fifty-nine four lessons

The old man claims to be a master, so naturally he has some literati's temperament, hard bones and bad tempers. Therefore, Yan Zhenqing's iron-blooded and true man's calligraphy is particularly consistent with the old man's temper. The old man also wants to make Suning a kind of iron-blooded man, dare to face the drizzling blood, dare to face the bleak life, and dare to face the unreasonable, inhuman and undemocratic old man, so an excellent calligraphy is an inevitable product.

The old man's brushwork is strong and powerful, with a plump and vigorous momentum, broad and magnificent structure, vigorous and magnificent bones, which are the products obtained by later generations after countless additions to Yan Zhenqing's brushwork. This is exactly the case with the so-called master. Therefore, Suning's calligraphy is far from the gentleness and beauty of the early Tang Dynasty, as if the current brushwork is like a shy and beautiful lady dancing, while Suning's calligraphy is a true man who is roaming with a sword.

His Majesty Li Er, who grew up in the army, was instantly attracted by the calligraphy of this kind of iron-blooded man, so that he forgot to read the main text and just focused on reading the calligraphy. While reading, he wrote and painted with his hand. For a moment, His Majesty Li Er and Kong Yingda seemed to have forgotten their main business and began to do their jobs. Kong Yingda took a picture of Suning's words and copied them. His Majesty Li Er picked up his pen and started copying them...

"This calligraphy is powerful and magnificent, and it is absolutely uncommon for people to write. It has no relative mood and moral character. Even if it can be written, it is similar in shape but not in spirit. The most important thing about this calligraphy is energy and spirit. The words on the paper are the second element. The old minister claims to be far from that. Your Majesty, Suning is definitely not an object in the pool! It's just a pity that his master must be a peerless master, a pity! It's a pity!" About half an hour later, Kong Yingda put down his pen and looked at the three pieces of rice paper that he could never write again, and sighed.

His Majesty Li Er also put down his pen, held a piece of rice paper full of words, and compared it with the words written by Suning. The result was very unhappy, but he had to accept it. Calligraphy was not something you can practice in one day. Hearing Kong Yingda's sigh, His Majesty Li Er nodded with great gains: "I never knew in the past that this man actually wrote such a vigorous and powerful calligraphy, which is completely different from the current calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty. This is the first time I have seen such regular script. Kong Aiqing, this calligraphy is a perfect artistic conception compared to the calligraphy of you and me!"

Kong Yingda smiled and said, "I'm not just thinking about these things. Your Majesty. Do you know that in class today, this student taught me one lesson to me. No, I taught two lessons. Including this calligraphy class, it must be the third lesson. Each lesson shocked the old minister, as if he was enlightened. As soon as he entered the school, he taught the teacher three lessons. When his master wrote history, he must record this matter and pass it on to future generations, hahaha!"

Li Er came down and became interested: "It is great to have such an elegant atmosphere. But what two other lessons are there besides this calligraphy class? This incident made me wonder. You quickly inform me that there are only a handful of people who can teach you in my Tang Dynasty! What's more, that boy?"

When talking about cultural matters and his strengths, Kong Yingda automatically started the mode of preaching for old students. At this moment, there was no one except the students. His age and identity were enough to be the teacher of His Majesty Li Er. His Majesty Li Er also respected him very much, so he did not think there was anything wrong.

"This first lesson is education. The old minister asked Sanming what he learned with his master, how his master taught Sanming. He wanted to understand what Sanming learned and what he learned. It would be convenient for the old minister to teach Sanming later. However, he heard Sanming say that his master had never taught him to read books, and he had hardly read classic books, and even had not read enlightenment books. I was very puzzled, how could a generation of masters act like this? If this is true, wouldn't it be a misleading child?

Sanming said that his master led him to teach all the way, and what he said was what they saw and heard along the way. For example, when he saw someone stealing other people's belongings and was arrested, his master would first ask Sanming what was going on, why it happened, and how to solve it; when he saw someone fighting, he would ask why people argued, fight, where is the root of the problem, and how to solve it.

When it rains, it will ask why it rains. When it snows, it will ask why it snows. When it droughts, it will ask why it droughts. People have no harvests, and they will ask why it has no harvests. Moreover, his master rarely gives him some clear answers, because there are not so many standard answers in the world. All questions change constantly with the passage of time. The questions are changing, and the answers are also changing. Nothing is unchanged.

