Chapter 2632 God, what kind of emperor is

The one who seeks the scriptures is in Chang'an.
There is no meaning to just having scriptures. After all, copying according to the words and not understanding the meaning is just a transfer tool.
Fei Qian wanted to simply print a few Tao Te Chings, even if Degrandzi would use pig, cattle, sheep and blood to copy, or gold powder to copy, it would have no magical powers.
The greatest supernatural power of the Tao Te Ching is in its thoughts.
Therefore, Fei Qian asked DeGranzi to stay in Chang'an for a while first, and at least he had to truly understand Chinese before he could translate the Tao Te Ching more accurately and convey the true meaning of the God-sected religion in the five directions.
So DeGranzi lived near Chang'an, and then he discovered many places that were completely different from the snowy areas and from his hometown...
For example, water mill.
DeGranzi widened her eyes, looked at the delicate and white wheat flour, which emerged from the millstone little by little, then fell into the stone trough, and finally merged into the wooden barrel.
There are also grinders in the snow, but there is no water mill.
So DeGranzi could not imagine that such a big mill, and so many mills, only one person was needed. Oh, in fact, three people worked in three shifts to take care of them, and then bags of rough wheat grains turned into snow-white flour.
Well, Dahan's flour is actually not as pale as the later generations, but a little yellow, but in DeGranzi's eyes, these flours are already "snow-white".
If you just say that the future is wonderful and then eat savory vegetables every day, will anyone believe that the future is really happy?
DeGranzi felt it was not worth believing. He felt that the Five-Terms God Church was a good doctrine, not entirely because of how beautiful the world of gods depicted by the Five-Terms God Church was, but because he saw how happy the Han Dynasty was in Chang'an.
At least, Bidgranzi's snowy area is happier.
People at different times have different attitudes towards the same item.
Just like wheat flour and stone mill, DeGranzi believed it was a magical technique, while the busy workers in Chang'an Mill looked at DeGranzi like fools.
DeGranzi asked the workers in the mill how the water mill operated. Where did the workers in the mill understand this? The workers said: "Isn't it all like this? Pour the wheat grains into the stone mill, and then the wheat flour will come out naturally..."
What does it mean to be like this?
What does it mean to be natural?
DeGranzi's communication failed. He could not understand.
So who is right and who is wrong between these two people?
Whose concept is the correct response to the facts?
In the eyes of mill workers, this is just a job, going to work and getting off work every day.
However, DeGranzi felt that this is an important technology to change the snow area and can make the people in the snow area live a better life...
The key is that such technology seems to be everywhere in Chang'an City.
Put it there without any concealment.
It was like books in a bookstore, like arguments in Qinglong Temple, like shining pearls that you can pick up at will, like gorgeous gems revealed on the side of the road, which made DeGranzi feel dizzy.
DeGranzi sat on the stones outside the water mill in a daze, watching trucks of wheat turn into trucks of flour, then looked at several mills standing side by side not far away, and watched the endless flow of Wei River driving the rustling of water wheels.
DeGranzi suddenly developed an indescribable sense of isolation for his past life and the world of the snowy area. In the past, no, the people in the snowy area who lived like his past, could they be in a different world from these Han people in Chang'an?
This phenomenon of completely contrary to his old ideas made DeGranzi at a loss.
In addition to water mills, in Chang'an, DeGranzi also saw many elderly people.
There are so many that DeGranzi, who had just arrived in Chang'an, was a bit incredible.
In DeGranzi's eyes, don't these elderly people need to continue working? Depending on their situation, they should be able to carry loads, farm, and chop wood. How can they smile and sit there without doing anything? Could it be that the great man is so rich that these elderly people don't have to work?
In Degrandzi's tribe, there is no concept of an old man, only dead people and living people. Those who can work and can work in the future are living people. Those who cannot work are dead people, or those who want to die.
At first, DeGranzi went to ask a few old people why they were so idle, and to find out the truth, were they ready to die when they were...
Then he was almost knocked to death by the old man with a kidnapper...
Only then did DeGranzi realize that in the big man, the elderly can actually support their elderly!
Older people can do not have to work even if they have the ability to work!
Why?!
He asked, and then the elderly said, isn’t this a natural thing? When you are old, you should be retired. Could it be that you have to continue working?
How could this be natural?
DeGranzi felt like a fool. Facing so many things that the Han people thought were natural, they felt that they were not natural at all.
It was just like the answer he got in the water mill just now.
The mill's deskman laughed and said that what's so strange about this water mill? Isn't it all working like this?
DeGranzi thought and searched hard.
