Chapter 101 Let go of that girl
Everyone's eyes turned to Frank Miller, who was not very close to Hollywood.
"I think there is someone that is suitable, and there is no need to wait or delay the shooting." Frank Miller seemed to have thought about it when he came over. "There are a little girl on the set these days who often asks me about filming... Well, the question about the "Sin City" comics, she has a very quick mind, and I think she can give it a try."
Paul Wilson immediately thought of who it was, "Are you talking about David's sister?"
Frank Miller nodded, "This character doesn't need much good acting skills, as long as it's not nervous... I don't think that little girl will not be stage frightened."
Murphy and Erica Steinberg whispered in a low voice and waved to the front, "David, come here."
David Robbie put down the work at hand and walked over immediately. Murphy said a few simple words to him. David Robbie seemed a little embarrassed, "Maggie is a wild person, I don't guarantee she can agree."
"Try it." Murphy said to Bill Roses again, "You can contact us too to see if you can find the right person."
Having made a mistake once, Murphy certainly wouldn't continue to hang himself on a tree.
After leaving the shooting set, David Robbie soon found a bored sister playing handheld games in a corner of the studio.
"Let me go to act?" Margaret's face was full of surprise after hearing his retelling, "I haven't learned to act!"
"There's something wrong with the crew's little actor," David Robbie persuaded, "just let you go over and give it a try."
Margaret turned off the game console and seemed to be thinking very seriously.
David Robbie said again, "Just treat it as helping me."
Looking up at his brother, Margaret nodded slightly, "Okay then."
She followed David Robbie into the set and saw Murphy first. Murphy nodded to her, "Don't be nervous..."
Margaret shrugged, as carefree as before, "I'm never nervous."
"Jack, take Maggie to put on makeup." Murphy called her makeup artist over, "She is about the same figure as Nikki Milton, and her costume should be useful. I'll take it over after putting on makeup. I'll check the effect of putting on makeup."
When acting in a movie, you don’t just want to get a single person over. The girl Nancy is a close-up role, rather than a passerby who acts as a background board.
Murphy and his friends returned to the director's monitor to discuss the next step of shooting, and David Robbie followed.
He was still a little worried. As Murphy and his friends were suspended, he asked, "Murphy, is Maggie suitable? She has never learned to perform."
"I'll know soon." Murphy looked at the watch, "If it's not suitable, we don't force it."
About twenty minutes later, Margaret was taken out of the dressing room by Jack Watson. Her denim costume disappeared and changed into a light-colored double-shoulder dress. The blonde hair, which was casually combed into a ponytail, was also carefully cared for and scattered smoothly on her shoulders.
Compared to Nikki Milton, who had excellent audition results, Margaret's eyebrows were less weak and had a unique strength.
"Felix!"
Murphy greeted him, and Philip Raschel immediately asked his photography assistant to come over and brought Margaret to the camera lens. He operated the high-definition digital camera and gave Margaret different shots such as close-ups of his face, full body, long-range and close-ups. The shooting effect was also immediately transmitted to the director monitor on Murphy's side.
"Well..." Frank Miller nodded first after seeing it, "very good!"
Murphy has more than just preconceived ideas than Frank Miller, and this is the candidate he recommends, so he must support it as soon as possible.
After watching several shots next to each other, Murphy thought it was just OK. Margaret might be because of the temperament he developed since childhood. The effect of wearing makeup is not very good, nor is it too bad. According to the audition standards, it is only a passing score of 60.
"What do you think?" Murphy asked Erica Steinberg.
For a child actor, the crew has been delaying for almost a day. If possible, Erica Steinberg did not want to continue wasting time. He nodded and said, "It's okay to have makeup effects, try it."
Murphy pinched his chin and looked at Margaret in the camera again, then slapped his palm hard, "Everyone pay attention, try one!"
He left the director position and walked to the set, calling Robert Downey Jr. and Reese, who played the senator's son, over.
"Maggie, I'll take a test shot later." Murphy looked at the girl. "These two are your partners. He's Robert Downey Jr., and he's Reiser Oxson."
Both actors greeted Margaret friendly.
Margaret was not at all nervous, but just looked around curiously, standing in front of the green screen background and camera lens, which was completely different from watching outside.
"Maggie, you were taken away by Reese," Murphy seized the time to talk to Margaret, "and then rescued by Donny..."