In this way, his master took Sanming to see all kinds of things in this world, explain all kinds of truths, and said that the greatest knowledge in the world is in the world. After seeing through the world, all the truths will be understood. At that time, reading was actually to cultivate one's body and cultivate one's nature and happiness, and it has nothing to do with real knowledge, because the knowledge in books is also what our ancestors saw, heard, thought, thought, and gained, and the problems and solutions thousands of years ago have long been changed beyond recognition. If it were just the principles in reading, then it would never solve any practical problems.

Your Majesty, the old minister is the direct descendant of Confucius. He has been familiar with various classics since childhood. He thinks that he is well-educated and can teach and answer questions. But today I realize how big a mistake I have made! I have always been stuck in the footsteps of my ancestors, never thought of taking my own steps and adding a hint of brightness to the glory of my ancestors, but I have never dared to make any changes. I even think that making some changes is disrespectful to my ancestors and a great disrespectful thing, but I cannot help but be self-confidence!

Sanming said that this is the biggest confusion I have been reading for decades. After hearing this, the old minister seemed to be enlightened. Almost in that moment, the old minister's troubles no longer existed! The ancients said that reading a book a hundred times will reveal its meaning. The old minister reads a book for decades, more than a hundred times? But the old minister failed to read the book, and this son had never read it, but he understood these principles.

Your Majesty, as Master Sanming said, the questions are changing, and the answers are changing. Nothing is unchanging. The greatest knowledge in the world is not in books, but in the world, in the world. After seeing through the world, you will also see through the greatest truth. This is enough for this life. The old minister understands this truth, and this is the first lesson."

After Kong Yingda finished his long discussion, His Majesty Li Er was like Kong Yingda, and his mind was shocked. He was not surprised how Suning learned, because His Majesty Li Er himself grew up in constant battles on the battlefield. If there were no troubled times in the late Sui Dynasty, there would not be Li Shimin today. There would be one Emperor Taizong of Tang, another playboy family, no magnificent Tang Dynasty, only countless romantic figures.

From this perspective, His Majesty Li Er suddenly discovered that Suning followed his master to see the world, and he also led a million troops to gallop across the world, fighting countless enemies in life and death, honing and growing in the war, and on the verge of death several times. This method of education is very hard, extremely dangerous, but the results are very obvious; two people become emperors themselves, and what will the other one be in the future?

What His Majesty Li Er cares more about is that saying, nothing is unchanging, times are changing, and problems are changing. Isn’t it a fallacy to use the ancients’ statement to explain today’s things? Aren’t all the previous actions fallen? And this truth was accepted by Kong Yingda, the direct descendant of Confucius. His Majesty Li Er knew the status of Kong Yingda in the hearts of the scholars of the world. So, His Majesty Li Er felt a little bit of movement in his heart and began to feel restless. An idea that had sprouted a long time ago broke the soil of his soul and emitted a strange brilliance...

"I deeply agree with what I said. Suning is indeed a master. No matter how talented a child is, he will never be able to understand such a great truth. It must be the result of generations. Although I cannot meet that master, Suning has learned a lot and will be used by me in the Tang Dynasty. That's enough. So what do you think of Suning, what is your teaching?" His Majesty Li Er sorted out his thoughts and began to pay attention to Suning. This is the most important thing.

Kong Yingda said: "This is also related to the second lesson. Your Majesty, what Suning learned is compared with what I taught in the Tang Dynasty. What we teach is the relics of our ancestors, and what we thought and gained by the sages a thousand years ago. It may still be of great use today, but blindly applying it is not good. Suning has already broken out of this application. There is no need for the old minister to pull him back. That is to harm him and the Tang Dynasty.

The old minister thought that what he needed was only some guidance in dealing with people and affairs. After all, he was young and had a more mature mind than his peers, but he still had a young nature. This was the only place where the old minister could guide him. In addition, Your Majesty, the old minister was powerless, or Your Majesty and the Queen had something to teach Sanming, but the old minister had nothing to teach. However, the old minister also thought about whether he could try it. He also used this method to set an example for other students, and his ancestors were role models for generations. The old minister was naturally far from that, but the old minister also thought about recreating the glory of his ancestors."

