Chapter 9: Harvest Season
(I'm sorry, my mother is sick and just came back. After the modification is completed, it will be uploaded immediately.)
The weather in August has passed in a hurry with busyness and expectation. The free-range eels have become accustomed to life in the pond through the improvement of primary nutrient solution. Whenever they are fed, groups of eels swam from everywhere to the food plate, competing for the food in the food plate. In the young eel pond, the small eels that were able to live with gauze nets had risen to more than ten centimeters long by Yang Tian's careful feeding, and now they can be raised in different ponds. Especially the pair of dragon eels, after laying eggs, Xiaobao extracted the genes of the dragon eels. Through research, it was found that the dragon eels mainly rely on the smell to distinguish the distances and distances of similar caves, so Yang Tian found his father and built many small ponds one meter long and fifty centimeter wide beside the eel pond.
During this period, people from the village came to Yangtian's pond to see how the eels grew. Whenever an eel swam out of the water, they smiled, as if the eels in the pond were raised by their own homes.
September is a season of harvest. There is an ancient saying that there is no grain in the first ten days of autumn, and the fields are full of yellow on the ten days after autumn. The beginning of autumn is also called Jiaoqiu. Rice will fully mature around ten days of the beginning of autumn, so at this time, the creaking sound of threshing gathers on all sides, becoming a symphony of harvest.
Tn is located at the junction of the SSC Plain, where there are plains and hills. Yang Tian’s home is in the hilly area. Whenever it is time to thresh, people take sickles, straw hats, and carry water bottles to their own rice fields, preparing to harvest hope.
Autumn is busy and golden. Standing on the hillside and looking into the distance, the golden rice ears connect the heaven and earth, endless. From time to time, birds fly out of the rice fields, and the bright cries are mixed with the cicadas, gathering into a harvest music.
There is a custom in rural areas that whenever the rice turns yellow, people will cut a few nests of mature rice, dry it, and then shell it out in ancient hand-made ways to make new rice. Then stir-fry two good dishes, light incense and candles, and respect the Bodhisattva of Heaven and Earth. Pray for good weather and good harvests in the coming year.
There was a legend in ancient times that there were no rice fields or houses on the ground, only a large wild forest. There were wild beasts wandering everywhere, and humans relied on picking wild fruits and catching wild animals to fill their stomachs. One day, the sky was raining like a hole, and it rained heavily day and night, and an unprecedented flood occurred on the ground. After a long time, the flood gradually receded. At this time, many small animals that humans usually preyed on drowned, and the fruits on the trees were soaked. There were fewer and fewer foods to eat. Many people were eaten by other animals in order to catch small animals. Everyone sat at the entrance of the cave all day long and were worried, and they were hungry, but they couldn't think of any good idea.
On an island in the vast sea in the east, there are many gods living. They are very sympathetic to watching humans work hard to find food and be attacked by wild animals. One day, the gods on the island gathered together for a meeting. The Jade Emperor touched his shiny white beard and said slowly: "Since the flood has passed, people on the ground have lived a very difficult life. Let's find a way to help them!"
Shennong, who is in charge of planting the five squids, said: "Well, I want to teach humans that the best way to plant rice. Rice will grow and grow grains every year. As long as humans work hard, they will have rice to eat, and there is no need to fight with wild animals."
Everyone agreed with this method very much. Fuxi, who was standing by, said loudly: "If we send more assistants to the world, wouldn't their lives be better?" Everyone thought Fuxi's proposal was also very good, and they applauded. The result of the meeting was to send six animals, horses, cows, sheep, chickens, dogs, and pigs, to help humans. Cattle and horses are the most bitter tolerant to help humans plow the fields and pull carts. The rich nutrition of goat milk can supplement humans' nutrition. Chicken will wake everyone up with hard work every morning, and dogs will watch the house. As for pigs, although they can only eat and sleep, their meat can be used as food for people!
After the Jade Emperor assigned his work, he suddenly thought of the most important thing... How can rice be sent to the human world? From here to the human world, you have to pass through a vast ocean! It turns out that the rice grew densely on a rice stalk from beginning to end, and mature rice could easily fall off the rice stalk, so if you want to bring rice to the human world, you must send the rice to the human world. It seems that transporting rice across the sea to the human world is a very difficult task! The Jade Emperor gently asked whoever would like to complete this task with the six animals?
The first five kinds of people politely declined this task for various reasons, and in the end there was only one gray puppy left without saying a word. When it thought of the sad face of human beings, its heart softened and admitted that it would do the job of transporting rice. When the Jade Emperor heard that the puppy was willing to take on this task, he was very happy and said: "It was originally planned that the rice was not more than a hundred grains, but now it is transported by you. I will make an exception to change the law. How much rice you carry on you, and how many millets can be produced on the rice stalks in the future, so you must be careful."
