be modernized. Truffaut said that the movie was divided into before Godard and after Godard, which is really not an exaggeration at all.

The directors present come from all over the world, both old and young, but none of them have not been influenced by Godard. It is no exaggeration to say that all the directors present are Godard's students. When Godard entered the venue, everyone could not find any other way to express their respect to him except standing up and applaud.

Godard was 84 years old, and most of his comrades of his contemporaries had left, and Chabrol, Rohmer, Rivet and others had all left. At this age and level, Godard no longer cared about awards, nor did he care about what others said, nor did he have the interest of greeting or communicating. He held his wife Anne Mary Miville's arm, and under the guidance of the instructor, he came to his own position and sat down quietly for the movie to begin.

Zhang Ran and the crew of "Scarlet Sun" are the finale. When they appeared on the red carpet, cheers and applause like tsunamis erupted; and Zhang Ran, Li Xuejian and Wang Luodan also waved and interacted enthusiastically with fans on the scene, which seemed very friendly.

After entering the screening room, Zhang Ran glanced and saw that more than 3,000 seats in the Lumier Hall were all full. He glanced at the guest's seat and saw Godard. Zhang Ran was watching Godard and watching this living movie legend; Godard also looked at Zhang Ran again, looking at this creative young director.

Zhang Ran did not go over to say hello to Godard. Godard was watching "The Scarlet Sun". If you want to communicate, you have to wait for the movie to be screened. He smiled at Godard and then came to his own position.

After Zhang Ran and the others sat down, the host reminded the audience that the movie was about to start and asked everyone to wear 3D glasses. The guests and reporters at the scene put on 3D glasses and whispered.

"It's finally about to start. I've been waiting for this movie since the release of "The Apocalypse of the Future", for two years."

"This is a movie with 3D plus holographic sound plus k. It is a real 3D movie. Now it's finally about to start!"

"Some people say this is China's "The Old Man and the Sea", and some people say it is the elderly version of "The Young Pi". No matter which one, the movies made by Zhang Ran will definitely not be bad!"

The lights in the screening room went out, the scene suddenly became quiet, and everyone's attention was focused on the screen.

The big screen lights up and "Scarlet Body" officially begins screenings.

After the opening animation, the screen went dark, and then the audience saw an amazing scene. The entire screen slowly unfolded from right to left like a scroll of a Chinese painting.

In the painting, in the vast endless mountain peaks, the continuous peaks occupy most of the screen space, leaving only a line for the sky above, surrounding a few white clouds.

When the painting is spread to the far left of the screen, the lens begins to slowly move to the left. From the audience's perspective, it seems that the painting is still expanding, as if this vigorous and ancient Chinese painting has not yet been fully expanded.

"The reel lens can be used like this!" Someone let out a soft cry in front of the screen. The reel lens is Zhang Ran's iconic lens. Almost all reel lenses appear in Zhang Ran's movies, but no one expected that Zhang Ran could still play the reel lens into new tricks.

Jia Zhangke immediately smiled when he saw this shot and said softly: "This is the real scroll shot!"

Jia Zhangke's voice was very small, but Sofia Coppola next to him still heard it and said in confusion: "Why do you say that?"

Jia Zhangke whispered: "This is how Chinese paintings unfold from right to left. When looking at Chinese paintings, you should also look from right to left!"

There is one thing Jia Zhangke didn't say. Not only is the frame of this lens Chinese painting, but the entire composition is also Chinese, using the Pingyuan method of the "Three Far Methods" of Chinese painting composition. However, even Chinese people may not understand these things, let alone foreigner Coppola, who is too lazy to explain.

Jia Zhangke knew that Zhang Ran particularly admired Bada Shanren. In his opinion, this shot undoubtedly had a strong Bada Shanren style. The trees in the shot were crooked, full of dead branches and leaves, and the artistic conception was deserted and cold, but it exuded a vigorous and simple spirit in the distant realm.

The camera switches, and it is still a big panoramic view, but the camera cuts to a corner of the village, slowly moving from above the village, from right to left. Since the village was filmed, the entire communication reminds many Chinese journalists present of the scene, just like "Along the River During the Qingming Festival".

However, the movie scene gives people a completely different feeling from "Along the River During the Qingming Festival". There are people everywhere in "Along the River During the Qingming Festival", passers-by, people traveling on the bridge, upstairs, and on the boat, which seems very lively; and in Zhang Ran's shot, the village is empty and there is no sign of people at all. If it weren't for the barking of dogs outside the picture, it would have made people feel that this was an abandoned empty village.

The strong sunlight shines like pear blossoms throughout the village, bright and dizzy, giving people a feeling of irritability and roughness; the camera moves through one house after another, and through one yard after another, giving people a strong sense of closure, as if it is in a cage, and it is difficult to escape no matter how the camera moves.

The camera slowly moved to the left, and the dog barked one after another, and the scream was a bit sad and even a little heart-wrenching. It made people wonder where the people in the village went, and why the dog barked so sadly?

Most of the Chinese journalists on the scene have read the original book "Year, Month and Day" and are mentally prepared, but when the blind dog's sad chirping came, their hearts still sank.

The foreign journalists and directors present had never read the novel, but the tone presented by the two scenes of the movie still made them understand that this was a story full of loneliness and despair. They couldn't help but hold their breath and their hearts couldn't help but pull themselves up.

Godard, who had always had a stern face, smiled at this moment: "The Chinese director has finally made his own movie!"
