Chapter 51 The Continued Story

"Later, I remembered Sir Barrow's words..."

"Fifty years ago, Tom captured Slytherin's heir and ended the attack."

"Then, before Christmas, I found out that the person who was caught was Rube Hager." Brian looked at the two people and said, "When you went to find out the news on Christmas, I told you, and I hope you can ask him what news..."

Harry seemed a little embarrassed, and he said uncomfortable: "We...we can't speak with him..."

"Okay, I understand." Brian nodded, "To be honest, I don't believe that Hagrid is the heir, that's even more outrageous than the heir being Porter. After all, from any perspective, I can't see that he has any potential as Slytherin's heir..."

Harry coughed lightly, and his emerald green eyes looked at him dissatisfied.

"And as the guard of Hogwarts' hunting ground, he has been in peace for so many years, and he has no need to open the secret room again at this time..." Brian continued without changing his face.

"So I was really panicked. I had a premonition that the secret room was inseparable from Tom's diary." Brian said, "I began to think that maybe it was really an evil item that would control the holder."

"After all... it makes sense for the initiator to catch a person to pay for his crime, right?" Brian said in a vague tone.

Harry and Ron looked at each other and swallowed at the same time.

"What happened later?" Harry said dryly.

"Later, of course, I continued to investigate. If things were caused by me, I would always take responsibility." Brian said lightly, "I began to investigate everything that happened fifty years ago, and the dead student might be a breakthrough."

"You found out who is the identity of that person?"

"Yes, you should even be familiar with her." Brian smiled, "the dead girl's body was found in a bathroom..."

"The bathroom..." Harry murmured and said in disbelief, "Can he say... it's the crying Myrtle?"

Ron frowned, looking a little surprised.

"I think it should be her." Brian smiled.

"What did you know from her?" Harry said anxiously.

"Not yet, I'll come to find you first."

"Let's go and ask her!" Harry jumped up and ran towards the other end of the corridor. Ron also chased after him.

"Hey..." Brian opened his mouth, sighed helplessly, and muttered to himself, "It's worthy of being Gryffindor."

He also raised his foot and chased after him.

They came to the bathroom on the second floor, and the crying Myrtle was sitting on the water tank of the innermost toilet, with a depressed and dark expression.

"Oh, it's you," she looked up at Harry with tears in her eyes, "What do you want to do this time?"

"I want to ask how you died." Harry said.

Myrtle's expression suddenly changed, and she seemed honored and proud. She said with relish: "Oh, that's so terrible. It happened here, and I died in this single room."

"I remember very clearly that I was hiding here and crying, and suddenly I heard someone come in. What they said was funny, probably in another language." Myrtle showed a memory expression, "But this annoyed me, because it was a boy's voice. So I opened the door and scolded him to walk away..."

"What?" Ron asked nervously.

"Then..." Myrtle raised her chest with magnificent glory on her face, "I'm dead."

"How did you die?" Harry asked.

"I don't know." Myrtle said mysteriously, "I only remember seeing a pair of scary yellow eyes, and then I floated away... Later I came back..." She smiled, "It made those who laughed at me feel extremely regretful."

"Where did you see those eyes?" Harry asked.

"It's almost there." Myrtle pointed casually at the pool in front of her.

Harry and Ron hurried over and checked up and down. Brian stood quietly aside and watched with relish with Myrtle.

"Oh, little boy, or little girl, what's your name? You're the kind I like..." Myrtle seemed in a good mood and said to Brian in a frivolous tone.

"Sorry, I don't like you." Brian kept smiling and said softly and politely.

Myrtle's eyes suddenly became foggy, and big silver-white tears rolled down her translucent cheeks. She cried and got into the toilet, splashing the water in the toilet everywhere.

"I knew that no one would like to be a fat lady, an ugly monster, a pitiful, crying, and depressed..." She sobbed loudly, her voice seemed dull.

"At least you are very self-aware." Brian added lazily.

"Wow—" Myrtle's crying became louder, and she splashed the toilet water on Brian, but Brian walked out of the compartment early.

"I found it!" Harry said. Ron leaned over. They looked at the copper faucet, with a small snake engraved on the side.

Harry twisted the faucet, but found that it had no water.

"Try it with the Slytherin's accent, Porter." Brian leaned over and said softly, "Slytherin's heir should be Slytherin's accent, that's why I'm looking for you."

Harry stared at the snake, trying to think of it as a real snake, and he said, "Open it."

"No, Harry, you're talking about human words." Ron said.

Harry looked at the snake, and he shook his head, forcing himself to imagine it as a real snake.

"Open." He hissed.

Under a dazzling white light, the thick water pipe hidden under the pool was exposed in front of everyone.

Harry and Ron took a deep breath as they looked at the bottomless pipe.

"What should I do?" Ron said.

"Do you want to go down?" Harry swallowed his saliva, looking a little undecided. He looked at Brian.

"You... don't know what the monster inside is, just want to go down?" Brian seemed puzzled.

He didn't understand, shouldn't he think of looking for a professor when facing this situation?

The choices between Harry and the other in the original work also made Brian unable to understand.

"Maybe Gryffindor's adventure factor drives them especially strongly at this time." Brian had to comfort himself like this, "drives them to commit suicide..."

"Yes, what would it be?" Harry said a little disgusted, "It would be great if Hermione was there."

"I think, I know what it is." Brian said.

"What is it?" Ron asked.

"It can communicate with people in the serpent accent, and it must be a snake monster." Brian said softly, "There are big yellow eyes that make people petrified, but Myrtle died directly after looking directly at its eyes..."

"I know there is such a creature - the Basilisk." Brian said slowly, "also known as the Snake King."

"It is hatched from a rooster egg and a toad. It is very huge and can live for hundreds of years. Its venom is very terrible. Its stare will kill people, and indirectly see its eyes will also make people petrified. Spiders will run away when they see the snake monster, and the rooster is the natural enemy of the snake monster, because the rooster's cry is deadly to it."

"I understand!" Harry said with a high-high, "so we always see spiders running in a row, and Hagrid's rooster is gone. And the sound I kept hearing is actually the basilisk moving in the water pipe..."

"Then those petrified people saw its eyes indirectly." Harry thought, walking around excitedly, "Mrs. Loris...well, there is a pool of water. Filch saw the reflection on the window glass. The witch Hufflepuff was wearing glasses. Justin and Hermione had a mirror!"

Harry suddenly turned to Brian and said, "So, Forley, are you wearing glasses preventing the Basilisk?"

"Yes, it's not difficult to think of that monster as a snake monster, spider, rooster, petrified, and maybe a snake - after all, Slytherin loves snakes - there are too many clues," said Brian. "As long as you read more about monsters, anyone with a brain should not find it."

Harry and Ron coughed awkwardly.

"So, do you think Dumbledore knows?" Harry said suddenly.
