15. Burning

The rain in late autumn has a bone-invading chill. After a few days of continuous decline, the air was filled with moisture.

"Knock--"

After knocking twice, Xiao Jingran held the tea with one hand and opened the study door with the other.

Chen Wenxi sat upright behind the desk, put down the things in his hand, leaned back, the soft leather chair cushion was squeezed, and the wrinkles on the surface were also filled with a layer of light. He looked at the door through his glasses, and did not wear this thing normally, but only in the study room, and occasionally looked at things.

Xiao Jingran put the tea at his hand and "take a break."

Chen Wenxi often stays out and sometimes she spends the night when socializing with friends late. It is rare to see him at home during the day. He takes off his glasses, picks up his teacup and takes a sip.

"When is this tea?" He frowned when he put down the cup.

"Mrs. Yang gave it to me a while ago."

"Don't do this. If you can't get used to it, it's better to change what I often drink."

Xiao Jingran responded with a hum, leaning against the side of the leather chair, and resting his arms on his shoulder.

Chen Wenxi picked up the book, turned a page and glanced at her, "What are you doing?"

"What's the day in two weeks?" Xiao Jingran raised her eyebrows and hinted with a smile.

"What day?" Chen Wenxi said, "It's your birthday, do you think I can't remember it if I'm so confused?"

"Just forget." She poked his temples and calculated, "Will we eat at home or outside on my birthday?"

Chen Wenxi frowned, "What are you eating at home? I don't know what to do and think our family can spend that two dollars. The newly opened Junhua Hotel in the city center is not bad, so I'll ask you to order a few tables."

"Did you invite a friend?"

"Please call Lao Liu and Lao Zhou and others. Please ask those who come and go and do not offend others." He said, "Or open two halls directly, and your women's home is together, so that you can greet your friends."

"Who don't know my friends?" Xiao Jingran said angrily, "I understand, I will listen to you."

She tidied Chen Wenxi's collar and said, "I'll go downstairs and let them stew some Cordyceps soup." She said that.

Chen Wenxi called her and said, "Wait."

Xiao Jingran stopped and turned around, "What?"

"You usually give your son more pocket money."

"Um?"

"I think he seems to be short of money for spending." Chen Wenxi said, "I just asked for five hundred before going to school, and I gave him one thousand. He never asked me for money. Is there some money not enough?"

"No. Every time he goes out, I ask him if the money is enough, and he will give him 1200 yuan, and he will give him pocket money every month, never less." Xiao Jingran frowned and then put it flat, "Maybe he was spending money on buying gifts for classmates or classmate reunions."

"Yes." Chen Wenxi nodded, "Anyway, if you have more snacks, he is not a person who spends money randomly. Just watch it if you want it."

Xiao Jingran said yes.

She took two steps and Chen Wenxi asked her again, "Don't stew the soup, Lao Zhou will treat you to dinner in the evening, you can go with me."

Xiao Jingran responded and went back to the room to pick out the clothes she wore. After thinking about it, she thought that she would be back very late in the evening. She was worried that Chen Shu would take out the wallet from her bag and take it to Chen Shu's room.

This child is good everywhere, smart and well-behaved, handsome, talented, promising and worry-free, and never does naughty things that make adults trouble. He doesn't need to be watched by studying. He has outstanding grades and looks like whatever he learns. At this age, let alone rebellious, he has never even quarreled with her.

He was obedient since he was a child. He didn't even touch the passbook for him when he was there, and he handed it over to her without even touching it. He all had the New Year's money for the holidays and the gifts for the birthdays every year.

No one I know doesn’t envy her for such a good son.

Chen Wenxi said that Chen didn’t have enough money to spend, so how could Xiao Jingran not care about it? She is an old-fashioned person at heart, and money is enough to be able to keep it in her hands. Her wallet is always "full".

Apart from sleeping at night, Chen didn't care whether he was at home or not, and the door was basically not locked. He was not careful of his parents, and Xiao Jingran only felt very considerate and did not go through his things normally.

When he pushed the door open, the room was spotless and he didn't need to clean the room by himself, but he tidied the bed by himself, and the quilts and pillows were folded neatly. The things on the desk were also displayed in a regular manner.

Xiao Jingran walked to the desk, took out five or six hundred-dollar banknotes from her wallet, and wanted to hold the book in it, but she didn't want to mess with her son's desk, so she opened the drawer.