In snowy areas, time is very precious for ordinary people, and everyone is very busy. The fields need to be planted, felt blankets need to be weaved, tents need to be cleaned, and livestock need to be carved. Everyone has to be busy from the moment they open their eyes to the close of their eyes. Only those ignorant children and noble people do not need to work. Therefore, once the elderly among ordinary people cannot work, they will die quietly without dragging their families.
Can the old man be so leisurely?
Is this the blessing of Gods from the five directions?
But DeGranzi himself also believed in the Gods of the Five Directions, so why couldn't he get such blessing?
DeGranzi stood up, left Shuimo and returned to Chang'an City.
His mind was full of problems. He found Guo Tu, but Guo Tu, who had not completed the task before, obviously had no good attitude towards DeGranzi. He was so humming that he didn't want to talk to DeGranzi at all. After hitting a nail that was neither soft nor hard, he walked back before the government office, and then he met Fei Qian who happened to be inspecting the work.
DeGranzi stopped Fei Qian, fell to Fei Qian, and raised his own questions.
Fei Qian took DeGranzi to the hall and sat down.
After sitting down, DeGranzi was still talking about his doubts and sincerely asked Feiqian for advice. Why is there such a phenomenon, why can a big man have equipment such as water mills, why can there be various other products, and why can the elderly enjoy their old age so happily...
Fei Qian was a little surprised because he thought that nomadic peoples would think that the elderly are burdens, and only the elderly who can work are good elderly people. But DeGranzi said that they also hope that the elderly can survive better and more, but because they can't afford to raise so many elderly people, they let those elderly people who cannot work die.
This is really interesting.
Fei Qian touched his beard and pondered, feeling a little difficult to explain, "What should I say? Retirement costs money... Well, you actually don't have a perfect currency system over there, and you probably don't understand this explanation..."
After all, Fei Qian could not tell DeGranzi that in fact, the Han Dynasty was only the Three Guards of Chang'an, or the rule of his own was pretty good. There were still elderly people in other places who had to work until they died, or they would die when they could not work...
"So that," Fei Qian looked at DeGranzi, "Before I figured out this problem, I will tell you a few things...such as, what is wealth and what is work..."
"Wealth?" de Granzi repeated.
Fei Qian nodded, "A question like this, actually, in fact, our Han ancestors were already thinking and exploring a lot... For example, Guan Gong and Mo Zi..."
Guan Zhong’s understanding of social wealth is that it is best for aristocratic and wealthy families to burn firewood that withered flowers when they burn fire. When encountering a desolate year, they have to build a large-scale construction to allow hungry people to have food. The more disasters arise, the more they have to struggle. All nobles who care about the cost savings of disaster victims must be arrested and sentenced...
On the other hand, Mozi and Mozi, who had some opposite ideas from Guan Zhong, said that they could not do this, but should concentrate the money of the nobles and wealthy families together, and then build water conservancy, build houses, reclaim land, plant mulberry and hemp, etc. They must not spend money on any withered firewood...
Guan Zhong said that if you have to spend money, how can you circulate without spending money? Everyone needs to spend money and find a way to take out every copper plate to achieve social development...
Mo Zhai shook his head, saying that he could not spend money, he should be frugal, and also had a plan to increase the population. He should allocate spouses to those single ones to ensure that each couple had at least three...
So is Guan Zhong right or is Mo Di’s concept correct?
Without the specific environment, absolute judgments are all problematic.
Whether it is Guan Zhong or Mo Zhai, they are right. When they have no reference, they rely on their own wisdom to explore governance methods that suit them, rather than just waiting to find the one to pirate the copy.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, hundreds of schools of thought contend, and everyone was exploring in the long river of history. Any stone they felt was considered a stone. Some adopted a similar simple communism, some adopted a primary capitalist model. And what is interesting is that these theoretical models do not necessarily separate one life-and-death like later generations, but exist at the same time...
Fei Qian said, DeGranzi listened.
"How does a family's wealth come from? It is obtained by working in this family," Fei Qian said slowly, "The family forms tribes, villages, counties, townships, and larger prefectures, counties, and countries... So wealth is born from labor. If you don't do anything, there will naturally be no wealth... and there are many ways of working, including farming and workshops...
Not only in terms of attitudes to wealth, but in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, all schools of thought had their own attitudes and methods, but also in terms of their ways of dealing with labor.
Developing industry and building workshops, according to Guan Zhong's method, it is believed that using slaves is easy to escape, and then flee to the deep mountains and forests. It is very troublesome to not catch them. If the people are used as labor, the people will be dissatisfied, and the whole people will easily cause trouble. Therefore, the easiest way is to send the mine to the rich businessman, draw three-tenths of tax, and let the rich businessman be responsible for the rest of the matter, and conduct indirect management. Just need the rich businessman to pay the money. When necessary, heavy taxes will be imposed on the rich businessman, and at the same time encourage the rich businessman to consume, thereby adjusting the distribution of wealth.