His Majesty Li Er nodded: "I am a knowledgeable scholar. What I love, of course I believe that if all the students of the Tang Dynasty can be used out of the way. Haha, I love you, it's more than just the merits of the masters of all ages? I love you, I want to ask you."

Kong Yingda bowed again: "I will never let down Your Majesty's high hopes!"

His Majesty Li Er smiled and helped him: "You don't have to be too polite, so you, what is this second lesson?"

Kong Yingda said: "Your Majesty also asks you to read carefully what Sanming wrote. Your Majesty and the old minister were attracted by this son's calligraphy. The old minister also forgot what the old minister came here for. Sanming presented the pinyin reading method created by his master for decades. This is the specific content."

"How to read the letters in pinyin?" His Majesty Li Er really didn't pay attention to what the ten pieces of rice paper were written, so he picked up the paper and started reading.

The Chinese language in the Sui and Tang dynasties was born from ancient Chinese and was called medieval Chinese. Its pronunciation is quite different from modern Chinese and modern Chinese. Since there were no auxiliary phonetic symbols like pinyin in ancient times, the premise of literacy is to recognize literacy, and the tangent pronunciation method of two characters is the most important basis for studying medieval Chinese. The most important basis for studying medieval Chinese is "Qiyun" compiled by Lu Fayan, followed by "Guangyun" from the Song Dynasty.

Middle Chinese has a great difference compared to modern Chinese and modern Chinese. Moreover, since there was no recording equipment in the Middle Ages, and Chinese characters were not alphabetical characters and could not strictly record pronunciations, it was a lot different. Many characteristics of modern Chinese have been laid in Middle Chinese, such as one word and one pronunciation, no consonant clusters that may exist in ancient Chinese, tone that have the function of distinguishing meaning, etc.

Suning naturally considered these issues, so he was so cautious. It took a long time for Baidu to have these problems on Baidu. For this reason, he also discovered the most important rhymes of medieval Chinese, such as teeth sound, tongue sound, lips sound, teeth sound, guttural sound, half tongue, half teeth, etc. These were the basis for the emergence of Tang poetry and Song lyrics later. Suning didn't know if he really promoted the pinyin of modern Chinese to ancient times, would it have an impact on the generation of Tang poetry and Song lyrics, especially when the poets and saints were not born, would Chinese pinyin impact the rhymes of medieval Chinese? This made the national treasures such as Tang poetry and Song lyrics disappear?

This is also the concerns that Suning wrote on the last two sheets of paper. Of course, Suning will not talk about future events, and will not talk about Li Bai and Du Fu at this time. Instead, he compared the poems that are already available and explained his concerns to His Majesty Li Er. If he lost the thirty-six rhymes of ancient Chinese, will there still be Tang and Song lyrics? Just like in the present, how many people can make perfect poetry in format?

After a long time, His Majesty Li Er raised his head, rubbed his sore eyes, and smiled at Kong Yingda, who was still copying it, saying, "Not to mention that the pinyin pronunciation is beneficial to the country and the people, even this calligraphy makes me reluctant to look away. If every minister can have such a brushstroke, then I will not feel tired when I handle the memorials. Every time I review the memorials, it will be a calligraphy appreciation, so how happy!

My dear, I have a preliminary understanding of the pinyin method. Compared with the two-character tangent method we used in the past, it seems that it is really much more accurate. As long as we learn this pinyin, a three-year-old child can read! And this accent, my dear, what do you think? According to this pinyin, the accent spoken is different from what we are using now, but fortunately, as long as we can read characters in pinyin, wouldn’t this accent come naturally?”

Kong Yingda nodded and said, "Your Majesty said very well. Just as Sanming said, this accent problem has always troubled people in different regions. People in Guanzhong dialect and Shuzhong cannot understand, people in Shandong dialect and Guanzhong, and people in Hebei dialect and Shandong dialect, so the old minister thinks that Sanming's suggestions are very necessary, and the old minister also has experience it. Once a friend from Guanzhong went to Shuzhong, he has not seen each other for more than 20 years. When we first met, we couldn't understand what the other party was saying.

Moreover, the voice suggested by Sanming is closely related to the method of reading characters in pinyin. Basically, after learning the method of reading characters in pinyin, this voice will be done with the flow. There is no need to learn deliberately, but it can be heard comfortably and clearly. People from different regions no longer have to worry about not being able to understand the words said by the other party. Although this may be something that can only be done in decades, it is a contribution for generations."

