Chapter 2596 Fei Qians pursuit of scriptures
When Liu Xie and Boss Cao got "unexpected joy", Fei Qian also welcomed his "seeker" here.
That's right, it's not that the Han people went to "seek the scriptures", but that other people came to Chang'an to "seek the scriptures".
Moreover, this sutra is not a Buddhist scripture, but a Taoist scripture.
It is said that Fei Qian's five-way God Sect's promotion actions were done well, at least in the snowy area, and it attracted a large number of people in the snowy area to believe it. However, not everyone who went to the snowy area was as smart as Xuanzang. There are many Taoist scriptures that are actually very rich in the lake, and there is no very accurate statement. There may even be conflicting situations in which the preacher and the preacher say contradict each other.
This is like Buddhism spread in China in the early days. At first there was only one type, but later it became many types. Some of these types even seem to be completely different except for worshipping the same Buddha.
When Fei Qian knew that someone was coming to obtain the scriptures, he was very surprised and decided to make some arrangements. After all, Fei Qian still had a real person name on his head...
"Gongda sent people to contact these people," Fei Qian looked at the article reported by Xun You on the table, and then said, "I have learned a little bit in general... Well, please explain it to you too..."
Xun You bowed, "There were 15 people who were seeking sutra this time, but two people fell and died on the way, and they were not able to recover from the illness. They were lying on the way. They were stolen and slandered and could not pass by three people. When they arrived in front of Dachuan, they met another thief and were killed four people. When they arrived in Longyou, only three people remained. At first, Longyou Post Station thought they were vagrants and savages, so they asked them to save their food and clothing. After asking about it, they knew what happened and reported to Chang'an...
Feiqian has a designated military farming policy. It is a reward for refusal of refugees and savages to settle down. Therefore, only those who are in the post stations and barracks on the edge of Feiqian's territory will take the initiative to gather these people. After all, in history, those who kill some savages on the frontier and take their heads to make a fortune are actually not a minority.
Sometimes this is how conflict arises.
If Fei Qian did not have such relevant policies, or if these policies were implemented without being easy or had great benefits, then these ascetics who came from afar, who were originally like "Xue District Xuanzang" were arrested and their heads were cut off. So is there another time?
In this way, how can we pass on the fire of Chinese civilization?
Do you really think that cultural communication is like in the game, put it there without any care, and then watch the colors slowly penetrate?
"The person is still in Longyou, haven't set out yet?" Fei Qian asked.
Xun You nodded, "The messenger's body is deficient and he needs to take care of him for a few days."
Fei Qian nodded, "Let Wenhe send doctors over... In addition, send a few smart people to learn their language..."
Xun You said he remembered it.
Fei Qian signaled Xun You to continue.
Xun You continued to introduce to everyone: "The envoy of this snowy area, General Xun Wenyuan came out of the way to march..."
Xun You pointed on the map and talked about some information he had obtained from the messengers. As Fei Qian listened, his thoughts fluttered a little.
Those who came to the snow area to seek scriptures, well, are they a hard-working practitioners? They are on the North Line, that is, on the Xining Line.
In fact, there were many roads to enter snowy areas in ancient times. Is there a south route? One was to enter from Sichuan and Shu, and the other was to enter from Yunnan. The Sichuan-Shu Line was earlier and the road was relatively rugged. Basically, they were climbing mountains and down the mountain. However, the climate was relatively milder and the reason was that the mountain was difficult to walk. The Yunnan Line was similar to the Sichuan-Shu Line, and it was also climbing mountains. It has not yet been completely formed and was closer to the Sichuan-Shu Line. However, the problem is that from Chang'an to Yunnan, that is, to the south of Jianning, it is not actually close. Only by going from Jiaozhi to Yunnan is more cost-effective.
The North Line, which is Xining Line, the biggest problem is not climbing the mountain, because when you arrive at Longyou, the altitude is not much different from the snowy area. When you go south of Qinghai Lake, there are not many mountains to climb, but you have to pass through many unmanned areas...