This strange team finally set off. They swim in the sea, and the waves rise and fall like hills. Dogs were swimming experts. But he had to take care of the rice on his body and try not to let these precious grains fall into the sea. So he tried to jump through one wave after another in the sea and was busy. Swim, swim, and see other animals coming to the world. "Ah! Oh, the more millet you have fallen on your body."
The dog turned his head and shouted. It was originally that most of the millet on his body had been washed away by the sea water, but when he thought of the Jade Emperor's instructions, he tried his best to arch his body high. Although every bone was almost broken, the rice grains were still floating away one by one, and in the end there were only a few squids on the upper end of his tail. In any case, he must keep the millet on the upper end of his tail. While thinking, the dog stretched his tail high and straight. He stretched his tail hard along the way, and couldn't help but stretch out his red tongue and gasped. Although his tail was so sour that it seemed to be broken, he didn't dare to relax at all.
Finally, we were about to reach the world. Several friends were already on the shore and waited for a long time. The dizzy gray dog swam ashore and completed the task, handing over the grains on the upper tail to humans. The people on the ground finally had rice, but because the dog only sent rice on the top of the tail, the rice on the ground only grew grains on the top of the rice poles.
Therefore, when people respect the Bodhisattva of Heaven and Earth, they cannot eat. They should put the wine, vegetables and rice that respect the Bodhisattva of Heaven and Earth in different categories in front of the dog. If the dog eats first, it means that the rice will be expensive next year. If the dog eats meat first, then meat will be expensive. Ancient legends and ancient rituals each reveal the simplicity of the farmers and embellish the joy of harvesting autumn.
Before dawn in the morning, Yang's mother got up to cook and feed the pigs, preparing what she needed to thresh.
"Dong, dun, dun"
Early in the morning, Yang Tian rubbed his misty eyes and walked towards the door, "Who is it?"
"I'm still sleeping? Why don't I get up quickly? Your uncle and others have come to help, but you can still sleep?" Yang's father stood in front of the newly built fish guard shed and said, smoking.
"Help? Didn't we fight ourselves today?"
"Your uncle and others said that their millet is still one or two days away. You are raising eels now. You have to guard the pond on such a hot day. Yesterday, I asked me when I would thresh, and I said casually, "They are here today."
"Oh, that's OK! Dad, go back. I don't have much trouble here, but the weather is a little hot. I'll store more water in the pond for five centimeters. When I go back to help you, you know that that one or two hundred kilograms of hairy grain is as simple as eating for me."
The village is a big family, and it is common for you to help me and I help you. Since Yang Tian raised eels, many relatives and friends have come to help with farm work. They are not very careful. They just want Yang Tian to bring his family to earn more money after he made a name for himself.
"You kid, you won't do it if you don't want to go. Then don't wait. Open the valve of the reservoir and come over. Just ask your mother to come and close it later. Anyway, there is a scale on each pond, which is not a big deal. Let's go out early, and it won't be able to resist it at noon." After saying that, Yang's father threw two packs of five yuan good cigarettes for Yang Tian. The meaning is very simple. Your eldest young man is also a fish farmer. Don't smoke a 2-5-yuan Hongshou like our old man.
Yang Tian looked at the cigarette in his hand, looked at the Hongsheng cigarette box in front of the bed, and used his hand to pick his head, laughed and said, "Hehe!"
In hilly areas, you cannot use a harvester, you can only complete the harvesting work through a threshing machine with your feet. The threshing machine crunches when you step on it. The smaller the sound, the better the rice is. You can tell whether the rice is good or not by listening to the sound of the threshing machine.
"Youngest, Xiaotian's hand is extremely powerful. Look at the more than 200 kilograms of Maogu, it feels like he is playing." The mixing bucket was full, and several big men who threshed millet were drinking tea and smoking to rest. When they saw that Yang Tian's posture was not a burden, the relaxed face was even less burdened.
"I don't know how much hard this hairy child has come. That time I collected morning cucumber and I were shocked." Someone praised his son, and Yang Yi was naturally happy. Seeing that his son had been carrying so long, a few pieces of sweat were flowing on his face. If this were a group, he would be too much.
"Haha, you are enjoying your life now. My eldest son is working outside. I heard that he will bring his wife back this year. My second son is doing breeding again. I went to see it a few days ago. Good guys' eels are the same every day. If this continues, I guess they can be sold for the New Year this year."
"Hey, that's what it means to enjoy. My eldest son is almost thirty years old, and I'm just coming back with my wife now. If everyone else has reported to my grandson, the second son is still old and the house has not been repaired yet, so it's still too early to enjoy happiness!"