Put a few notes in it and was about to close the drawer, but I paused.

She put aside the money she had put down, saw a white envelope, and picked it up and took a look.

The envelopes also contain money, one hundred, and it is estimated that there are one or two thousand.

What did Chen save money?

Xiao Jingran frowned and flipped over it. She missed the calendar on his desk. There was a date of this month that was circled in a circle, and the word "mom" was written next to it.

Indeed, that day was her birthday.

Xiao Jingran was stunned for a moment, and a smile on her lips couldn't help but pour out.

"This kid..."

Xiao Jingran sighed happily, not wanting her son's thoughts to be wasted, so she had to take out the few banknotes. If he came back and found that there was money in the drawer, wouldn't he know that she had opened his drawer and saw his envelope?

After placing the things in the drawer as it is, Xiao Jingran put the money back into the wallet and left as if she had never been there.

Xiao Jingran, who considered himself "old-style", picked up his mobile phone and used electronic payments that he didn't need once every 800 years. He transferred 1,000 yuan to Chen and asked him to eat outside at night.

...

After the first class in the afternoon, Chen went to the office to help the teacher carry the exercise book back to the classroom. He met Zhao Lijie on the way. The two of them walked together for a while, but they dispersed in front of their respective classes.

The exercise book is distributed by the leaders of each group.

Chen sat back in his seat and a boy patted him behind him.

Turning his head, I heard the boy ask, "Do you play games at night?"

"No." Chen said, "It's too late to go back tonight and there's no time."

"You can finish your homework at school."

"You have to read a book when you go back."

The boy sighed, "Oh, forget it."

Chen is the back desk, and he is famous for playing games in the class. He is naturally good at using his brain. Although he is not as good as Chen Ju, he always occupies the top five. He often finishes all his homework like crazy the day before his vacation, just to play games happily during the vacation.

Chen, however, was not very interested in games. He occasionally played when he was bored and was not addicted to it.

Chen turned around and someone called him at the door of the class. He looked up and saw that it was Zhao Lijie, so he got up and went over.

Zhao Lijie came to him to talk about the next issue of the radio station.

Not long after, Chen finished talking and returned to his seat.

The boy in the back seat looked at Zhao Lijie running outside the window and poked Chen Ju's back shoulder with a pen hat.

"Hey, does Zhao Lijie like you?"

Chen turned around and heard this, and frowned and said, "No. We are all from the radio station. She is the webmaster, I am the deputy webmaster, and she talks to me about the important things."

"It's not a day or two, so there's so much serious matter to chat every day."

Chen frowned, "That's not good for girls."

"Don't believe it." The boy in the back seat swears, "I dare to bet with you that Zhao Lijie absolutely likes you! If it is not true, if it is not, my game will automatically delete it!"

Chen didn't say anything yet, and the class bell rang, but he didn't make a sound and turned around.

The phone in his pocket shook. He took it out and took a look, and his mother sent a WeChat message.

Click to see, she transferred him a thousand yuan: "Son, mom goes out for dinner with your dad tonight, you can eat outside by yourself."

...

After school in the afternoon, Zhao Lijie came to find Chen Ju.

"Go together?"

She looked at herself with a pair of smiles.

Just as he was standing by the door, his arm was hit, the man in the back seat passed by, gave him a look, and his smile was fun.

Chen frowned and said, "No, I won't go home for dinner today."

"Ah? Then let's have a meal together? I just don't really want to go back." Zhao Lijie said again.

Chen declined: "Maybe it's not convenient, I have something else to do."

With a little regret in his smile, Zhao Lijie said, "That's it, then next time."

Chen said goodbye to her, took her bicycle, and rode out of the school gate.

I kept riding, turning a few street corners, and gradually got farther away from the school.

More than ten minutes later, I stopped at the door of a piano store.

Chen parked the car under the tree and pushed the door open and went in.

The clerk of the piano store is a boy, and he is gentle and smiles as soon as he sees him, "Hello."

"Hello." Chen nodded to the other party.

"Come on the piano I saw before?"

Chen walked along a row of containers, hesitated for a moment, and said, "It's a little more expensive."

"It's a little more expensive than the one I saw last time?"

"Yes." He said, "I will watch three thousand levels, but I won't watch more than two thousand."

The clerk said, and took him to see the violin priced at 3,000 yuan.

It was faster than the previous few times, so Chen finalized it and paid the other party a deposit.

“I’ll get it on Friday night.”