After carefully explaining the character's requirements, he personally demonstrated Nancy's role movement. Margaret didn't need to move too much here, but there was a relatively simple position change.
Then, Robert Downey Jr. and Riser were asked to help Margaret get familiar with the movement.
Half an hour later, Murphy stood behind the director's monitor and said, "The test shot begins!"
Locke held Margaret and ran up the green screen arranged in a small pier shape. Robert Downey, a little trench coat, chased him with a pistol and blocked him on the bridge.
"Locke, surrender!" Donny pointed the gun in his hand at Reese, "Let that girl go!"
"You can't touch me, Hardy!" Lisse looked stern and weak, "You know who I am, you know my dad's identity, so you don't dare to touch me!"
"I don't care!"
Donnie pointed the gun in his hand at Liser. Liser screamed and fell to the ground, letting go of Margaret. Just as Murphy told me about the drill before, Margaret climbed to the edge of the "bridge", hid at a round green screen pier, and looked at the two people.
Filey Raschel's main camera immediately turned over and gave her a close-up.
Seeing this shot on the monitor screen, Murphy shook his head and shouted directly, "Stop!"
After shouting to stop the test, Murphy walked into the set and waved to Margaret, who looked confused and didn't know what was going on, "Maggie."
"Oh," Margaret stood up and walked over, "Is it my fault?"
She has been in the crew for several days and knew that the director called for a stop. Generally, there were problems with the shooting, and the one with the most problems was usually the actors.
Margaret was just a novice who was temporarily pulled over to try it out. Murphy called her over and said, "Maggie, what expression should a girl look like when she saw two men shooting each other with guns?"
"Excited? Fear?" Margaret asked in confusion.
"Yes, it's just fear." Murphy said as reminded, "You were not scared just now."
"I'm scared..." Margaret scratched her face and said in embarrassment, "I haven't been afraid for several years, so I have to think about it."
Murphy gave her ten minutes to find a feeling. After all, Margaret had never studied professional actors, and her shooting performance was still average after ten minutes. However, Bill Roses and Erica Steinberg did not contact other young actors who had auditions and could not find a suitable actor in a short period of time.
Children are an uncontrollable factor in the crew, which is recognized by all crews. Those young actors with good psychological qualities and some acting skills are scarce resources throughout Hollywood.
After hearing the news from Bill Rossis and Erica Steinberg, Murphy was so arrogant that Margaret's acting was indeed bad, but it was more suitable than Nikki Milton before. She was not at all stage frightened and didn't know what nervousness was.
Like Nikki Milton, he does have some acting skills. The problem is that his psychological quality is not up to standard. He performed well when he was auditioned against a camera and a few people. When he was in the real shooting surrounded by cameras on the set, he actually collapsed and could not continue to use it.
Fortunately, Margaret has no acting skills, but is a smart girl. She can find the problem from her mistakes. When she was testing the last time on this day, Murphy directly called for a pass. This one didn't need to be reshooted, and she could be used as post-production material.
Of course, this will only be used after the crew signs a contract with Margaret and her guardian David Robbie in the United States.
"Thank you two,"
Margaret was very good and polite to those who helped her. After the crew stopped, she specially found Robert Downey Jr. and Reiser Oxson, "I've dragged you down."
"It's okay." Faced with a girl's sincere thanks, the two of them just smiled.
At the end of the day's work, Murphy walked out of the studio and got into an electric car. Just as he was about to start and leave, a crisp voice stopped him, "Wait for me!"
Margaret leaned against the wall on the left side of the studio. After seeing Murphy, she walked over and got on the electric car.
"Is there anything wrong?" Murphy asked when he started the car.
He could see that Margaret was waiting for him.
"Yes," Margaret took off her backpack and put it on the seat next to her. "David has something to do, so I'll go to the door of the set first. Do you take me for a ride?"
The electric car was not fast and slowly drove towards the door of the Disney set. Murphy didn't speak, but just focused on driving.
"How do you think I'm doing today?" Margaret asked suddenly.
Murphy replied casually, "It's okay."
"I watched other people take photos a few days ago, but today I found that the performance was quite interesting." Margaret seemed to be interested. "In front of the camera, I suddenly became another person. It felt very special. I think it was more interesting than riding a horse in the farm."