In fact, further north of the Xining Line, there is another route that is claimed to be the most difficult route in China, directly from the Western Regions to the snowy area. This route does not seem to have to cross so many mountains like the Southwest Line, but there are much more unmanned areas than the Xining Line...
The Xining Line is also called the Tang and Tibet Road.
In history, Princess Wencheng took this line.
So how long does it take to take this route?
Some smiles appeared on Fei Qian's face. Others thought he was happy to listen. In fact, Fei Qian thought of a funny incident about Princess Wencheng...
A very interesting incident of "Princess Wencheng's secret box" or a rumor, because some people say that Princess Wencheng has been in Tibet for a year, some say that she has been away for two years, and some say that she has been away for three years...
The three-year version is accompanied by affair with Princess Wencheng and Songzan Gampo's subordinate Lu Dongzan...
This is related to Songtsen Gantou’s hat. How many colors does it mean?
Normally, this Tang and Treasury road only takes about one year to walk, but after three years, there were two of them. Isn’t it because of the affair? Isn’t there a child? Princess Wencheng and Lu Dongzan ran away and were born. Songtsen Gantou wore a green hat and took two years to find two people, and then said generously that this was nothing, so the ones who could not be born were also held and raised? Blood ties and other things were not important, so the three of them lived happily together.
Legends and stories are stories, don’t treat stories as history.
What's more, there are tricks in history books...
At the same time, there is a legend in the snow area that Lu Dongzan asked the Tang Dynasty for marriage, and Li Shimin, who was stingy, made things difficult for the problem. Then Lu Dongzan perfectly solved Li Shimin's difficulties with Songzan Gampo's "Three Tips". Li Shimin asked a question, took a Tips, then asked one, and then took another...
Is there a different sense of familiarity?
The story of "Three Tips" was also used exactly the same with Princess Chizun of Nepal. The only difference was that the bride-quest was replaced by Sambuza, and Li Shimin was replaced by Nibharata.
As for the ants pulling ropes through small holes, mares and ponies, etc., it is basically someone who deliberately fabricates them to deceive the people. After all, entertainment is a tradition. Isn’t ordinary people just a good bite?
After all, for any regime, "whether to marry" and "who to marry" are completely a matter of political choices. How could it be like there is a bid for something, "I have a princess. You all come to compete"? What a great entertainment spirit? It is really a way to ask countries to compete with each other. Isn't this a price increase? It's completely illogical.
Take the Tang Dynasty, which likes marriage, for example, there is not only one princess. Princess Honghua, who married the Tuyuhun King, was also a royal family girl. Tuyuhun married Tuyuhun and Tubo married Tubo. How could Tuyuhun envoys get full and get overwhelmed to mess with Tubo?
So are these strange things really pure entertainment?
Not.
These things are very likely caused by the bald man who went to the snow-capped area to preach.
Because in the so-called multi-version of the "Three Tips" story, there is a version of the three questions used by Li Shimin to make things difficult for the ambassador Lu Dongzan to welcome the bride are "whether there are ten virtues", "whether there are temples, master's offerings" and "whether there are wealth supply"...
Just like the peasants believed that the emperors in the palace were plowing fields with gold hoes and the empress cleaned the courtyard with silver brooms, the monks who compiled stories in Buddhism might think that they had implemented the "Ten Good Deeds". In other countries, such as the Tang Dynasty, Nepal, etc., they must have used the "Ten Good Deeds".
As for why the story of the Tubo king is told, it is because during the missionary process, in order to attract more people to listen, what is more attractive than the "romance" of the big man?
Unfortunately, the Central Plains was a large landlord society dominated by land from beginning to end. The gentry group controlled the right to speak, and was never a religious group. Even if Li Shimin was an emperor with low intelligence, he could not ask two consecutive questions about Buddhism, and put Buddhist questions first...
Therefore, is the importance of missionaries? Or, if a more reliable missionary will not cause such missionaries who do not know whether it is a slander or a color-adding matter, is it important?
