Chapter 922 A good place in Siberia

"Siberia is the rear of the great Soviet motherland, with a vast territory, fertile land, rich resources and beautiful scenery. Siberia is a rare and unfinished rich land in the world, and it is also the fastest economic development in the world. Especially after the completion of the country's third five-year plan, Siberia's rich coal, wood, iron ore, non-ferrous metals, water conservancy and other resources have been utilized to a certain extent. In the areas along the Siberian Railway, dozens of emerging cities are rising at an unimaginable rate, and Siberia's modernization of industry, agriculture, science education and transportation is realizing..."

A sweet female voice sounded again from the radio speaker on the train, which made the sleepy Major Solzhenitsyn feel a little bit of energy. He was promoted after winning the Battle of Smoellensk (the Germans have not yet taken Smoellensk yet), and was promoted from captain to major. He also received the order to report to Building 2, Rubyanka Square, Moscow.

There is a fearful headquarters of the People's Committee of the Internal Affairs Department! And there is a prison inside the building... Therefore, Solzhenitsyn has been very nervous these days, fearing that he would be arrested directly after going there.

But it wouldn't be possible not to go to Building 2 of Rubyanka Square, because when he received this order, his troops were resting in Kalinin City, more than 100 kilometers away from Moscow, which was far away from the front line. He even wanted to rebel and surrender to the enemy.

Moreover, the comrades from the Political Department of the Group Army did not give him much time to think about life and future, so they directly took him and more than 100 other officers to report to Building 2 of Rubyanka Square and took him on the train to Moscow.

The passengers in the car looked as depressed as Solzhenitsyn. I don’t know if it was because the Belarusian reactionaries invaded Leningrad or if they might become reactionaries...

Solzhenitsyn also found that some people in the car were lying on the small table along the way and writing something that was probably the materials to explain the crime!

Because the National Defense War was not going well, many comrades relaxed their demands on themselves and made many mistakes in their words and deeds, including some of which can be convicted of anti-GM. Of course, Solzhenitsyn also said incorrect words, and also saw corpses that should not be seen in the Katyn Forest, but he was unwilling to write any explanation materials... He was also lucky, what if it wasn't arrested?

If you explain it yourself, there is nothing to say. You either have 5 years of labor reform or stay in the punishment camp for several months.

In addition to his fear of being exposed for his crimes, Solzhenitsyn was also a little strange. Why did the radio broadcasts on the train keep saying that Siberia is good? How could that place be good? If Siberia is really good, why wouldn't the Soviet capital move here?

...

"Comrades, according to reliable intelligence, German imperialism and Belarusian reactionary forces are currently gathering a large number of armored forces near Leningrad Prefecture, and it is obvious that they will launch an attack on Moscow."

Moscow, the Kremlin Political Bureau meeting is being held, and Stalin announced a bad news he had just received in a heavy tone.

Although Leningrad and Pskov are now basically controlled by the German army and Belarus, Queen Oliga also announced the seemingly high-end "European" route.

However, underground party members and guerrillas who are loyal to the cause of GCism still exist, so the No. 4 tank, Tiger tank and Rhino anti-tank destroyer brought by train cannot be hidden from the intelligence departments of the Soviet Red Army.

The General Staff of the Red Army quickly made a correct judgment, and the next goal of the German army and Belarus was Moscow!

Because Leningrad's battle was to attack the city, there was no need for too many armored troops. Moreover, occupying Moscow in 1943 should be Germany's only hope for quick victory.

If this goal cannot be achieved, the war will inevitably be delayed until 1944, when Germany's main force will be involved in the Soviet-German battlefield, and Japan will inevitably face the main pressure of the United States alone and will likely collapse in 1944.

By then, the Soviet Union would be able to rely on the support of the United States and continue to fight bloody battles with Germany to the end. Therefore, the success of the Moscow defense war is now directly related to the survival of the Soviet Union!

"Moscow must stick to the end no matter what!" Stalin said coldly, "As the General Secretary of the Bolshevik Party, I will personally lead the Battle of Moscow!"

