Chapter 1 Competition

Full text of Baishuwu

In the passage leading to the laboratory, a short mustached man walked forward with steady steps. His hair was greasy, but not because he applied wax, but because he was naturally greasy; his expression was pale and stiff, but not because he had no emotions, but because his muscles and skin on his face had lost their activity.

He was wearing a dark blue uniform, which was cut like a long gown, with the words "evo devotion" printed on the neckline. When he walked, he was used to put his hands behind his waist, holding his right wrist with his left hand, and holding his head and chest up. Although his height was about 1.6 meters and it was difficult to look down on others, he still liked to act arrogantly and arrogantly.

His name is Adolf. The director of the Imperial Secret Research Department, Evo Lution. He looks like a middle-aged man, his actual age is unknown, and his personal specific information and abilities have not appeared in any archives of Eas or the Empire.

Adolf walked through the corridor and came to Laboratory No. 4. After the electronic door opened, a strong smell of disinfectant came to his nose. Even if the air circulation system had been adjusted to its maximum power, it would be useless.

In the laboratory, many staff wearing masks were busy, their dresses were all gray, and only one of them was wearing the same dark blue uniform as Adolf.

"Hess, come here," Adolf said.

Like his director, Hess had a stiff face, and a not-so-conspicuous face of a white middle-aged man: "Director." He walked to Adolf and saluted.

Adolf glanced at the experimental compartment behind Hess: "How is the situation with the 'butcher'?"

Hess replied: "Senior Experimental Edmund Lee has been confirmed dead. The damage after his limb was crushed by Hell Island can be ignored, but the fatal attack he initially was located in the brain and could not be repaired. There is no advertisement in the full text of Baishuwu."

Adolf did not express any comment on the complete death of the butcher, but said: "How did the cell evolve?"

Hess said: "The data shows that before his death, he should have experienced a considerable degree of fear or stimulation. The apricot body emits a strong signal, which activates the evolution of the 'e cell' and increases the strength of his five senses and main muscle groups in a short period of time. But this change stopped quickly, indicating that the other party killed him without taking too long. Unfortunately... the battle did not last, otherwise we would have obtained more valuable research materials."

"The funding for salvaging his pile of rotten meat from the ruins of the sea is not low..." Adolf said.

Just as he was talking, two muffled bangs came from the experimental cabin containing the butcher's body, and two tentacle-like things hit the hatch glass.

Hess looked back, then turned the stiff face back, and calmly said to Director Adolf: "Before being searched by the 'seppers', his body seemed to have swallowed several marine creatures, but the butcher's e-cells have evolved to a considerable degree and will not fuse those meaningless inferior genes, but have absorbed the limbs."

Adolf said: "That's good, then... keep the original data of these e-cells, take a part of them to save them, and then check the archives in the bureau, and find a suitable intermediate experimenter to replace the "butcher."

While Adolf was already preparing for the field staff, Jugashvili sat behind the desk, staring at the order documents, frowned and said nothing.

He felt that this mission was very important, so why did the superiors issue such strange instructions that allowed the two bureaus to send two people to cooperate in this operation? The relationship between the e Bureau and the f Bureau has been very tense, and there has never been any cooperation.

He thought to himself: Could this be some kind of competition arranged above? Some kind of... observation and testing?
