Chapter 240: The Romance of the Conferred God
The origin of Chinese Taoism is traditionally divided into two parts. Part of it originates from ancient Shinto, which involves a worship act caused by human reverence for the natural climate in the oldest period.
If you really want to trace the wind god, the thunder god, the water god, the fire god, and even various powerful beasts, unknown mysterious things, etc., you can basically classify this aspect and be absorbed by Taoism for your own use.
As for the other part, it is the Taoist theory originated from "Laozi", which is first seen in "Laozi Xiang'er Notes". The earliest origin of true Taoist thought can be traced back to Laozi and Zhuangzi, so Taoism almost always regards Laozi as the leader.
But it is also said that the first official classic of Taoism should be the "Taiping Jing", which was completed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, so the Eastern Han Dynasty is regarded as the initial period of Taoism. The three books "Taiping Jing", "Zhou Yisan Tongqi", and "Laozi Xiang'er Notes" are symbols of the formation of Taoist beliefs and theories.
But compared with the complex theories of Taoism, the pursuit beyond the world and the larger system of immortals, the Buddhist teachings are obviously closer to the public and more people-oriented. For example, they cleverly use the idea that everyone is afraid of death to attract popularity.
Don’t look at the sutras and those, in fact, a large part of the meaning refers to the same. In the saying goes, this person is born to suffer, birth, old age, sickness and death are suffering, and love, hate, separation is also suffering.
But it doesn’t matter. If you want to avoid suffering, you just need to believe in my Buddha. Then this suffering will eventually leave you one day. Even if you die, you don’t have to be afraid. Anyway, my Buddha is compassionate. After death, you can be saved to the Pure Land to enjoy happiness.
Even as long as you believe firmly and sincerely enough, you may directly achieve the right result and become a Buddha. Even if you cannot become a Buddha, you can become a Bodhisattva or an Arhat. If it really doesn't work, you can also be reborn as a god in the six realms of reincarnation to enjoy blessings, etc.
With the setting of the six realms of reincarnation, it doesn’t matter even if you do many evil things during your lifetime. As long as you believe in my Buddha, even if you become an animal in the next life, you can have the opportunity to return to the embrace of my Buddha, in the next life, in the next life, in the next life, in the next life, in the next life.
In short, no matter whether you believe in Buddhism or not, individuals must continue to reincarnate in these six realms. This gives people a psychological comfort invisibly, and makes people feel that Buddhism is indeed very compassionate. It would be strange if it doesn’t flourish under this situation.
Compared with this, Taoist beliefs are obviously much more complicated. Various factions, systems, and especially the lineage of immortals who pursue transcendence are too "separate from the masses". After all, in the years when they can't even eat enough, who would still want to cultivate immortals?
The only shortcut is to take the believers directly to take the outer pill, which is the "magical little medicine blade" that has been verified before. After taking it, you can live a hundred years of life, but now this path has been cut off by Li Anran.
Moreover, when the monks and monks in Buddhism like to take advantage of the opportunity of traveling among the people to gain reputation for their own sects when they are fine. But Taoists are more likely to live in seclusion in the mountains and fields and practice their own Taoism. When comparing the two aspects, it is clear which one is better or worse.
In fact, with the various magical features shown by Li Anran, especially in order to rescue disasters, in those places where locust plagues were flooded, it was not too difficult to restore the decline of the Dao Sect lineage.
You only need to become the image spokesperson of the Taoist sect of the Tang Dynasty, hold several large-scale Taoist events, and show various magical means at the scene. At that time, the problems caused by elixirs will naturally be solved.
But considering the risks of the dispute over Buddhism and Taoism, and Li Anran is unwilling to break the leisurely living environment at present, so after pondering for a long time, he said: "Fellow Daoist Yuan, the secrets of heaven cannot be revealed, but I have a book here that you can read."
"I wonder what book this is?" Seeing that the decline of Taoist sect was the will of heaven, he turned his face and asked himself to read the book. After a moment of stunned sect, Yuan Tiangang immediately understood that this book must have a lot to do with what he said just now.