His Majesty Li Er nodded and said, "I think so too, it's true. The voice problem is very troublesome. If it can be solved, even let all children learn to read and read, what a great merit! I was moved, but my dear, Suning means, it shouldn't be that you tell me about the pinyin reading method at this time?"

Kong Yingda was stunned and then asked, "This is true. Sanming told the old minister that the experiment should be conducted in the Hongwenguan to see how the situation is, and accumulate certain experience, and prove that the method of reading characters in pinyin is indeed better than the method of tangential two characters. At that time, report the results of Your Majesty's inspection, give out enough results to convince people, and then promote it. This matter must be fully implemented, otherwise, everyone in the world will read the jokes of the court; this is indeed the old minister who has made a rash move, but how does Your Majesty know?"

His Majesty Li Er smiled and picked up two pieces of rice paper and handed them to Kong Yingda: "Look, eight of these ten pieces of rice paper are about the pronunciation of pinyin. The last two are specifically reminded me not to be too hasty, not to promulgate the world immediately, but to test first, to prove that this method is indeed better than others, and then promote it. Doing things should be done, thinking twice before doing it, and experimenting first is more important.

This kid also expressed his concern. It is indeed extremely easy to read the pinyin. As long as you understand it, you can read it and develop a unified accent. However, the rhymes are very different and too simplified. It may have a difficult impact on the cultural rhyme problem. Now we can still familiarize ourselves with rhymes, and it will not be difficult to write poems. However, if everyone learns the pinyin method to read the rhymes in the future, no one knows the rhymes. The rhymes, the rhymes, aren't it lost to the rhymes? I think a lot, I must pay attention to this point. The pinyin method is simple, but this issue cannot be ignored!

He also said that Mr. Kong is concerned about the people of the world and takes it as his responsibility to educate the people. This method has great benefits to the country and the people. After learning about it, Mr. Kong will tell me this method immediately, and count a series of benefits to him and strongly support this method. But I must not agree now, but look at the results. The court's policies are a move that affects the whole body, and are the expectations of the people of the world. Be careful. My dear, you said that young people are aggressive, but this young man seems to be more calm than my dear!"

His Majesty Li Er's joke made Kong Yingda stunned at first. After reading what Suning wrote, he shook his head and smiled bitterly: "The old minister is guilty, the old minister is wrong. He has lived for more than fifty years. Today, he gave a child with a yellow mouth four lessons one day! He was right. Your Majesty, this matter is a big matter. You must not be impatient or aggressive. Otherwise, not only people in the world will take the opportunity to attack the court, but those who are ill-hearted will also take the opportunity to attack, which will also cause unimaginable problems.

You also ask Your Majesty to authorize the old minister to preside over the research and promotion of pinyin pronunciation. The old minister will walk slowly step by step, and will never give those who are ill-behaved. As Suning said, this matter is related to cultural heritage and is crucial; it is more important to think twice before taking action, and experimenting first."

His Majesty Li Er nodded: "It's good, Kong Aiqing, you go back first, and from tomorrow, you will convene the bachelor's degree in Hongwenguan to study and mark the pinyin reading method first, and compare the 206 rhymes. After the compilation, I will use my children and heroes as the first batch of teachers in Hongwenguan. I will teach them in the shortest time, so that they can speak this kind of voice, and can understand how to read in pinyin, and do not ignore the 206 rhymes, and record all the key points in detail and accumulate experience. My dear, this matter is a major event and must not be omitted."

Kong Yingda bowed to the ground: "Your Majesty is wise! The old minister obeys the order!"

Watching Kong Yingda leave, His Majesty Li Er turned his gaze to the rice paper in his hand. Looking at the handsome brushstrokes, a smug smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. He didn't know how much surprise this kid could bring to him, but now one after another, this kid also deeply understands the way to advance and retreat. It seems that he also understands the principle that if you are full, you will lose. Good boy, I want to see how you can go.

I don’t think I am stupid, and I also have a lot of talents. There are many talents in the court and there are many powerful generals in the army. With this kid, why not explore where that dream is? If I do it, I will definitely be in the position of the emperor of the ages. So what about the Qin Emperor and Han Wu? I, Li Shimin, will always be in the position of the saint king! Who can shake it?!

His Majesty Li Er clenched his hands tightly into his fists and made a great oath!