Mo Di would say that he should first explain to the people that this thing should be "benefit the world", then gather wealth and manpower, be united in one's heart, and be righteous in common. He should take Mo people who abide by discipline and asceticism as the pioneer, lead the people to produce, and then sell iron tools or distribute them to people, collect funds, and expand production.
These things, these different ideas, and these seemingly contradictory measures have been recorded and truly existed on the land of China.
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, no one questioned what kind of ideology Guan Zhong or Mo Di belonged to, and no bricks jumped out to hang out with a fig leaf, because both Guan Zhong and Mo Di expressed frankly that they did this to gain more wealth, gather the power of everyone, for defense, or for hegemony.
They are all saying that if you get these wealth, you should make good use of them, cherish them, and not waste your efforts...
Then, Confucianism came and began to embellish the wrongs.
Things on paper are beautiful, but things are actually scarce. As we get to the back, there are more and more lies, ridicule and ridicule. The hard work of the people has become the glory of the leader.
When Sima Gong wrote the Records of the Grand Historian, he praised these different wisdoms, but after the Jin Dynasty, no one would say so, especially in terms of cherishing people's power, it became increasingly rare, but a bunch of painted ink was left, and there were all over the top ink.
『You began to pay attention to the elderly, which is very good... After understanding what wealth and labor is, then you can understand that only by caring about the leadership of your people can you truly care about the elderly and children of the people... Well, there is a saying, "Governing a big country is like cooking a small fresh." Fei Qian explained a little, smiled and said, "This is a sentence in the true scripture I am going to give you... Most people will think that this is teaching people to cook... Haha... But I think you should know what the real meaning is...
"Treading the Star"
'What does it mean?' de Granzi thought.
Fei Qian nodded.
DeGranzi raised his head and said with a little hesitation, "Is it... food?"
"It's okay... It's okay, you can think about it later..." Fei Qian said with a smile, "It's okay to follow the food you understand for now... The elderly in a family can not work, is it because the young people in this family, or in this family, can get enough food to ensure that the family has no worries about food?"
DeGranzi thought for a moment, then nodded quickly, "Yes."
"Okay, if I order the food that these young people work at this time to pay a portion of the food they work for... as taxes, or some other reason..." Fei Qian paused for a moment, "Then the young people in this family still don't have to work harder. Do young people have to work harder and get more food so that they can do the same as before?"
DeGranzi nodded again, "Yes."
"If..." Fei Qian continued to ask, "If the young man in this family has tried his best, he starts working every day from the moment he opens his eyes, and still cannot get enough food to support the family? Will the elderly also have to work?"
DeGranzi nodded, "Yes."
"The fields are so big and there are only so many pastures. No matter how hard it is, a piece of land or grassland can support people, right? If it is said that once a young person works, it will be difficult to support a family..." Fei Qian's voice was low, "In this case, when the elderly and young people compete for limited food in the same area, the elderly will automatically give up the opportunity to survive to the young people..."
DeGranzi remained silent for a long time, then sighed: "Yes... in the tribe, many elderly people are not completely unable to work, but they will choose to die when they feel that it has dragged their children down..."
Fei Qian said slowly, "The elderly represent experience and the past, and the children represent the future and hope. Those who only focus on the leadership of young people and middle-aged people, even if they say it well, are just to want young people to work more and snatch more food from them... If young people can't even support the elderly in their own homes, how can they support other people who need food? If people in a tribe find that they can't even support their elderly and children, then what kind of fighting spirit does this tribe have to open up new worlds? Is your tribe... that's it?"
DeGranzi fell in front of Fei Qian, "Please give me advice..."
Fei Qian helped DeGranzi up and said, "In the true scripture I gave you, there is a saying, "The Supreme One knows that there is it; secondly, praise it with closeness. Secondly, fear it. Secondly, insult it. If you don't believe it, you don't believe it. If you are happy, you will be very proud of your words. If you succeed, the people will say that I am naturally."
『This...I don't quite understand...』
DeGranzi was very ashamed. He found himself like a monkey squatting at the entrance of the treasure cave. He could enter the treasure next, but he didn't know how to open the door.
In comparison, the snowy area is so barren, and Chang'an is simply a kingdom of gods!
"Take it slowly, learn it slowly...but if you are the only one, your strength is limited, and only more people can change your hometown better and faster... You must first basically learn the Chinese words and languages, so that you can understand the true meaning of the Han scriptures... Just work hard..." Fei Qian said slowly, "The God of the Five Directions is the God of all the world. God of the Five Directions blesses us Han people and will also bless you people in the snow... As long as you are those who sincerely believe in the God of the Five Directions..."
"I will definitely study hard...I will definitely spread the teachings of God from all directions throughout my hometown..."
