Chapter 180 William's Trap

There is a saying in Hogwarts:

No one can fully explore the secrets of the school.

William agrees very much with this sentence.

Even though he spent three times in time and stayed in school for decades, he did not dare to boast about it and knew all the secrets.

Why did Voldemort want to teach in school?

In addition to trying to deceive students and become his reserve army, he also wanted to continue exploring the secrets of this ancient castle.

Hogwarts is like a black hole. No matter how long you stay here, it is always full of mystery and attracts you to explore.

For example, that underground palace... is what William has always been curious about.

William actually discovered the underground palace six years ago. At that time, he was still a simple, kind first-grade cute newbie.

And now, I have the last year to graduate from Hogwarts.

So, this is the secret he wants to crack the most.

Speaking of the underground palace... its most mysterious place lies in the small island in the middle of the lake, where there are pyramids on it.

It was an unfinished pyramid with no spire, like the pattern behind a dollar.

On the pyramid, there is a wooden coffin platform where four coffins are stored!

William had tried to arrive on the island countless times, and even took the Deathly Hallows, but he couldn't get close.

At first he thought that magic was covering the lake and preventing others from entering.

But as we grow up, with William's current vision, we can easily detect... that island is not in Hogwarts at all.

It's just a projection.

Since you are not in school, how can you touch it?

Dumbledore stood in front of the curtain and whispered:

"That year, Slytherin, among the Big Four, left Hogwarts first.

Afterwards, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor left one after another... they disappeared.

Only Ms. Hufflepuff, who stayed alone in the school and became the principal."

The past thousands of years ago is told in Dumbledore's voice.

"Huffing Patch trained many outstanding wizards, and with her efforts, Hogwarts became the best magic school in the world until one day..."

The principal paused, looked at the curtain and continued:

"A coffin floated out behind this arch, and after being obtained by Hufflepuff, he was brought back to Hogwarts."

"Coffin?" William narrowed his eyes. "The coffin in the underground palace?"

"Yes, it's one of the four coffins." Dumbledore affirmed William's guess.

As for how he knows... the reason is very simple:

There is a meditation basin in the principal's office, which is a magical item left by Hufflepuff before leaving.

Principals of all generations will keep some memories they think are important in them for later principals to consider.

The portraits of the principals in offices, in accordance with the magical constraints of Hogwarts, must also obey the orders of each principal and not disobey.

Therefore, it is easy for Dumbledore to know the secrets of the era of the Big Four.

"The coffin is a signal... a signal given by the disappearing giants." Dumbledore explained softly:

Exchange good books and follow the vx official account. [Book Friends Base Camp]. Follow now and you can receive cash red envelopes!

“When Hufflepuff got the coffin, he left Hogwarts for her chosen successor and left alone.

No one knew where she went, just like Gryffindor and the others... no trace anymore.

Of course, the coffin was also taken away by Hufflepuff."

William slowly digested Dumbledore's words, and looked at the arch and said curiously:

"The coffin floated out from behind? So what's behind?"

"Do you still remember the story of the three brothers?" Dumbledore asked.

William nodded.

“At the beginning of the story, let us know:

The three brothers encountered a river blocking the road, and the god of death stood on the shore." Dumbledore said.

"Nico always believed that the river metaphor for the trial of the God of Death, and only by passing it can you see the God of Death."

The professor said in a deep voice:

"But that river also has practical significance, that is the river next to death... River Styx!"

"And behind this archway is connected to the River Styx."

The principal was silent for a moment, then looked at William and said:

"The evidence is simple, can you hear the sound of water coming from behind the curtain and... whispering?"

William was stunned. He could only feel a force urging him to enter, but he could not hear any sound.

"Someone is talking behind this?" he said curiously.

"Look... you are much less affected than me." Dumbledore closed his eyes and pondered, as if listening to something.

After a while, he said sadly:

“I could hear Ariana’s voice, I could hear my parents’ voice… They were all calling me through the arches and reunite with them.

There are no more worries, no separation."

But Dumbledore didn't move.

Although the sound was true, as if his parents and sister were behind the arch... it was not enough to seduce him.

How could a lonely and widowed old man who has been facing Eris's magic mirror for many years... but is unattainable, easily be deceived by voices?

Dumbledore sighed:

“The souls of the dead are flooded in the River Styx.

Therefore, standing in front of the arch, it will, like the mirror of Eris, make us hear the voice of the dead whom we are desperately missing in our hearts."

William suddenly realized.

He has never lost the most important person... he can't hear any sound and is much less affected.

He thought for a while and asked again, "What if he can't stand the temptation, what if he enters the arch?"

"I don't know, I've never been in, but we can make a bold guess..."

Dumbledore stared at the curtain through his half-moon glasses:

"The three brothers were afraid of being drowned, so they chose to build a bridge and continue to cross the river.

They are all very powerful wizards, but they dare not wade. I think the living people will enter the Styx directly... they will probably die in it."

William frowned and said, "Since the coffin floated out of the Styx, will the Big Three go to look for the God of Death after the three left?"

"William, I think so," Dumbledore agreed: "You still remember the painting from Hogwarts' kitchen?"

William nodded.

In the Hogwarts Kitchen, there is a painting called "The Last Supper".

The content of the painting is the last time the four giants have had a dinner together:

Hufflepuff held up the cup, which was a small double-handled gold cup.

Ravenclaw, with a crown and a bronze ring on his right hand, quietly flipping through a book made of tree bark in his hand...

The painting looks ordinary, but if anyone who knows the Deathly Hallows goes to see it, you will find the horror:

Each of the four giants has a Deathly Hallows in their hands, and some even have more than one.

In other words... most of the Deathly Hallows have appeared in Hogwarts and have been collected by the four giants.

"Gryffindor and the others naturally knew about death." Dumbledore said seriously.

"Although the four of them are not related by blood, they are as close as brothers and sisters.

According to the story of the three brothers, three people need to set out, but only three people can do it.

There must be one person in the Big Four who can't go. I think this is also the reason why Hufflepuff did not leave and stayed alone in Hogwarts."

William continued Dumbledore's words and continued:

"And after finding the god of death, Ravenclaw and the other two used that coffin to pick Hufflepuff?"

Dumbledore nodded slightly, judging from the information from multiple parties... it is indeed the case.

William thought.

This has another way to find the god of death.

But like Grindelwald's method... it is not repeatable at all.

Because William doesn't know where the coffin is!
