Chapter 22: The Friendship of Men
Colonel Phillips was invisibly slapped in the face by Steve, said a few more words hurriedly and left, handing all the candidates to William for training.
As an elite graduated from that place, he believed that William would definitely train these unruly soldiers well.
After Colonel Phillips and Dr. Erskine left, William stood in front of the recruits again, and a wicked smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
Training is about to begin!
All the soldiers shivered inexplicably. William's aura was as if possessed by a wild beast, and was filled with a strange pressure.
...
During the next training time, the recruits finally experienced the authenticity of what William said that day.
William is indeed a complete genius, mastering everything from fighting, reconnaissance, shooting skills, physical fitness... until the deadline came, and the box of rum that William promised was still not delivered.
However, after William learned that the quota of the super soldiers was still on Steve's head, he took a box of wine that had been prepared and called out everyone except Steve, and came to a corner of the barracks, and drank the recruits who had been training for twenty days.
"I wish you can survive!" Fifteen people sat around in front of an oil lamp.
William raised the bottle of wine in his hand and said goodbye to the soldiers.
Although the soldiers were happy about being able to drink, they were saddened by William's departure.
William really taught them a lot of things during these twenty days, many of which were cutting-edge knowledge that could not be learned in the military camp and monopolized by the elite.
William's teachings are really endless, treating them equally and never favoring others.
"Thank you, sir!" Hodge, who was originally the most rebellious, drank the spicy wine in his mouth, and felt his nose was a little sour.
Twenty days of getting along made Hodge completely let go of his pride. He was crushed in all directions and finally chose to surrender. William was the object they needed to look up to and the object they respected.
In just twenty days, they had to part so quickly that they were more or less reluctant to part with each other.
William completely put down the shelf he had been holding, looked at the group of soldiers he brought out with his own hands, put down the bottle with a smile, took out the fourteen prepared letters, and handed them one by one.
"No, no! Don't open it now!" After stopping several people who wanted to open the envelope, William sat down again and said, "If you can survive the victory of the war and feel confused, open this letter and it will give you a good job. But don't be happy too early. This job is full of risks and will always be with the war. You can't say much about it. As long as you know, once you accept this job, you may never be able to return to your normal life! Think about whether to open it after the war is over, can you agree to me?"
The people holding the envelope looked at each other and finally raised the wine bottle together...
The next day, an inconspicuous car was driving in the streets of Brooklyn, New York.
William and the driver sat in the front, leaving the back seat to Steve and Agent Carter.
Steve kept talking to Carter about how familiar this street was, and where he received the attack.
Finally Carter sent a soul-searching question to Steve: "You can't talk to girls, right?"
Steve was speechless and could only say in the end: "This is the longest conversation between me and the girl."
William, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned his head and smiled a little, "Steve, don't you hear that, Agent Carter is interested in you?"
"Sometimes I really want to punch you, Lieutenant Colonel Evans!" Peggy Carter looked at William's smiley face that deserved a beating, resisting the urge to punch him, and not turning his face to stop looking at him.
Steve sighed and had been with William for more than twenty days, and he had become familiar with William.
Overall, William is not a psychopath. He just speaks mostly according to his preferences, and does not care about the feelings of outsiders at all. He interrupts if he thinks it is fun, and doesn't care who that person is.
But when doing serious business, William is still very reliable. For example, during training, William taught him a lot and serious things, and it is knowledge that he cannot access normally.
In general, getting along well with William. At least William lives a real life, which is something that many people cannot do.
"Please don't say that, William, this is not a good reputation for Agent Carter," Steve said.
William had no choice but to spread his hands and stopped interrupting. If he had not been able to participate in the Super Soldier Project, he probably wouldn't have found a girlfriend in his life.
Agent Carter smacked his lips in a slight way, feeling a little unhappy.
They got off the car in front of an antique shop, led by Agent Carter, and then joined the underground laboratory after connecting with the old lady in the antique shop.
William still wants to complain that this sci-fi underground laboratory is really inconsistent with this era.
After passing through the long corridor, the three of them finally arrived in a rotunda hall, with various unknown instruments surrounding this circular step, two metal boxes like coffins placed in the middle, and circles of cables connected to the metal bin.
Many researchers in white coats were constantly debugging the instruments and measuring the values below, but after seeing the three people, everyone looked up at them as if they had pressed the pause button.
"Let's go Steve!" William photographed Steve who was shocked by this scene, allowing him to come back to his senses from the shock.
William looked at the two containers below and couldn't wait to lie in. He was a little afraid of the pain. Even people like Steve screamed so miserably. He would definitely scream louder, right?
His throat and lungs have also been strengthened, so it would be embarrassing to scream at that time...
Thinking about some unrestrained questions, William and Steve walked to Dr. Erskine one after another.
When Erskine saw the arrival of the two, he bypassed William and extended his hand to Steve: "Good morning, are you ready?"
William looked intoxicated and began to untie his clothes, saying as if he was moaning, "I can't wait~!"
Erskine looked at William, sighed helplessly, but couldn't help laughing: "Okay, Steve, take off his hat and take off his top... No need for pants! Please, William, can you be serious?"
"Of course!" Although he agreed, William was still careless and did not take those politicians seriously!
Steve also took off his clothes and exposed his thin body, which was in sharp contrast to William, whose muscle profile was perfect.
The two lay in two different instruments under the guidance of their assistants, and William also looked at the observation room where the politicians were located diagonally above.
"What a bunch of beasts in clothes~!" William smiled disdainfully, ready to meet the pain that followed.
Because there was not enough manpower, a certain playboy's father personally put a restraint on William.
"We're meeting again, Mr. Stark~!" William turned his head and looked at Howard Stark, who was wearing a small vest, walked in, with a strange smile on his face.
Howard walked to William's side, stunned for a moment, then a flash of inspiration reminded who William was.
"No, no, no, no! I don't like men!" Howard took two steps back in horror, shook his head and waved his hand, and recognized William as the one who shouted under his booth some time ago: I love you too~Howard~!
I originally thought it was just a joke, but I didn't expect to catch it here. What if that's true!
If the experiment is successful, will he face the ravages of a super soldier?!
Hiss ~! Terrible!
"Hahaha!" William smiled. He likes interesting people like Howard. "I still like girls. If there is a party after the experiment is over, I must invite me!"
When Howard heard this, he breathed a sigh of relief and returned to the container.
"There is no party after the experiment, but there are many after the war. Do you want to participate? What do you call it?" Howard stretched out his hand to William, with an expression on his face that men knew.
"William Evans, just call me William! I'm very interested in the party~!"
