Chapter 7 The Mysterious Canyon

"What day is today? The Undead Riot? Or have a party together..."

Seeing this scene, Lance couldn't help but feel cold behind his back. He hurried back to the house and ran out with a large bag of silver crosses.

These cross piles are very heavy to buy. Lance guessed that these things should be silver-plated, perhaps with a lot of lead or other metals mixed in them.

Following the instructions of the Gray-robed wizard before leaving, Lance rushed to the nearest grave.

The white bone skeleton in the grave had already emerged halfway. It raised its shriveled head. Who knew that with a bang, the skeleton's head fell directly from its neck. It stretched out its hand and touched it in a mess, trying to find its own head.

Lance calmed down and kicked the skeleton's head back to it. Then he held up a cross stake and inserted it hard in front of the tombstone.

As soon as the silver cross stake was inserted into the soil by Lance, it slowly dissolved under the influence of a mysterious force and poured into the soil.

A faint silver light flashed through the reddish-brown mud in an instant. The silver light moved along the soil and finally climbed onto the skeleton. The skeleton's hand bone and skull were immediately stamped with a silver cross mark by the silver light.

Soon, the skeleton stopped moving, but slowly sank.

Lance wiped his sweat and let out a long breath. The gray-robed mage did not deceive him. The silver cross stake could indeed suppress these white bones.

He looked around and saw that within a few miles, at least one-third of the tombs began to tremble faintly, and a large number of white bones and skeletons were drilling out of the tomb. Some of them were sensitive and had already crawled out.

Fortunately, although these skeletons look terrifying, their actual combat capabilities are almost zero. They are completely different from the skeleton soldiers or even skeleton mages controlled by the necromancer.

Lance began to suppress the crowd with a bunch of cross poles. He ran from this grave to the front of another grave and smashed the cross poles one by one. For the somewhat dishonest guy, Lance was not polite, but kicked them back into the grave with a straightforward kick.

According to the fox's estimate, the power of these skeletons does not exceed 0.4, and they are not Lance's opponent at all. In addition to being a little scary at the beginning, Lance's nerves became numb later.

Even if the movements of the skeletons were ferocious and terrifying, Lance was indifferent. He ran around with a bunch of cross stakes and mechanically completed his tasks like a machine on the assembly line.

This busyness lasted for the middle of the night.

By the second half of the night, Lance himself couldn't remember how many skeletons he kicked over and how many ribs he broke.

"Huh! It's finally done!"

Lance inserted the last silver cross into a desolate grave that had no tombstone, and then looked up with his waist and panting. He suppressed all the rioting skeletons in the entire cemetery.

And this tomb is already the last one.

This place is almost two miles away from his cabin, and it is already on the border of the cemetery. On the left side of Reims is a tall fence, and beyond the fence, it is completely outside the sphere of influence of Scarlet Castle.

He stood there, rested for a while, and then walked towards the iron fence.

There were some runes painted on the fences. These runes could protect the cemetery from being entered by invaders, but they had no effect on Lance. Because his identity was confirmed by the stone platform as early as when he entered, and he could enter and exit the cemetery freely. These iron fences were not obstacles to him at all.

However, he had no intention of crossing the iron fence. He had been busy for the middle of the night, which had already exhausted him both physically and mentally.

He just stood there and looked at the things outside the iron fence curiously, after all, he had never been here.

"It looks very desolate. Beyond the fence, it belongs to the wild area of Ferrondor." Lance narrowed his eyes and looked out.

In front of me is a wide small plain, and not far away, a long and ancient mountain range stands proudly. At the end of my sight, Lance can still see a canyon that opens towards this side.

There is no grass growing on the plain, just like in a cemetery, without any vitality at all.

The moonlight shines down and the night wind blows, adding a cold breath.

Lance was sweating all over, so hot that he was not infected by the cold atmosphere. He stood there and looked for a while, feeling particularly boring. He was about to turn around and leave, but at this moment, a sharp wail suddenly came from behind him!

Lance turned around suddenly, his eyes gathered in the distant canyon!

"Where did that voice come from?" Lance looked in that direction with some restlessness.

The wailing sound just now was exactly the same as the sound he heard when he was preparing to make foggy matches in the hut!

At first he thought it was a skeleton who was screaming, but later, during the suppression, he found that these skeletons could not make any sound at all.

That terrifying scream was undoubtedly not from the things in the cemetery.

"What exactly is there in that canyon?" Lance stood there and watched for a while, but for a while, no other news came out.

He was silent for a while, but turned around and left.

Although he was curious about what was in the canyon, he now had no need to take risks for these unknown things.

"As long as you don't break into the cemetery, it's not my business." Lance thought to himself that there were a large number of magic bans near the cemetery, and Lance was in it and was absolutely protected, so it was very safe.

This is also one of the reasons why he chose to guard the cemetery as a part-time job.

...

In the next few nights, nothing happened in the cemetery, and Lance didn't have to run around all night. Except for the day when he went to the logistics department in the castle to add a silver cross, he did not leave the cottage a little step away.

Immediately, the Dead Gem is ignored. You only need to input magic power regularly every day. Mist matches are also magic items that save time and effort. After Lance completed the preliminary processing, he only needs to wait for a while to air dry and form.

He distributed more time and energy to the deconstruction and memory of spells. Even his daily meditation time was compressed by him as much as possible. Because he knew that even if he continued to meditate, his magic level would be difficult to improve - the spell factor in the cemetery was very dull, and more were impurities mixed with the breath of the dead. In other words, it was actually very unsuitable for meditation.

This is why most people are not interested in accepting this task. Lance himself was very open-minded. Anyway, his meditation quality was not high. Before he studied that special spell factor, he decided to use potions as his main means to improve his magic power.

What is more frustrating is that over the days, Rals also made some comparisons between the Arcane Ring and the Mysterious Little Bottle, and found that the two had no similarities except spell factors of the same nature. Lance tried to absorb the spell factors around the mysterious little bottle, but unexpectedly, the little bottle had a very strong attraction to these spell factors. Lance put all his efforts and it was difficult for him to grab even a trace of spell factors from the little bottle.

After trying a few times, he had to give up temporarily. He also tried to check the information in the apprentice library several times, but he never got any relevant records. The main reason is that the information about rare spell factors requires high authority. As a self-funded student, Lance is unable to check such high-level information for the time being.

Unless he asks Caterina to help check it out, but once he does this, it is likely to arouse Caterina's suspicion. In Lance's heart, he will never go to Caterina unless he has to. He hopes to keep his secrets as much as possible in front of Caterina.

"Maybe you can try it with Regis. After all, he is a master of pharmacy and must have a lot of things he knows."
