Chapter 37 Christmas
The heavy and quiet snow quietly enveloped the entire castle.
Hogwarts became quiet, from all aspects. Most of the young wizards went home for Christmas, and there were only a few scattered figures in the venue.
Apart from Brian, there were only a few senior students left in the Slytherin lounge whispering, and it was obvious that the little wizards prefer to go home for Christmas.
Draco took Crab and Goal out to play with snow. Brian sat alone in a soft armchair in front of the fireplace to roast the fire, communicating with Tom.
"I don't think it's a feasible solution to go to war with Muggles. Tom, it's harder than eradicating the mud breeds in the wizarding world. Apart from those unscrupulous and lawless madmen, few people will like war, and even most pure blood families will not agree..."
"So, the wizarding world must have a true ruler. People are short-sighted, and those stupid people need strong and wise people to lead..." Tom responded.
"Indeed, this is short-sighted. The current wizarding world still has the impression of Muggles a few hundred years ago. Perhaps in a few years, Muggles will be discovered first... But war is not a means to solve the problem. The number of wizards is too small, which is not worth mentioning compared to Muggles..."
"We need not destroy or establish, we need to eliminate future troubles forever, Brian." Tom said toughly, "Muggles cannot resist the curse of forgetting and soul-taking curse. As long as we take the initiative, they will not have the power to turn over. At that time, we can turn Muggles into slaves like housewifes. Isn't that good?"
"It's probably hard, Tom." Brian wrote for a moment of silence, "We put ourselves in our shoes, even if we take control of the Muggle's top leaders first, you know, the rebels in the wizarding world will definitely seek the power of Muggle..."
"They will help Muggles, seek development in secret, plot against each other. They will even train wizards for Muggles and strengthen their strength..."
"And enslavement of Muggles is never something that can be accomplished overnight, and it will inevitably take several generations of efforts. But we obviously cannot control everyone. They are not as few as house elves."
"And the rebels will always be like endless weeds, inciting more and more people to stand up and resist. They will also have more wizards and develop more weapons, and in the end, it may turn into a war that swept the world."
"We just need to win, as long as we have stronger strength," Tom responded.
"But then, even if we win in the end, how many people can we have left?" Brian's eyes were deep, "The world of wizards is almost going to perish."
"And, Muggles won't watch themselves be enslaved forever. The greatest possibility is to decide to die together when things cannot be done. They have this ability."
"You always think about things in a bad direction, Brian. At that time, we can fully promise them to live in part and then let some Muggles deal with them. It turns out that when your own people turn around and deal with your own people, it is the most cruel."
"You always think things too well, Tom. Is that world really what we want? A world that is always in war?"
"But there is no doubt that we will be at the top of the Muggle." Tom said ruthlessly.
"Okay." Brian said, "You're a lunatic, Tom."
"There is only a thread between a genius and a madman, Brian." Tom's handwriting seemed casual.
Brian closed the diary and sighed softly at the crackling fire in the fireplace.
"Sure enough, I shouldn't have any expectations for Tom." He said softly, "What he wants to do is not to let the wizard be above the Muggles, but to let himself be above everyone..."
He gently threw the diary in his hand and fell into deep thought.
...
The dawn of Christmas quietly came, and under the influence of the biological clock, Brian opened his eyes on time.
He got up from the bed, changed himself into a dark green plush dressing gown, and looked at the pile of gifts beside the foot of the bed.
Draco also woke up, said "morning" in a daze, and then got up like sleepwalking. Crab and Gole were still sleeping in.
"Merry Christmas," said Brian. He picked up his gifts and opened them one by one.
Mrs. Fley gave him a pair of warm gloves, and Mr. Fley gave him a gorgeously shaped self-defense dagger.
Draco gave him a thick diary that could hide the diary written on it. Daphne's gift was a silver-framed mirror. Brian looked at it, and the mirror shouted in a sharp female voice: "Cut your hair!"
Theodore gave him a thick book about alchemy, and he knew that Bryan was studying alchemy. And Brees's gift was a music box in the shape of a fire dragon. Bryan thought about it and did not take the risk of opening it. He guessed what that would be like.
