introduction
In the spring of 1997, in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou, there were many tourists and smoke. This was originally a quiet valley by the West Lake. The mountains were not high but beautiful, and the water was not deep but clear. It was a good place for monks to practice. However, when tourism became an important economic pillar here, the bustling roads between the mountains were not the great monks, but the ordinary people who came to visit the mountains and rivers, or seek fame and fortune. The gentleman of the style was one of these ordinary people.
It was two or three o'clock in the afternoon, and it was the time when the tourists were the most. Feng Junzi just walked to the gate of the mountain in the crowded crowd and was surrounded by a group of vendors holding incense and candles. "Boss, please give me a stick of incense. The Bodhisattvas in Lingyin Temple are very good. You can't be empty-handed if you ask for blessings."
Feng Junzi likes to study metaphysics, but is not a Buddhist. He did not intend to worship Buddha, but was just a little curious about the legendary place where Jigong practiced. Perhaps because he was infected by the surrounding atmosphere, or perhaps in order to get rid of the entanglement of these vendors as soon as possible, Feng Junzi still spent twenty yuan a piece of incense and candle and walked slowly into Lingyin Temple.
Ancient sites like Lingyin Temple do not allow ordinary pilgrims to light incense and candles in the hall. Several large incense burners are placed on the left and right in the courtyard outside the hall for tourists to burn incense. Incense and candles are worshipped in different incense burners. The incense burners are a bit like the alchemy furnace of Taishang Laojun in the TV series. The lit incense is inserted on the incense ash in the belly of the incense burner. The incense burner with candles is like a small pavilion. There is a row of candlesticks made of iron racks in the pavilion, with four corners of the top cover.
Although Feng Junzi offered incense and candles, he did not sincerely worship Buddha. Along the way, he just lit the incense and candles and put them in. Many believers naturally squeezed at the entrances of various halls to wait for kowtows after offering incense and candles. Feng Junzi also squeezed in and lined up to join in the fun. When it was Feng Junzi's turn, Feng Junzi just walked to the front of Tuanpu, looked up at the Buddha statue and bowed, with an indifferent smile on his face.
At that time, Feng Junzi didn't know what was wrong with doing this. Later, his friend Professor Song taught him a lesson: "How could you be a thief-minded person like you to worship Buddha? Either you are a completely tourist, or you burn incense and worship Buddha according to Buddhist rituals. This is not a question of faith or not, but a question of respect or disrespect."
Unfortunately, Feng Junzi didn't understand this truth at that time. He walked out of the Last Medicine Buddha Hall. Feng Junzi lit the last incense candle and turned around to leave. At this time, he was thinking to himself: "These believers who were lying on the place and kowtowed were a bit ridiculous. If kowtows solve the problem, wouldn't there be no worries in the world? I don't have it anyway..."
Just as Feng Junzi's thoughts reached this point, he could only hear a "dang" sound in his earlobe, just like a big bell in a temple ringing in the middle of his forehead, and the echo resounded throughout his mind. There was a flash in front of him, and nothing could be seen in an instant. He felt the golden light flashing. It took him a long time to wake up.
If someone was standing next to him, he would see something very bizarre: a man turned to the direction outside the mountain gate after offering incense candles, and suddenly stopped, and his whole body seemed to be fixed by something in the air. Of course, this was not because of some miracle, but the middle of the man's forehead hit a corner of the eaves of the incense burner, and the collision was quite heavy. The entire metal incense burner made a "watch" sound. At the same time, the person's figure suddenly stopped, and something flew out of him and landed on a bluestone slab five meters away.
The thing flying out was the glasses worn by Feng Junzi. Feng Junzi seemed to be stunned by the collision, and it took him a long time to recover. He realized that his forehead had hit the eaves of the incense burner, but he was even more confused. He shouldn't have hit the position he was walking just now, but the corner eaves of the incense burner suddenly seemed to grow a section that was right on his forehead. He suddenly remembered the two words "kowtow" he was about to think of just now, and was shocked.
Feng Junzi originally suspected that this was just a coincidence, but later two things forced his suspicion to shake. One was that his forehead was very heavy against the metal. According to common sense, it would be strange if he didn't grow a small head, but strangely, there was no scar or even bruises, just like nothing was wrong. The other was that his glasses flew five meters away and fell on the hard stone floor, but they were not broken. Not only did they not break, but there was no slight scratch. These were almost impossible, but it was the case.
