Chapter 1896 The earliest root carving work

The stone pillar foundation carvings of Luze Association Hall are widely used and have novel shapes.

Most of them are birds and animals, combined with auspicious plants, and each movement and the other is still, reflecting the light, creating a unique artistic effect.

It can be seen from this that the unique conception and superb skills of ancient artists.

And there are some regrets here, because some of the precious buildings inside have been damaged.

Although Luze Guild Hall has been listed as a "National Cultural Relics Protection Unit" due to its nearly 300 years of history and relatively well preserved.

However, part of its essence disappeared forever.

Now I can no longer see the handicraft art and craftsmanship on it. This part of the essence is the Jiulong Wall, Wenchang Tower and Kuixing Tower in front of the theater.

They were all destroyed in the 1960s and 1970s, like the Nine Dragon Wall, which was originally located at the southernmost end of the central axis of the Luze Guild Hall.

It faces south and north, about 10 meters high and about 8 meters wide.

Hundreds of glazed components are embedded on the wall, with gorgeous decorations.

On the south side of the screen wall, there are double Sumeru stone mounts, and the waist is decorated with a variety of blessing and longevity patterns.

The wall is made of three circular three-dimensional sculptures, inlaid with patterns such as "two dragons playing with beads", "kid lion playing with fighting", and "fishing, woodcutters and farming" in turn.

Two pairs of couplets are embedded between the patterns and both sides. The inner line is "the glow of the scripture wall is comparable to the wealth, and the soup wall admires the heroic spirit", and the outer line is "the great spirit has swallowed Wu and Wei, and the magnolia always concealed Jin and Qin", which is extremely evident to the reputation of the martial saint Guan Yu.

On the north side of the screen wall, there are double Sumeru stone mounts, with the same pattern as the south side.

Nine auspicious dragons are inlaid in the middle of the wall, surrounding the nine dragons with the characters "Fu" meaning wealth, peony and auspiciousness.

The Jiulong Wall of Luze Guild Hall has high historical value, scientific value and artistic value.

After more than 240 years of storm, it encountered a big storm, but unfortunately it was not preserved.

It was demolished at the same time as the nearby Wenchang Pavilion and Kuixing Tower.

Of course, there are not many good things in Yangluo now, because after all, there are profound historical and cultural heritage, so there are many inheritors.

When he walked out of the guild hall, Chen Wenzhe saw an exquisite root sculpture.

This is a root sculpture of "The Yellow River Family". It is made very exquisitely and has top-notch skills.

Seeing it, Chen Wenzhe seemed to have seen the carving knife in the author's hand flying over the log.

It is either rough and powerful, or carefully carved. After some carving, an unknown piece of log will complete a gorgeous transformation.

Whether it is the characters or the story scene, whether it is flowers, trees, insects, fish, birds and beasts, a small piece of wood is full of wonderful worlds, which is the traditional charm of wood carvings.

This is Mengjin wood carving, and only by getting close can you feel the beauty of this wood carving art.

Chen Wenzhe could see that it was seven parts natural and three parts artificial, and this was how it showed the ingenuity of it.

It was the golden autumn season, and Chen Wenzhe walked into someone else's studio because of a carving.

It was also when Chen Wenzhe came here that he discovered that there was a different world here.

From this we can also see that Yang Luo is truly worthy of being the thousand-year-old capital.

Walking into the Anshi Woodcarving Studio in Mengjin, the fragrance of golden nanmu wafts from the air.

The owner here is a representative inheritor of the municipal intangible cultural heritage and the fifth generation inheritor of Mengjin wood carving.

At this time, the wood carving master was concentrating on carving. Under the influence of his family environment, he was good at oil painting and stone carving.

On the basis of inheriting his ancestral property, from 2009 to 2015, he went to Hu Jian to learn root carving and wood carving skills.

From then on, I mastered the entire process of materials selection, composition, embryo punching, carving, polishing to finished products, as well as various carving techniques such as relief, three-dimensional carving, hollow carving, etc.

Wood carving is a type of sculpture. When choosing materials, the tree species with fine and tough texture and are not easily deformed, such as nanmu, cliff cypress, red sandalwood, camphor wood, ginkgo, agarwood, etc.

The wood carvings he made are seven parts natural and three parts man-made. He mainly carved roots, based on the natural root shape and based on the characteristics of the root material.

Movable and flexible grasp the parts that are more carved and less carved. Keep what should be kept, and don’t keep what should not be kept.

You can also create a certain interest based on the color, cave, scar, texture, etc. of the root material to create a certain amount of interest.

The creation of wood carving works is based on the intention, unlike root carvings that are based on the material.

Once the author has clarified the theme, he can carve it according to his personal preferences and interests.

The work "Yellow River House" presents the life scenes of the Yellow River House and uses root carving art to promote the Yellow River culture.

In the early days, most of the wood carvings were Buddha statues, and then gradually developed into flowers, birds, mountains and rivers.

In recent years, he has based on traditional wood carving craftsmanship and combined it with modern creativity, and has continuously innovated in summarizing years of carving experience.

That is why a group of creative root carving works with Yangluo regional characteristics were carved.

These works are full of Heluo culture elements and are rich in folk art connotations. They are loved and collected by art lovers.

Root carving tea table, flower stand, root art lamps, decorative paintings...

In this studio, there are a wide variety of wood carvings and root carving artworks, gradually entering the homes of ordinary people.

For real wood carving, the market potential is definitely not as great as root carving.

It’s not that the root carving is better, but because modern people are following it.

Of course, ancient people also liked root carvings, especially ancient scholars, after all, this is an elegant thing.

Since some people pursue it, there are naturally many works that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Surprisingly, in this studio, Chen Wenzhe saw a very ancient root sculpture artwork.

"This should be a fake, right?" Looking at the dragon in front of him, Chen Wenzhe quickly confirmed that this should be a fake.

Because he remembered that this dragon was unearthed.

However, it should indeed be the earliest root carving work discovered in my country.