When he said this, his cold eyes slowly swept across every member of the Political Bureau present. Seeing everyone lowering their heads and saying nothing, Stalin took his eyes back.

"But the Bolshevik Central, Supreme Soviet, People's Committee and other organs cannot stay in Moscow with me." Stalin continued, "because Moscow is likely to be surrounded and may fall into fierce war. In this case, it cannot perform its duties as a capital of the Soviet state. So we now need to establish a wartime capital!"

As the primary person responsible for losing Leningrad and a large swath of Soviet territory, Stalin knew that he could not leave Moscow. As long as he stayed in Moscow and fulfilled the last responsibility of a great leader, there would be no major wave of opposition within the party because there was no way to negotiate between the Soviet Union and Germany. Anyone who wanted to take Stalin and replace him had to face the threshold of "the secretary was in charge of the capital."

But once Stalin abandoned the city and left, the person who replaced him would no longer have to bear the responsibility of defending Moscow.

So Stalin must not leave Moscow now. However, the Soviet central organs such as the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party of the Soviet Union, the Supreme Soviet and the People's Commissar, could not stay in the dangerous city of Moscow. Otherwise, once surrounded by the Germans, it would be all in one go.

"Comrades, I suggest that the Soviet wartime capital be located in the city of Chelyabinsk in the Outerars." Stalin proposed his ideal wartime capital location, not the historical Gubishev, but the farther Chelyabinsk.

Chelyabinsk is located in the outer Ural region at the southern end of the Ural Mountains. It geographically belongs to the intersection of the Western Siberian Plain and the Ural Mountains. The Ural Mountains are barriers to the west, the resource-rich and vast plains to the east, and the Kazakhstan grasslands to the south.

If the Soviet Union had used this place as its capital after the fall of Moscow, it could not only resist the further invasion of the German and Belarusian troops with the Urals, but also control the vast Central Asian region nearby.

Although Chelyabinsk Oblast belongs to the Siberian region, its climate is not cold. The average temperature in the coldest months in winter is between minus 16 degrees Celsius and minus 18 degrees Celsius, and in summer it is between 17 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius. Although it is colder than Moscow, it is still acceptable. Moreover, Chelyabinsk also has large areas of black soil and abundant water resources, which are very beneficial for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry.

As for Chelyabinsk, the industrial foundation is also very good. Since the Siberian Railway passed through the state, it was developed to a certain extent in the pre-Tsarist Russia era (now the post-Tsarist Russia era).

After three five-year planned construction, Chelyabinsk has become an emerging heavy industry base with mining, metallurgy (ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals smelting and processing) and machinery industry (Choryabinsk Tractor Factory) as the core.

Most of the factories migrated from Kharkov, Donetsk, Minsk, Smolensk and Leningrad are also gathered in Chelyabinsk and the more distant Omsk, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.

In addition, a large number of industrial equipment "leased" from the United States are also nearby (most of which are transported from the Pacific route) for the construction of Siberian industrial bases. Therefore, the process of industrial, agriculture, transportation and science and technology modernization in Siberia, with Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk as the core areas has been further accelerated.

"Because the war with German imperialism and the Belarusian reactionaries must be long-term and arduous," Stalin spoke, lit his pipe and took a sip. "So we need a large rear that will not be disturbed by the enemy, and this large rear now seems impossible to be the Volga-Ural region, but only Siberia and Central Asia. So from now on, accelerating the construction of Siberia and Central Asia should be an important task as important as military struggle."

Stalin spitted a white smoke: "We must transfer a large number of people from the European region of the Soviet Union that is ravaged by imperialism and Belarus to Siberia and Central Asia. A large number of well-educated, faithful, and loved the Soviet Union and the Bolshevik Party should be mobilized to go to Siberia and Central Asia to accelerate the pace of socialist modernization there and strive to turn Siberia and Central Asia into a developed and prosperous socialist homeland as soon as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we obviously need more external support."

Speaking of this, Stalin looked at the diplomatic people's committee member Molotov. Molotov knew that Stalin was giving orders, and he immediately responded: "Comrade General Secretary, I'll go to the United States right away."
