Chapter 40 Bulletproof Test!

However, soft body armor made of fibers is different, with higher technical requirements and greater difficulty.

Looking around the world, there are only two types of fibers that make bulletproof vests, aramid and polymer polyethylene fibers, referred to as PE for short.

As of 2020, my country's annual PE production has reached an astonishing 20 million tons.

Aramid fiber is monopolized by the three major factories in the world, namely DuPont, Japanese Democratic People, and Taihe New Materials from Yantai, my country.

Of course, as far as aramid is concerned, DuPont is still too powerful, accounting for more than 50% of the world's share. Compared with them, Diren and Taihe New Materials are just brothers. Although they work very hard, they can never defeat the arrogant DuPont.

We have all the raw materials used to make bulletproof vests, so we can occupy more than 70% of the world's share.

The sales of China's body armor are really huge, but as for some people, it is of course impossible for China's body armor to be invincible and even the US military is using it.

Because according to the Bailey Amendment, textiles used by the US military, as well as some shoes and boots, must be produced locally.

In short, what really makes the General Equipment Department worry is not the lack of bulletproof vests, but the lack of top bulletproof products.

Kevlar is essentially aramid, but it has made major technological improvements based on aramid fibers and added polymer coatings to overcome the problem of accelerated aging of ultraviolet rays.

There is also the third-generation bulletproof vest that is rumored to the world. At present, countries are still in the confidential research and development stage, but everyone knows that the third-generation bulletproof vest will definitely not be based on aramid, but on PE.

Then the question is, since we have 20 million tons of PE production capacity, isn’t it easy to build a third-generation bulletproof vest?

In fact, it is not easy at all, because the third-generation body armor will definitely not use ordinary PE. It is necessary to have top-grade polyethylene fibers with ultra-high molecular weight and ultra-high density to take on this important task.

This is like the one used on a construction site is called steel cable, and the interception cable on an aircraft carrier is also called steel cable, but they are not the same thing.

"Is this the bulletproof fiber of Kunlun Company? Can you catch up with Kevra?"

There are six levels of the national standard for bulletproof vests.

GA1 uses a Type 64 pistol, lead bullet.

GA2 type 54 pistol, lead bullet.

GA3 uses the Type 79 submachine gun, lead bullet.

GA4 uses the Type 79 submachine gun and steel bullet.

GA5 uses a Type 56 automatic rifle and steel bullet.

GA6 uses a Type 85 sniper rifle and steel bullet.

From level one to level six, one shot is shot according to the gun requirements, and the body armor can withstand it. Even if it meets the standards, this test is simple and rough, but it is closer to actual combat.

One plus one means a layer of bulletproof fiber and a layer of buffer fiber.