If the preacher was not dispatched well, it would be possible that Fei Qian would be a few years later. Just like the rumor of Songtsen Gampo, there would suddenly be a green hat on his head, and then he would become like the Tang King Li Shimin and ask about the idiotic problem.
Fei Qian felt that if the Han Dynasty had cultural penetration as convenient as some tools, media, and platforms in later generations, it would be not that trouble to promote Chinese culture.
Occupy a place, then implementing education and implementing the spread of Chinese civilization, is two completely different concepts and completely different approaches to infiltration and influence without substantial occupation.
The former can be effectively used in the Southern Xiongnu and the Western Qiang, while the latter is to deal with areas that the Han Dynasty cannot directly occupy...
For example, a snowy area.
It was not that the Tang Dynasty could not defeat Tubo, but that it was difficult to occupy and was under political considerations, so the policy of marriage ties was adopted. After all, the marriage ties in the Tang Dynasty were often when the Tang army had the advantage. Perhaps there was some cultural infiltration flavor, which had far-reaching influence on Tubo and other regions. Unfortunately, this cultural infiltration did not form a strategy that could be inherited, so that the taste changed in the later period.
The Xuanwu Gate Incident seemed like a brother-in-law fight, but it was not actually. It was like Li Zhi's conspiracy with Wu Meiniang, which seemed like a foolish act of a lustful person, but it was not actually.
Politics...
Xun You seemed to notice Fei Qian's distractedness and stopped.
Although Fei Qian was distracted, he still had some senses from the outside world. When he heard the sound quiet, he reacted, smiled, and said that he had thought about something just now and apologized to Xun You and everyone.
Xun You and everyone bowed their hands and said they didn't dare.
"Where did you talk about it?" Fei Qian asked.
Xun You said: "I am introducing the people's livelihood in the snowy area..."
Fei Qian nodded, then turned to look at everyone.
"At first I saw these government regulations and regulations in the snow area, and the descriptions..." Fei Qian pointed in the text, "I think this area is a bit like this, but Er... I wonder if you have such a feeling?"
The economy in the snowy area is not good. Moreover, the harvest of the cultivated land there is also very poor. Compared with the high yield per mu in Chang'an, it feels like it is from heaven and earth.
This is a very obvious thing.
Fei Qian looked over everyone's faces one by one, some nodded and some thoughtful.
This is an expanded meeting, but not many people can have a say.
Fei Qian did not intend to give everyone a chance to speak, which would make things more complicated. Expanding is to make more people know something easily, but the host and core should still be firmly grasped in their hands.
As soon as Fei Qian said this, he immediately hit the hearts of many people.
It is not only in Braida that there is any idea of "the kingdom of the Celestial Kingdom". In fact, there are also many such people in other periods.
Inferiority and arrogance are two brothers back to back, Jiao Buli Meng, Meng Buli.
When Fei Qian knew that he was summoning everyone just for the so-called "seekers" in the snow area, except for first-class advisers such as Pang Tong, Sima Yi, Zhuge Jin, or quasi-first-class advisers, many others came to get experience, and prepared to get a plus three experience value after the Mao point, and left, and didn't even focus much on what Xun You said.
Isn’t he just a seeker?
He was beaten up by General Zhang before, and it is said that he even killed someone? Isn’t it almost destroyed the country? What else can I say? It’s just that Fei Qian is the general of the Cavalry and the boss wants to hold a meeting, so these people have to come.
Are you a worker? Checking in and fishing is the best way to go.
Not long after the New Year, everyone is still immersed in the holiday celebration and can’t extricate themselves. It’s understandable, but we can’t keep doing this?
Therefore, this enlarged meeting also has some meaning that everyone is energetic to work.
Of course, in this incident of seeking the scriptures, Fei Qian also discovered some interesting things...
Worth giving it a try.
As for how much the wheel of the Fate can be pushed, it depends on how much everyone can accept it or how well they cooperate.
