Chapter 052 Thailand

After the vice president left, Masao Ishihara fell into his personal thoughts. Whether it was the absolute vodka in Sweden or the blue sky vodka in the United States, in RB, it has become less and less as pure vodka.

They exist more as base wine for mixing cocktails. For him, drinking vodka is like drinking alcohol and water.

Even if you drink relatively high-end French Grey Goose Vodka, Polish Snow Tree Vodka, and Canadian Skull Vodka, you won’t be able to go there.

Although I clearly know that drinking vodka is a pure feeling of wine, I can't really like this type of wine.

As for the earliest origin of vodka, it is as controversial as the earliest origin of whiskey. One is Russia, the other is Poland.

The correct way to drink vodka is to take a deep breath, then pick up the cup and finish the vodka in it.

When Masao Ishihara thought of this, he naturally thought of Maru Soup. Even if Koreans like it very much, it doesn’t mean he likes it.

The personal feeling of Zhenlu Soup Wine gives me is that it is that it is even harder to really like Erguotou than vodka. Who makes me prefer strong alcohol with an alcohol content of more than 40 degrees?

Chinese liquor generally belongs to the category of spirits, after all, the alcohol content is often above 40 degrees. However, not all liquors are real liquors.

Strictly speaking, a formulated wine made of blending edible alcohol and edible spices cannot be considered as white wine. Furthermore, the alcohol content of real white wine is above 50 degrees.

Masao Ishihara stood up, then reached out and took the coffee cup on his right hand. He walked towards the window. He stopped and looked into the distance.

Masao Ishihara knew very well that this Asian financial storm was not that easy to pass. At the earliest, it happened in Thailand.

When Thailand couldn't resist it, it once asked the RB government for loan rescue and all of them were agreed. However, the IMF (International Monetary Fund), led by the United States, interfered and ruined the situation.

Not only Thailand has taken the initiative to ask for help from RB, but South Korea has also asked for help from RB. The latter is also caused by Imf's interference and it has been ruined.

Not only that, RB also actively advocated the establishment of a US$100 billion "Asian Monetary Fund" cooperation framework in an attempt to save this Asian financial crisis.

This proposal is not only supported by Southeast Asian countries, but also supported by China. Unfortunately, it has been ruined by IMF.

Why is the first person to ask for help from Thailand to take the initiative to think of is RB, not others? The main business in the previous life was Masao Ishihara in the financial and economic fields, with a deeper understanding and analysis than ordinary people.

When it comes to RB in 1985, many people will think of the "Place Agreement" signed with the United States, which will ruin RB's economy and US conspiracy theories.

In fact, the Plaza Accord was not signed by the United States and the Japanese yen, but also by West Germany, France and the United Kingdom, which are the contents of the agreement reached by five countries.

With the popularity of the Internet, the decade, twenty or thirty years of the RB economy have been regarded as real. In fact, RB people are not fools.

They had long been prepared for the time being. Moreover, before the signing of the Plaza Agreement, the mainstream view of RB, from the government to the private level, and from the economic field to the financial field, also felt that the yen should appreciate.

Before the yen appreciated this time, in fact, the yen had already appreciated once in the 1960s. That time, the yen appreciated 360:1 against the US dollar to 240:1.

The reason why the yen chose to appreciate was due to the rapid economic development at that time. This not only did not bring negative impacts, but also helped RB's domestic economic industry transformation and upgrading, thus establishing RB's leading position in the world in electronics, automobiles, semiconductors, etc.

In the 1980s, the yen and the US dollar appreciated from 240:1 to 120:1. Many people in many places also felt that there would not be many problems, which would help RB's economic takeoff again.

While the yen is gaining strongly and rising, the economy and finance in one region in the world have also been greatly affected, that is, some countries in Southeast Asia.

The most representative of them is Thailand. Before South Korea achieved the so-called "Hanjiang Economic Miracle", after the normalization of RB's relations with South Korea, it transferred a large number of its labor-intensive industries to South Korea.

At the same time, RB has also begun to invest overseas. In addition to South Korea, some Southeast Asian countries have also become its destination for transferring domestic labor-intensive industries and important investments.

In the 1980s, while the rb economy was in its heyday, the economic bubble was expanding rapidly. At the same time, a large amount of yen also needed an investment place.

As a result, some Southeast Asian countries once again became an important investment destination for the yen. At this time, in order to develop their own economy, Thailand naturally took a high-profile attitude that could attract foreign investment more than other Southeast Asian countries. A large amount of yen flowed into some Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand.

In the early and mid-1990s after the economic bubble burst, the annual interest rate of domestic commercial banks' loans was below 5%, and the annual interest rate of deposits hovered around 1%, while the annual interest rate of commercial banks' deposits in Thailand had reached more than 10%.

At the same time, the annual interest rate of commercial bank deposits in mainland China during this period was almost the same, and it even reached a high dangerous level of more than 20% and 30%.

Why did a large amount of yen not enter mainland China, but entered Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand? On the one hand, mainland China is not open finance, while Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand are.

On the other hand, it was because of the particularly major political event in the late 1980s that led to the collective escape of foreign capital led by the United States and despising the future of mainland China's economy.

In 1991, not only the collapse of the former Soviet Union, but also the critical moment of mainland China's economy in life and death. In such an era, the Japanese yen and Thai baht were also rising.

For those who understand finance, they see an excellent opportunity, which is to convert a large amount of yen into Thai baht and then lend it out.

Even if you just use the most secure strategy and directly deposit the Thai baht into a commercial bank in Thailand, you can still make a stable profit.

Even if the money is loaned from RB Commercial Bank, not including the appreciation of the yen to the Thai baht, there is still an annual interest difference between the two countries at least 10%.

According to Marx in "Das Kapital", if there is 10% profit, capital will be guaranteed to be used everywhere. Thailand will naturally become the hot land that international hot money yearns for.
