Chapter 18. Lu Yu's Book of Tea

I saw an ancient book in "butterfly dress" lying quietly on the silk cake in the tightly sealed glass cabinet.

Books are like women. Women wear bat suits, cool suits, and bikini suits. Then it is not uncommon for books to have "butterfly suits".

In fact, butterfly decoration is a special method of binding a book in thread, which Lin Yi has only seen in books before.

It turned out that long before the carving version appeared, most books were handwritten or copied. The hard-working people copied a book with their hands and strokes. Whether it was a book worth a thousand words or a book worth a hundred million words, they were all meticulous. If they copied it wrongly, they would be criticized. The most important thing was that there was no manuscript fee.

This kind of writing or copying can be written without any restrictions, one by one, and then connected, rolled up to form a scroll, or folded into a folded package.

After the carved and printed books appeared, in order to adapt to the requirements of large-scale engraving and unified binding, the printed side of the text is folded in half according to the middle seam of the book page, and then the middle seam is used to align each page of the book, stick it on another wrapping paper with paste, and finally cut it into a binding form of the book. The book bound into a book with "butterfly dress" will be like a butterfly flying and dancing when flipping through it, so it is called "butterfly dress".

Generally speaking, there are fewer ancient books in butterfly-dressed styles, and they are beautifully bound, especially precious. The collectors say: Butterfly-dressed styles are spreading their wings and flying, without asking about the quality, and the price is intensive. This means that, without considering the quality, butterfly-dressed thread-dressed books are very expensive and expensive.

Next to him, Sun Xiaomei was careful. Seeing that Lin Yi was interested in this ancient book, she said with great interest: "Brother Lin, don't underestimate this ancient book. Although it is a bit dilapidated, it is the treasure of our teahouse. It is the woodcut "Tea Classic" of the Hundred Rivers of the Ming Dynasty. It has been four or five hundred years since then... This treasure was bought by our boss for about 100,000 yuan. When he bought it, he didn't sell it. I don't know how much good things our boss said, but he just ceded it..." The words were very precious, but more of them were sighing. Maybe in her opinion, she really couldn't see how such an old book was worth so much money.

Lin Yi’s reading is complicated and he also knows a little about the knowledge of the Tea Classic.

"Tea Classic" is the first ancient Chinese tea book written by Lu Yu in the Tang Dynasty, and it is also the world's first special book on tea. It is divided into three volumes and ten chapters, with a total of more than 7,000 words. It involves the origin of tea, tea making tools, tea making process, tea making utensils, tea making methods, tea tasting appreciation and other aspects, and has a huge impact on the tea art of later generations.

There are many versions of the "Tea Classic". From the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China, there have been more than 60 versions of the "Tea Classic" that have been published in history. However, which version of the "Tea Classic" was first published, and there was no conclusion in the academic community in the past. However, a scholar has carefully compared the more than 50 versions of the "Tea Classic" at home and abroad, and confirmed that the Song-engraved "Tea Classic" is now collected in the rare ancient book department of the National Library of China. It is the earliest "Tea Classic" in the nine years of Xianchun in the Southern Song Dynasty, and it has been 731 years since then. She compared the "Tea Classic" with the "Tea Classic" in the Japanese Palace Books and Tombs, the "Tea Classic" in the Ming Dynasty, and the Song-Huachuan version of the Taoyuanjing of the Republic of China, and the changes and origins of the later publications.

The Song Dynasty version of the "Tea Sutra" is hidden in the national map and cannot be found. Then the "Tea Sutra" in the Ming Dynasty is undoubtedly the most expensive treasure. In fact, even Japanese Hexa versions are rare. It is said that at a recent large-scale auction, a "Tea Sutra" from Japan was sold at a high price of tens of thousands of yuan. In comparison, the "Tea Sutra" in the Ming Dynasty is priced at a price of more than 10,000 or even hundreds of thousands of yuan.

Lin Yi looked carefully, and Guo Zixing beside him encouraged: "Xiaomei, don't just talk about it but don't practice. Such a good thing is just through the glass to see how you enjoy it. Why not take it out and let us brother enjoy it... He is a real old book fan. As long as he sees any ancient book version, he can't move away."

What Guo Zixing said is half true and half false. Although Lin Yi likes old books, most of them are worthless old books on street stalls. How could he have ever come into contact with any ancient book version? This old Guo brags about not paying taxes and insists on pushing Lin Yi to the library collectors. Lin Yi cannot expose his cowhide in person.

The reason why this valuable ancient book "Tea Classic" is placed in such a conspicuous place is originally a show. According to the teahouse owner's meaning, this thing is placed here to make the teahouse look high-end, connotation, culture and tasteful. For four hundred years, which one has this kind of thing, even if it has it, it is a fake.

So the boss told me that as long as there are customers who want to see, try to meet their requirements and promote our teahouse by the way. Of course, you must be careful when viewing and must not be damaged.

Because of this, Sun Xiaomei also has a key to open the glass cabinet. She carried this key with her when she was at work and handed over it after get off work. She did a good job in handing over the work and had even more strict security work.

