Chapter 613: Xuanzang Returns to Da Ci'en Temple(1/2)

The next morning, Chen Zhengtai hurried to Tai Chi Palace.

First, I met with Li Chengqian at the entrance of the palace.

Li Chengqian didn't look at all nervous, but instead looked indifferent, and he was obviously used to being scolded.

He was surprised at Chen Zhengtai's performance, because Chen Zhengtai actually donated 999 articles this time, which is really not Chen Zhengtai's style.

When Chen Zhengtai saw Li Chengqian, he showed a bitter face: "Your Highness, you have hurt me."

Li Chengqian gave Chen Zhengtai a look: "What do you have to do with me? Don't blame others. What's more, a real man dares to act and be afraid of what he is afraid of? The sky falls, and there is still a tall one to hold on."

I have to say that Chen Zhengtai admires Lee Seung-chan's temperament very much, and it is obvious that Lee Seung-chan is taller.

So Chen Zhengtai smiled and said, "It's reasonable, but what should I say when I see His Majesty later?"

Li Chengqian said, "Just say we have sent people to rescue Xuanzang! What's the ability to donate money? The soldiers and civilians in the world cry until the night is clear and until the night is clear. Can Xuanzang cry back to Chang'an?"

Chen Zhengtai thought something, then nodded and said, "I just don't know if there is any news over there. It's been half a year since Chen Zhenglei is a very reliable person."

Li Chengqian smiled bitterly and said, "At that time, you were as sure as you were, but Gu was not optimistic! There were too few people and too hasty. Gu actually believed you and came up with this bad plan. But... Since the matter has been done, then don't think about it."

While they were talking, the two had already arrived outside the Tai Chi Hall. It was obvious that the Tai Chi Hall was in a court meeting. Li Shimin was not in a hurry to see them at this time, nor was he willing to let them participate in the court meeting. Therefore, they were only allowed to wait outside the hall.

So the two had to stand, look at the sky, and sigh.

At this time, Li Chengqian said: "I heard that your Chen family is going to exchange for new money. What's going on?"

This matter has actually blown by the wind. Chen Zhengtai said: "The original intention of replacing new banknotes is to prevent counterfeiting. The previous IOU can no longer adapt to the needs of anti-counterfeiting. The so-called Taoism is one foot higher than the demon is one foot higher. After a few years, it is natural to replace new banknotes with old IOUs. Of course... this new banknote is also to prepare for the future of the Tang Dynasty's treasure banknotes to be promoted to the world."

"To the world?" Li Chengqian said: "Don't all the Jiuzhou in the world use this?"

Chen Zhengtai said: "What I mean by the world is not the world of the nine provinces, but within the four seas."

Li Chengqian's eyes lit up, and he suddenly became interested, and he couldn't help but say, "I didn't expect you to have such ambition! Oh, I understand, you sent someone to save people and go to the Great Cannibal... Is it just for this?"

Unexpectedly, Li Chengqian could learn from it and the truth was the case, which made Chen Zhengtai unexpected.

Chen Zhengtai wanted to deny it, but Li Chengqian said: "This makes sense. If there is no deterrence, how could someone accept this new money? Alas... I miscalculated it, and it will be of great benefit to you after all."

Chen Zhengtai simply stopped hiding it, and said with a smile: "Your Highness, then we can play together with a big ticket, and we will definitely make a lot of money."

"Is that true?" Li Chengqian raised his eyebrows, then looked around, then mysteriously approached Chen Zhengtai's ears, lowered his voice and said, "It's just... you have to be secretive and unprotected. Don't let your father know."

Chen Zhengtai suddenly became concerned and nodded immediately.

…………

Xuanzang was almost whipped by Chen Zhenglei and others, and rushed all the way to Hexi.

Looking at everything here, Xuanzang could hardly believe his eyes.

I remember when I was traveling west, it was still a barren land, but how long has it been...

At this time...there is a huge city in the entire Hexi area, with dozens of stations along the way. In addition, there are countless fertile fields that have been reclaimed.

He subconsciously searched with his eyes, trying to find out buildings such as temples.

But soon, he was disappointed.

Here... there are very few temples.