The gift from Crabbe and Goll is still a large bag of candy.
It is worth mentioning that Luna gave him an extremely gorgeous Christmas hat, which was dark green overall, and the spire was a Christmas tree wrapped in colorful lights and ribbons. The things hanging on it spewed out wisps of colorful smoke from time to time, making a slight "puff" sound. There was a shiny star floating above, emitting bright golden light.
Brian believes that it takes some courage to go out with this hat.
The Christmas banquet was still relaxed and pleasant, and everyone seemed to have forgotten the shadow of the secret room and enjoyed the festive atmosphere with a smile.
Draco wore a silver top hat, looked at the hall decoration with a picky look, and slowly commented on the food on the dining table.
Crab and Gole ate and drank on their own, without hearing Draco's words at all.
Brian smiled and agreed with Draco's words. Draco quickly lost interest in these things and began to mock Harry's new sweater. But Harry was not concerned at all, obviously this was not normal.
Dumbledore led everyone to sing a few Christmas carols, and Hagrid's voice was particularly loud. Snape's face was expressionless and the corners of his mouth did not move.
During the banquet, Brian saw Harry and Ron sneak out. He looked at the guest seat, Dumbledore was talking to Professor McGonagall with a smile, Hagrid was filling her egg cucumber, and Snape was eating a roasted turkey.
Brian shook his head, not curious about what the two slipped away little wizards were going to do, and left with Draco after eating a Christmas pudding.
Obviously Crab and Goll still ate with relish and had no intention of leaving.
The two walked out of the auditorium and saw the Pipi ghosts pulling mistletoe while passing by a corridor. He planned to pull them on the ground and try to trip someone else.
Seeing the two people coming, Pipi Ghost sneered them with a wicked smile, making faces, and laughing loudly, singing his newly compiled song: "Oh, look at you, one hides his head and reveals his tail, and the other is sharp-mouthed monkey cheek..."
"Pipi Ghost, are you itchy again?" Brian pulled out his wand and said lazily.
The Pipi's voice stopped abruptly, and he stuck out his tongue in an evil manner, patted his butt, and began to throw the mistletoe on them.
When Brian was about to use magic to drive him away, Pipi Ghost Sing flew away with a smile. The two of them looked back and saw that it was Professor Snape who came over. He was still wearing a black robe and a top hat of the same color on his head.
"Professor Snape." The two of them said politely.
Snape nodded slightly and said in a low tone: "The situation in the school has been complicated recently, so don't go out to hang out at night."
"Professor Snape, is it the secret room?" Draco said with interest, "Do you know the heir?"
"You don't need to know this, Draco." Snape said in a sleek tone, "but that's undoubtedly a crazy thing. Don't be curious about it. If you run into him at night, I don't think he's going to mind killing people to silence him."
Draco sneered twice and said in a long tone: "So it's definitely not Harry Potter, that sensational clown..."
They walked downwards and ran into Harry, who was leaning against the wall at a corner. He seemed a little panicked when he saw the three of them. The tip of the wand in his hand emitted red sparks and made a harsh whistle.
After the voice passed, Snape said coldly: "Potter, what are you doing?"
"Oh, the famous Harry Potter, why did he come here?" Draco put down his hand covering his ears, staring at him maliciously, "I think you must be doing something bad?"
"Don't tell me you are waiting for the secret room to open. The children in your secret room are not at home today?" At this point, Draco sneered.
Harry stared at them unwillingly and said dryly: "Are you not allowed to leave here?"
"The second time I contradicted the professor, Porter Gryffindor deducted twenty." Snape said slackingly, "Go back to where you should be, if I find any movement in the corridor again..."
Harry nodded randomly and ran away absent-mindedly.
Draco looked at Harry's back with some smugness, raised his eyebrows and said, "I think he is doing something bad, Professor."
Snape moved his head slightly and said, "It's time for you to go back."
Brian and Draco nodded and said goodbye to Snape.
"Wait." Snape called Brian and handed him a thin old book, then walked away without looking back.
"What is this?" Draco leaned over.
"Maybe...it's considered a Christmas gift?" Brian flipped through the notebook, which recorded some potion recipes and some small spells.