Fei Qian looked up at everyone and said, "Everyone, there is a very interesting place here... Why do these people come to Chang'an to seek scriptures? They are all so poor and so messy. Is this sutra really useful?"
Everyone was stunned when they heard this, why? Isn’t it because Chang’an is the birthplace of the five God Sects?
Then Pang Tong reacted quickly, frowned and said, "My lord's intention is that it is because of the suffering of the people in the snow... um, or the tribes... fight each other? Then, this behavior of seeking the scriptures by those who seek scriptures may not be pure..."
Fei Qian nodded and clicked twice on the content of people's livelihood in the snowy area on the article reported by Xun You. "These people who seek scriptures are also seeking change."
"Those who seek change?" Everyone either repeated or thought.
Tubo is the first regime in the snow area with clear historical records. Songtsen Gampo is considered to be the actual founder of Tubo, but just like the Shanyu in the desert, it is not established by a bang at a certain point in time. In fact, in the snow area, there must be a process from nothing to something, from dispersion to unification.
It was not Songtsen Gampo who drove this process.
But productivity.
Just like a sentence from later generations, it is what history chose, not who chose history. Even if there is no Songzan Garland, perhaps Songzan wet cloth will be able to complete this.
Songtsen Gampo's role in the aggregation of Tubo is more like a catalyst.
"This... is not difficult to understand." Fei Qian continued, "As far as we know, as described by these people who have learned, is this snowy area...is it somewhat similar to our ancient times? The vast land, the scattered tribes... And now, look, there are agreed systems, and wars between tribes... Some people began to call themselves a certain king, some people began to want to unify the snowy area... Is it very similar? And what is behind these behaviors, or phenomena?"
"It is agriculture, industry, people's livelihood, military, and all the developments that drive these people to change." Fei Qian continued, "Only people have surplus, they will think about walking and communicating, commodity sales, and corresponding struggles will arise... Everyone has selfish intentions, so who can listen to? The law is born... and so on. From the descriptions of these people who have learned the scriptures, I estimate that the snow area should be in this excessive period, a bit like our Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period..."
After Fei Qian said this, everyone nodded.
This is easy to understand.
Before the Sui and Tang Dynasties in my country, people did not know much about the political situation on the cold Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This was caused by inconvenience of transportation and was related to the fact that the Qinghai-Tibet region did not form a relatively powerful unified regime at that time. From the 6th century AD, the Yalong tribe located in the eastern part of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin gradually became stronger and its power expanded to the Lhasa River Basin. By the beginning of the 7th century, after Songtsen Gampo ascended the throne, he first conquered various tribes by force and formally established the Tubo Dynasty.
Although there are no clear historical records in this entire process, it is not as magnificent as the unification of the six kingdoms of the Former Qin Dynasty, it is obvious that after the unification, Tubo began to expand from all directions under the leadership of Songtsen Gampo, making Nepal bow to the south, and Songtsen Gampo married the princess of Nepal, and Xiangtsen Gampo invaded the Tang Dynasty in the east.
After the first request for marriage was rejected by the Tang Dynasty, Songtsen Gampo sent troops to attack the Tang Dynasty. The two countries fought for a long time in the Songpan area and had a victory or defeat. After the Tang Dynasty knew that it was difficult to defeat Tubo quickly, it finally agreed to the request for marriage, which led to the story of Princess Wencheng entering Tibet.
"We China are pioneers..." Fei Qian smiled, but there was a kind of historical weight in his voice. "Look, now we just ran a few steps first, and then there were these people chasing us... If we stopped ourselves, what would happen? In fact, I have always been a little surprised. This thing actually happened in the time of King Zhou, and also in the early Han Dynasty. Why didn't we remember it? Or, no one planned it?"
"This is why I asked you all to come and let Gongda tell you about this." Fei Qian looked around for a week, "The lessons from the past should be the teacher of future generations. Then what we do today will become the experience of future generations in China. The people who seek the scriptures will soon arrive in Chang'an, and what should we do... The people who seek the scriptures, haha, they are the people who seek the scriptures, so why are we... not?"