There are many Confucian temples and martial temples. It can be seen that Confucianism has taken root here. Compared with the popular Buddhists in the Pass, it seems that there is no fear of Buddha here.

Even if there are some small temples occasionally, they are not large in scale.

You know, Buddhism was spread from the Western Regions and passed through Hexi along the way. When Hexi was sparsely populated, you could always see huge temples.

But now... there seems to be few people maintaining these temples, only broken walls and ruins are left.

Xuanzang couldn't help feeling lost.

Then, he boarded the train. The train station was filled with people, and the feet were everywhere for transporting goods, and the passengers were about to run. It felt like they were stuffed into the carriage. It was not very pleasant.

These pedestrians did not show too much humility because of Xuanzang's identity as a monk.

In the eyes of monks like Xuanzang, such a place is somewhat like a place beyond the reach.

No one here fears the gods and Buddhas, and no one will treat monks any kind of courtesy.

People seem to be indifferent to things around them.

In every carriage, there are places that specialize in selling newspapers, including the latest Sihai Daily, earlier news newspapers, and some strange tabloids.

People sitting in the car will get used to spending a little money to get a newspaper, then sit in the carriage with their legs raised and read the newspaper.

And Chen Zhenglei, who was walking with Xuanzang, was like this.

Xuanzang just lowered his eyebrows and recited the scriptures silently.

The person sitting with Xuanzang was Chen Aixiang. Chen Aixiang was like a wanderer returning home. He looked at all the changes with joy, and his eyes were slightly red.

On the one hand, he was about to go home, and on the other hand, he was delighted to find that Hexi was much more prosperous than when he left. This was... the Chen family's Tang Dynasty.

Because it is a long-distance train, it has to pass through Shuofang and then arrives in Chang'an.

So when meals are prepared in the carriage, of course... in this era, it is impossible to have a dining car. The meals in the car are just some dried fruits and pancakes that fill their stomachs.

Xuanzang ate some cakes. The sound of the whistle and the noise in the carriage finally disrupted his mind. He couldn't help but open his eyes and could not enter the state of formlessness. But at this moment, Chen Aixiang, who was sitting beside him, raised her legs and looked at an unknown tabloid.

In the tabloid... there were half a page of ladies' pictures. The women in the pictures were all vividly drawn, living in the beautiful girl, even the parts below her neck were also faintly visible. Chen Aixiang couldn't help but drool and tried her best to wipe the corners of her mouth with her long sleeves.

Xuanzang immediately staggered his eyes and then whispered: "Amitabha."

"Stop thinking." Chen Aixiang looked dissatisfied: "If you read it again, I will buy it in vain. Are you annoying?"

Xuanzang said, "Hey... the world is getting worse. When I was traveling, although this place was barren, there were many temples. Now... the population here is getting more and more. Why is Buddhism not popular?"

This is Xuanzang's question, and he couldn't understand it even if he wanted to break his head.

Hexi was the place where Buddhism was prosperous at the beginning, let alone other places. Even in Jiangnan, there were 680 temples in the Southern Dynasty, and many poems in the mist and rain, which shows that in that era, the popularity of Buddhism had reached its peak.

As the Hexi Corridor that exchanges the Western Regions and the Central Plains, Buddhism originally passed through this place to Hexi through the Western Regions, and then entered the Central Plains. For the Central Plains, it is not an exaggeration to say that it is the source of Buddhism!

But the facts are the opposite of what Xuanzang thought.

Chen Aixiang sneered: "Look at the people coming and going, who are not busy? Where did you get the kung fu? Go to the Buddhist temple all day long!"

Xuanzang shook his head and said thoughtfully: "No, which of the people in the world is not busy?"

This is also the truth. It is not just the busy people in Hexi. This makes no sense.

Chen Aixiang thought for a while and said, "Do you know why I don't believe in this? Because it's very simple, I have hope. I know that I'm busy and my life will improve tomorrow. I accompany you to learn scriptures, and after I come back, I can live and work in peace. By the same token, you see, the people in Hexi are much richer than those in the Central Plains. There are countless land here. As long as you are willing to reclaim wasteland, you can get countless fertile land. There are countless workshops here, and as long as you have hands and feet, you will teach you not to have hunger for the whole family. There are many schools here. After you are busy, you earn some extra money and send your children to the school, and you can count on your future children to be more promising than you are now."

"This place carries the hope of tomorrow, and live and work in peace and contentment, which can be seen and touched. Many people have this precedent, so... people are bustling, coming for profit and going for profit. Who would like to count on the cycle of reincarnation and the next life you Buddha said? Even if there are such people, it is an exception."

When Xuanzang heard this, his face turned slightly pale.

Chen Aixiang continued, "Only the Central Plains, the Tubo, the Western Regions, and the Indians, the people are like livestock. Today they cannot see tomorrow, and tomorrow they don't know what the future will be. A natural disaster will make the whole family lose their families and be pigs and dogs when they are born! The princes and nobles will have endless wealth when they are born! The people seek fullness and warmth but cannot get it, and they cannot get it if they seek shelter from the wind and rain. Don't they have to rely on the next life, and think about the cycle of reincarnation, and take out the pitiful wealth for the rest of their lives to support monks and build Buddhist temples? And the rich and nobles also hope that they can continue to be rich for generations."

"In my opinion, where is there any true scripture in the world? The so-called true scripture... is just to teach people how to create some light that does not exist for them in despair. Or to give some comfort in suffering. If we transform this Hexi into the Western Paradise, then what else do we need to do in reincarnation? Why do we need temples and monks? Your true scripture is in India, but I am different. I also have true scriptures in my heart. My true scriptures are in Hexi. Our Chen family will gain a foothold here and bring countless people here to overcome obstacles. We create a Western Paradise. This Western Paradise will be better than your monks' barren imagination."

Xuanzang was speechless.

He felt like he had karma.

For a moment, he felt restless and impatient. He looked at a person in the carriage, surrounded by the carriage, looking out the glass window, along the railway line, the ridges in the distance, the rivers and cultivated land in the nearest place. He saw the deeds built along the station.

He finally shook his head and said stubbornly: "One day, I will definitely go to India. It is the source of Buddhism and a place of peace and joy! What I see now is nothing but falsehood, this is karma... Amitabha..."

Obviously, Master Xuanzang is a man of great will. It is precisely because of such obsession that he can overcome all obstacles and embark on the road to the west again and again.

But he still stubbornly believes that at some point, there must be a place like heaven at the source of this teaching!

He felt that he had to go and see, and from there, he would definitely get the key to saving the world.

Even at this moment, his heart was a little shaken, but his ambitions remained unchanged.

Sitting opposite, Chen Zhenglei, who was sleeping, suddenly opened his eyes suddenly and said, "I am familiar with Tianzhu?"

Xuanzang looked surprised and hurriedly looked at Chen Zhenglei and said, "Are you familiar with me? Have you been to the donor?"

"I haven't been there yet." Chen Zhenglei said truthfully: "But I have learned Tianzhu dialect, and I have seen a lot of pictures of Tianzhu mountains and geography. Sooner or later, the Chen family will go to Tianzhu and build the railway there."

After saying that, Chen Zhenglei, with a cold-faced face, remained silent.

Xuanzang: "..."

He found that these Chen family members... were like their own mirror. They were too secular and had reached a point where people felt cruel.

So Xuanzang looked firm in his eyes and said, "I will go too, I will definitely go!"

The steam train continued to travel all the way. Although the train always made people feel sore in the waist and back pain, it was still much faster and more comfortable than riding on a fast horse along the way.

After passing Shuofang Station, I finally arrived at Erpigou Station a few days later.

This day...

It happened to be the day when Chen Zhengtai entered the palace.

After getting off the bus, Chen Zhenglei did not hesitate and asked Xuanzang and Chen Aixiang to take a break for the time being, but he was exhausted and found a fast horse and rushed to the Chen family to report.

But when I arrived at the Chen family, I realized that Chen Zhengtai had entered the palace.

Chen Zhenglei was actually extremely exhausted, but people like him didn't care about going there any more. Since he couldn't find Chen Zhengtai, he thought about it and went to find his third uncle.
