Chapter 54 National Socialism

"Miss Doctor" Schragmiller was right. Hessmann wanted to build a highly independent intelligence agency. Because he knew that after Germany was defeated, the army would be shackled and the government would be tied up. Not only would it not have strong external force, but internal suppression would become powerless due to chaotic democracy. Internal suppression sounded evil, but more than a year of experience told Hessmann that internal suppression is also an important part of a country's combat effectiveness!

The collapse of the Second Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Russian Empire from within is a manifestation of the lack of internal suppression capabilities!

Although before the collapse of the empire, people's livelihood was difficult and food and coal quotas were decreasing. However, compared with the sufferings encountered by Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union during World War II, the difficulties of Germany, Austria and Russia are nothing at all. Bombs will not fall from the sky, and industry and agriculture can basically be maintained, and no one seems to starve to death.

In addition, the people in the Bolshevik ruling region of Russia have suffered far more than before the February Revolution. However, the Soviet Union did not collapse because they had the All-Russian Committee on Purge of Counter-Revolution and Slow-off Work!

Historically, the Weimar Republic's internal suppression ability was only slightly better than that of the Russian Provisional Government. Although it could suppress the riots between the Nazi Party and the Bolshevik Party, it could not prevent these two parties from having paramilitary power and used them for elections and party fights.

After realizing the importance of internal suppression, Hessman was determined to seize the opportunity in front of him, build Stacey into a huge and independent body, and firmly control it in his own hands.

The goal is a bit grand, and the road to achieving it is of course tortuous. On March 22, 1918, when Hessman received the official order from the National Security Agency to build the Boro, this spy organization that would become a daunting and huge body in the future had only four members - Director Major Hessman, Deputy Director Major Canaris, Training Director Schragmiller and Secretary Rosenberg.

"Today we will discuss the big principles first," Hessman drank coffee and nibbled bread while discussing the establishment of a spy organization with his two deputy.

"First of all, independence, without it we can't do anything," Hessman emphasized, "The second is huge. The institution should be a huge organization, not a small intelligence agency. It has many capabilities and many members."

"Third, the organs should have the ideology of fighting for it, just like Chika..." Hessman pointed out that in the Soviet Union, Chika's soldiers did not consider themselves a despicable and shameless secret police, nor were they conscientiously condemned for their actions. Because they all firmly believe that they are fighting for the liberation of the world's most noble cause, the world's loftiest cause. If Stasi is to become a body comparable to Chika in the future, then it must also make its members believe that they are fighting for some noble cause.

"I think dynastic socialism can be the guiding ideology of Stacey," Elsbet Schragmiller immediately suggested. She was a college student studying economy and understood Marxism and Listerism, the economic theory founded by Friedrich Lister, a great German economist in the 19th century. "This is the only thing that can fight against Marxism and liberalism!"

In contrast to Adam Smith's liberal economics, Lister's theory believes that the state should play an important role in economic life, that the state should dominate industrialization and implement trade protectionism. Lister believes that the production of wealth is much more important than wealth itself. Therefore, the government should try its best to promote its own industrial productivity, and use tariff protection and financial subsidies and other means.

However, unlike the Marxist viewpoint, Lister does not advocate intervention in all areas of the economy. He argues that state intervention or regulation can only be limited to some areas, that is, "the state does not interfere with the things that individuals know more clearly and are better at; on the contrary, what it does is something that cannot be done by his own strength alone, even if the individual understands something." Lister also specifically mentioned what the country needs to do, including: protecting its own merchant ships with the help of naval and maritime regulations; building infrastructure such as roads, railways, bridges, canals, seawalls, etc.; formulating patent laws and regulations that are conducive to production and consumption; promoting the growth of its manufacturing industry, protecting trade, etc. In short, the country's mission is to promote the growth of wealth and productivity, transforming its own country from barbarism to civilization, and from weak to powerful.

Although Liszt's view was not valued during his lifetime, it was also rejected by the mainstream of society at that time. However, after his death (successful suicide in poverty), it led to the economic takeoff of the Second German Empire. In fact, most of the latecomers who took off economically in later generations succeeded in following the route of Liszt.

After the economic takeoff of the German Empire, in order to fight against the threat of the workers' movement, Bismarck began to implement the social welfare system during his reign, and vigorously introduced more than 6,000 laws to protect workers, making Germany the best country in the world with the best welfare of the people in the world at that time.

Liszt's national economic dominance and Bismarck's country need to take care of the people's political philosophy, coupled with Prussian militarism, combined with it, it was praised by some German socialists as "dynastic socialism". After the collapse of the Hohenzollern Dynasty, this kind ofism was also called "national socialism".

By the way: Prussian militarism, Lister's economic line and the social welfare promoted by Bismarck are actually trinity. The authoritarianism of Prussian militarism is the political basis for the promotion of Lesserism and social welfare, and the economic take-off brought to Germany by Listerism is the economic basis for militarism and social welfare. Finally, social welfare became the social basis for militarism and Listerism.

After Germany's defeat, Prussian militarism suffered heavy blows and was unable to maintain its original authoritarianism. Lister's economic proposition lost an important foundation. Moreover, the German economy was destroyed by the Treaty of Versailles and lost its economic foundation. Germany's social welfare system also collapsed. In the end, the power of Prussian militarism was insufficient, so naturally it could not suppress the workers' movement. The trinity-wide socialism completely collapsed, which caused the weakness and chaos of the Weimar Republic.

The consequence of the vigorous development of the workers' movement in the Weimar Republic was the growth of the German Bolshevik Party and the German National Socialist Workers' Party!

The reason for the economic miracle in the early days of the Nazis' coming to power was actually to combine the Nazi Party and Prussian militarism, form a new and powerful authoritarianism, and restore the "Tripe" national socialism.

"Dynastic socialism... is of course, I think we can call it national socialism." Hessman knew that the dynasty would soon be gone. He thought, "In addition, we also need Great Germanism and Europeanism. Great Germanism is to pursue the ultimate unity of Germany, which is the mission that the French-Prussian War has not been completed! The root of the current crisis lies in this. A split Germany is not enough to become the dominant force of Europe! And Europe lacking a dominant force will inevitably be weakened in constant internal friction, and will eventually be replaced by the new continent, and will always lose the power to lead the world."

Hessman concluded: "Stasi's guiding ideology is to revitalize and unify Germany with national socialism, and then lead Europe with a unified Germany, so that it can become a strong and united whole!"

"It sounds very attractive, at least I can't think of anything better!" Canaris nodded excitedly.

"That's it!" said Schragmiller, "Independent, huge, thoughtful... I'll mention one more thing, the mechanism needs to be mysterious!"

She thought, "The agency must keep it mysterious, invisible, intangible, but it is everywhere, which requires the implementation of the strictest confidentiality system! For example, everyone in the agency should try not to use their real name to show their names, but should be called by code names. The intelligence stations sent by the agency must be hidden. The agency must secretly develop informants in the country of Polo and Germany..."

"Yes," Canaris interjected. "The fear of unknown is the greatest fear. To make the enemy afraid, we must become mysterious and everywhere."

"Yes! There are enemies!"

Hessman said to the two intelligence geniuses with his eyes: "Stasi still needs enemies! The enemy can keep us united and keep improving!"

"Enemy? Who is the enemy?" asked Canaris.

“The free capitalism of the Anglo-American dominance of the world and the attempt to subvert our Bolsheviks!”