At this moment, at the instigation of Guo Zixing, Sun Xiaomei had already taken out the key and opened the glass cabinet. It was too late for Lin Yi to stop him, and he was really curious about what this ancient book looked like.

"Be careful, don't break it." Sun Xiaomei carefully handed the ancient book "Tea Sutra" to Lin Yi, and couldn't help but whisper.

Lin Yi nodded with a solemn expression, holding the ragged ancient book like a treasure. He opened the title page with great effort, and saw that it read: "Tea Classic", written by Lu Hongjian of Tang Dynasty; preface to the tea classics, written by Pi Rixiu of Tang Dynasty---According to the "Zhou Li", the position of wine chief, debate the four drinks of drinks, the third is called "Ji". The position of a man of the silencing man, offering six drinks to the king: water, wine, sweet, cool, doctor, ginger, enter the wine palace...

Just as Lin Yi was looking through it carefully, a strong tea fragrance suddenly floated out of this ancient book, and leisurely penetrated into Lin Yi's nose, followed by a familiar and comfortable feeling throughout his body.

Damn, come again?

Lin Yi remembered the "Wu Song Fighting the Tiger" that he almost drank last night. He wanted to put down the ancient book in his hand, but he was a little reluctant. Finally, he became dark and even raised the book slightly to block the sight of Guo and Sun next to him, and then felt the breath filled with tea fragrance... slowly, he absorbed and melted these breaths and turned them into one.

Originally, after Lin Yi sucked the faint fragrance of books, the essence of the whole book began to slowly integrate into his body. At this moment, he felt an indescribable numbness in his nose. Lin Yi resisted the urge to rub it with his hands and closed his eyes tightly.

If this were the case, someone could see two wisps of small green smoke waving back and forth on his nose, but in just a few seconds, it retracted into Lin Yi's nose and disappeared.

Guo Zixing and Sun Xiaomei didn't know that Lin Yi was greedily ingesting the tea fragrance overflowing from ancient books, and he thought he was reading it seriously. In particular, Guo Zixing was even more surprised, thinking that this guy really understood the ancient book version and underestimated him?

In fact, Guo Zixing instigated Sun Xiaomei to show Lin Yi this ancient book, which was not without profound meaning. His meaning was very simple. Let Lin Yi know that the things that have lasted for hundreds of years are only tens of thousands, and just your 1 million paintings from the 1950s, isn’t it a bit dreaming?

But the current situation makes Lin Yi a little unfathomable, and Guo Zixing is a little undecided.

...

I don’t know how long it took, but the fragrance of books dissipated. Lin Yi found that he had returned to his smooth breathing and all the strange phenomena that had just happened disappeared.

The numb and itchy nose has disappeared, replaced by an indescribable pleasure, just like a comfortable sweat steam in the sauna, cleaning the whole body with greasiness, and it is like drinking a bowl of iced sour plum soup in the summer, refreshing, cold and refreshing. The cool breath from the nose makes Lin Yi feel a sense of floating, unlike in the human world.

"Ahem, Brother Lin, this book is good. Judging from your reading so seriously, what will you gain?"

An ethereal voice that seemed to be far away in the sky awakened Lin Yi from his indulgence, instantly knocking Lin Yi back to the ground from the clouds. He opened his eyes reluctantly, and Lin Yi was startled by Guo Zixing's big face full of question marks.

Then, Sun Xiaomei next to her looked at her with her eyes wide open, stretching her hands in the air, and acting like she could pick up books at any time, looking at her fear of destroying the precious ancient book.

Seeing this, Lin Yi hurriedly returned the ancient book in his hand carefully, and then said to Guo Zixing: "This book---is good!"

There are four words in total, with profound meanings.

Guo Zixing and Sun Xiaomei looked at each other and understood that the book was very valuable, so it was good; but I didn’t know that Lin Yi had a deeper meaning.

Sun Xiaomei seemed to be a treasure. She held the dilapidated ancient book "Tea Sutra" in her hand, carefully put it back on its original position, and then locked the glass cabinet very finely and pulled it. Seeing that it was nothing, it locked it tightly, she took a deep breath, and even had sweat stains on her forehead and sideburns.

Guo Zixing looked at his watch and it was almost time, but the person he wanted to introduce to Lin Yi has not arrived yet. Alas, women, they always have the temper of a young lady, and it is inevitable that they like to be late, but they can't always take Lin Yi around, so it's better to go back to the private room.

Thinking of this, Guo Zixing asked Lin Yi to go upstairs, and Sun Xiaomei also said that the private room upstairs was very comfortable and she would arrange the waiter to serve them.

Guo Zixing joked: "You can serve today, why are you called a waiter? Why? Can't you serve as a lobby manager?"

It turned out that Sun Xiaomei had only been promoted to manager for a few days and used to serve. Guo Zixing said this, but she was not annoyed. She just said that she would see if there were many customers later. If not, she would go to the private room to pour tea and water for Brother Guo...

Seeing that she was so tactful, Guo Zixing was embarrassed to tease her again, so he joked and went upstairs with Lin Yi, but he didn't know that in the tightly defended glass cabinet, the ancient book "Tea Classic" was slowly drying out and aging...