"Please wait for a moment, and I'll go." Li Anran, who already had a perfect plan in his heart, did not rush to reveal his mystery, but stood up and bowed Taoism and said.
"Please give me a gift." The more I thought about it, the more I felt that the other party was not talking about it, because it was probably because it was afraid of the disaster brought about by the secret of heaven. This book should be able to unravel the truth that the decline of the Taoist sect was the will of heaven. Yuan Tiangang pressed the excitement in his heart and returned the courtesy.
Just when Li Anran returned to the study room of the inner courtyard, opened his computer and called out a novel and typed out the content with a printer, and took the time to design a set of covers and back covers with a very Taoist charm, Yuan Tiangang and his disciples started chatting.
"Master, why does the real person say that the decline of the Taoist sect is God's will?" Li Chunfeng, who had been depressed for a lifetime and had not dared to speak out just now, saw that there was no one else in the hall, and he could not control the questions in his heart.
"I don't know." Yuan Tiangang, who was much haggard because of this disaster in Taoism, shook his head and said, "Since the real person said that, it seems that there is still some truth. What's going on? It's not too late to read that book first and then talk about it."
"Oh... that's all." Li Chunfeng wanted to say something, but when he saw the two still spitting out the cool air, the entire hall became like a magic weapon. When he rushed to his mouth, he turned into a sigh.
At this time, Li Anran was sitting in the study, watching the printer constantly spitting out fresh pages. Considering that the book is of great significance, he also specially designed the background of the pages, and each page has a Taoist charm.
After the last print was completed, Anran Li first confirmed whether there were any errors in the content and page number order, and then "sewn" the cover and back cover he had designed. Soon, an antique thread-bound book was released.
"Hehe... I wonder if this book will have a huge impact when it appears in this time and space in advance." Holding the book in his hand and looking at the four big words flowing in motion on the cover, Li Anran couldn't help but laugh.
Seeing that the book was ready, Li Anran, who really didn't want to be disturbed by the two outside, did not waste time. She took a piece of silk cloth and wrapped the book, then carried it in her hand and walked towards the front hall.
"Fellow Daoist Yuan, Fellow Daoist Li, I've been waiting for a long time." Li Anran, who appeared in the front hall with the silk bag in his hand, smiled.
"Soon, not long." The moment the other party appeared, Yuan Tiangang, whose eyes were as if he had been applied to the small silk cloth bag, stood up and returned to greet him.
"It's so good for fellow Taoists to understand that this book is a book that is widely circulated in our upper realm. The contents in it are somewhat related to the lower realm. The specific situation is so that it is actually a secret of heaven that cannot be revealed, so I can't say much."
"As for whether you can understand the real reason for the decline of Taoism from books, or even find a solution to this problem from books, it can only be based on the opportunity." Li Anran said after patting the silk cloth bag placed on the table.
Although the incident of the elixir did cause a considerable blow to Yuan Tiangang, he still understood the mystery of the words at the first time and said seriously: "I am so grateful to the real person who can do this."
"No matter whether I can understand the opportunity from this book, there will be no leakage in this matter." At this point, Yuan Tiangang turned around and said with a solemn expression: "Chunfeng, this matter is only at your and my mouth, do you understand?"
"The disciple understands." Although there were some different opinions in my heart, Li Chunfeng knew the severity of the matter at this time, and nodded fiercely and said.
"Okay, since Fellow Daoist Yuan said that, I'm relieved." Speaking of this, Li Anran solemnly picked up the small silk bread at his hand, walked forward, held it in both hands and handed it over, but said, "Let's go slowly and don't send it."
Yuan Tiangang didn't care about this behavior of rushing the guests out directly at this time. He carefully took the silk cloth bag hand and stuffed it directly into his arms. After bowing, he directly took his apprentice Li Chunfeng and flashed.
After the two returned to the carriage when they arrived, Yuan Tiangang took out the silk cloth bag under the close care of his disciples and opened it. The next moment, an antique book appeared in the sight of the two people, and the cover of the book contained four big words:
