7. The night watchman

Lordstown Harbor was once one of the most famous seaports on the Allen Peninsula.

The Azazel steam-powered battleship built and launched here was once regarded as the backbone of human civilization - when the backbone of mankind was not interrupted.

While that ocean voyage brought disaster to the entire world, it also caused the battleship to disappear and never return to the embrace of human civilization from the deep sea.

Since then, humans have stopped exploring the sea, and their activities have been limited to the sea area in front of their homes. There was once a bustling crowd, and fishing boats all over the coastal waters can only be glimpsed in books.

Although the entire maritime industry has suffered a devastating blow, the Port of Rodster is still one of the major ports on the Allen Peninsula.

The coastline stretches into a crescent-shaped bay, in which the Port of Rodster is located.

Belfast is built on a low hill, and the streets and houses are divided into ladder-like layers, stretching from the top of the mountain to the mountainside, and from the mountainside to the foot of the mountain.

Throat Point, the street closest to the coast in Belfast.

Lu Li stood in front of the guardrail and took off his hat.

The sea breeze blows in my face, bringing with it a faint smell of sea and the noise brought by the wind.

Lu Li came at the right time.

The fishing boat named Rhodes is easily identifiable. It is docked at the edge of the port, and the surrounding fishing boats are avoiding other areas as if encountering the plague.

There were many people like Lu Li watching the fun in front of the guardrail. There were children who were looking curiously and were taken home by their mothers who looked frightened.

Some police officers arrived to maintain order at the port, but they obviously didn't know how to deal with this kind of thing. They could only disperse the idle people in the port and prevent the crew of the Rhodes from moving around.

The noisy sounds blown by the sea breeze were indistinguishable, and the pea-sized figure could not clearly see their current situation. Lu Li could only focus on the Rhodes ship docked at the port.

The Rhodes boat is a three-masted sailboat with a length of about fifty meters. After the disaster, it was a fishing boat for offshore fishing. This medium-sized non-powered vessel is no longer suitable for sailing into the deep sea, and its instability and slow speed make it difficult to sail into the deep sea.

It is destined to be difficult to come back before dark.

When night falls, the dangers in the ocean are far scarier than on land - even if there is light, it will not help.

There was no damage to the exterior of the Rhodes ship, and there was no part different from other hulls. However, under Lu Li's continuous gaze, he heard neither low murmurs nor strange hallucinations.

Everything is business as usual.

More and more residents gathered on the beach to watch. Even though many people were afraid of these things, there were still many people who were curious about them, such as young people who were fearless.

Amidst the commotion, there was a commotion from the other side of the street.

Two steam cars drove into the Kojiao neighborhood, and the crowds avoided them and headed towards the wooden bridge leading to the port.

In the sight of the public, steam cars stopped one after another in front of the port, several doors opened, and black boots stepped out of the doors.

This group of guys were capable and mysterious, wearing uniform black uniforms, and the armband was a fully open eye. As soon as he saw them, Lu Li could not help but associate these people with the "Night Watch" in Hades's words.

.

After they got off the bus and walked towards the port, a figure among them stood still, suddenly turned around and looked around at the crowd on the street in the corner of the throat.

Those eyes looked at the crowd with a scrutinizing look, paused slightly at Lu Li, then withdrew his gaze, turned around and followed in the footsteps of his colleagues.

"Are those policemen stupid? They were so close to the ship!" Matthew walked at the front, walking quickly, wanting to rush over and kick away these colleagues who were looking for death.

"They are ordinary people, and it is normal not to know this." Joel turned around and shouted to the lone figure behind him: "Boss, you are walking too slow!"

"It's just a few steps away." Pulis slowly followed the team and gave the order: "One team will get on the ship, and the second team will go and the police to evacuate the workers, keep them away from the crew and the ship, and then support the first team."

"clear."

There was an uneven response, and the seven team members dispersed.

Pulis stood where he was, quietly waiting for his subordinate to bring the results.

A few minutes later, Matthew poked her head out from the deck of the Rhodes, her ponytail hanging down, waving her hand downwards and shouting: "Boss! Pollutants have been found! This ship is indeed in trouble."

Pulis looked up: "Do you know which series it is?"

"Several crew members said that when the fishing boat was sailing, a cloud of fog blew over the sea, and then they encountered those things."

"Mist..." Pulis murmured in a low voice and nodded: "I understand. All the crew members took them back for isolation observation, and dragged the thing and the Rhodes to the sea burial ground for sinking. Look at the people working,

Don't let them put anything in their pockets."

"Understood! We won't make the same mistake twice!" Matthew responded with a laugh.

Pulis did not smile, there was always a faint worry lingering in his heart.

He thought of something and shouted to the ship: "Ask the crew where they encountered the fog."

The time now is ten o'clock in the morning. It is impossible for the Rhodes ship to spend the night in the deep sea, which means that it can only set sail at dawn in the morning... It has only been five hours since dawn.

In five hours, including the return journey, how far can they travel?

Matthew was obviously aware of this, his face turned pale, and his head disappeared from the edge of the deck. A few dozen seconds later, Matthew's yelling sounded, and then his head poked out from the edge of the deck.

"They said it was 35 nautical miles from the port!" Matthew looked ugly. Her necklace slipped out of her clothes and swayed in the air. "The damn thing is getting closer to the coastline!"

35 nautical miles, almost on the edge of the sea, very close to home.

Pulis was silent for a while and replied: "Go and ask Joel to come over."

"oh!"

Matthew responded and retracted his head. Not long after, Joel's figure appeared at the edge of the deck.

"Where's Matthew?" Pulis frowned.

"He called me over and ran to search for contaminants."

"Alas..." Pulis sighed inaudibly, rubbed his forehead and said, "Go and call Matthew over, you have to come over too."

"knew."

Unlike Matthew who was irritable, Joel was much more rational. He nodded and walked away, and after a while, Matthew's clear voice sounded on the deck.

"Is there anything else, boss!"

"The other ships are fine. This encounter may be just an accident. But just in case, Joel, you stay here to deal with the aftermath. Matthew, follow me back to the police station to find the chief."

After Matthew ran down, the two Prices left the port and walked towards the steam car parked in front of the harbor.

The crowd on the throat street had not dispersed yet. For some reason, a pair of extremely calm black eyes appeared in Pulis's mind, and he subconsciously looked at a certain area behind the guardrail.

Vaguely, a slender figure wearing a top hat disappeared among the crowd.

"Boss, what's wrong?" Matthew asked strangely.

Pulis looked back and shook his head slightly.
