Chapter 17 The Chamber of Secrets

"I don't understand what you are talking about." Chester said with a cold face and gritted his teeth. "There are too many loopholes in your stupid story, and it only makes people laugh. Everyone knows how much I love Betty, and they also know that Neo is my best brother. Do you think I will hurt them for your mouth? I would rather hurt myself than they suffer a little grievance."

"Well said, but it's meaningless." Panis sneered a few times and said, "I'll show you an interesting illusion. How about it, dear Mr. Chester, are you interested in watching it?"

"Hmph, keep pretending." Chester said to Pannis with his hands on his chest and seemed calm. "I want to see what other shit do you do. If you want to perform, just act, idiot."

"Okay." Panis nodded, "Linna, you have a door on your left. Push it open the cabinet behind the door. There will be a basement entrance on the floor. Let's explore the secrets in the basement."

"That's the workshop where I made the traps." Chester said without panic at all, leaning against the pillars of the room. "What do you want to find there? Pliers or anvils? Or is your illusion to show my forging furnace to everyone?"

"I've come into the basement, which is indeed a workshop." Lina's cold voice came from the ground: "But as he said, there is nothing in it except these tools and half-docked traps."

"Don't worry," said Penis. "The performance has just begun. Orgasm? How can the climax appear so quickly."

"You'd better hurry up. If it's too slow, I can't guarantee whether the person I'm looking for can hold on." Lina's voice paused and added: "Of course. Her life and death have nothing to do with me, but I don't have that much patience to wait for you."

"Okay, okay, I get it." Panis sighed and spread his hands to everyone and said, "The unfair lady below is already anxious, so let's get to the point. I wonder if the three of you have the courage to go down with me to explore this mysterious basement? Well, dear Mr. Chester. As the most courageous hunter in town, you will definitely not refuse."

"Mr. Adventurer. Are you saying true?" Old Dark, who had been silent, suddenly rushed up, grabbed Pennis's clothes and shook, "Betty, Betty, she, she. She is really underneath, and she is still alive?"

"I'm 80% sure she's still alive." Panis did not blame Lao Dake for his rudeness, and still kept a faint tone: "As for whether she is really down there, just go down with me and take a look."

"Okay, I'll go down." Old Dark changed his old age before, and as if he had changed his own person, he quickly climbed down the basement along the ladder. Pennis stared at Chester with his eyes tightly and made a gesture of inviting him. Chester's face looked very ugly, he glanced around, and finally snorted heavily. He climbed down the ladder.

The basement was originally pitch black, but after Lina came down, she had already lit up the oil lamp on the wall as soon as possible. The dim light shot out from the lamp, making the entire basement hazy. Looking around, you can see that there were many metal ingots piled up in the corner. There were also some scattered molds. In the middle of the basement was a small forging furnace. The forging furnace has not been lit now, and it was a piece of black inside. There were many molten and casting and forging tools in front of the forging furnace, and there was a workbench next to it, with many knives, scissors and broken leather on it. It was indeed a workroom for making traps.

"You all saw it, there is nothing here." Chester gritted his teeth and looked aggrieved: "How much do you want to slander me? Don't think that you can just get someone else's charges if you are an adventurer."

"Don't worry, be a little patient. Also, do you really think your pitiful arrangement can escape the observation of an explorer?" Panis smiled mysteriously and said to Lina: "Lina, have you ever carefully observed the structure of the forging furnace before? Especially this old-fashioned forging furnaces that use coal as fuel."

"Who will observe that kind of thing without any trouble?" Lina held the book and said angrily: "It's nothing more than a pile of ashes inside."

"But, maybe there's a different forging." Panis raised his chin toward the forging in the middle of the basement: "For example, if you check it, you might find unexpected gains, such as an underground secret room hidden in the basement."

"Swish, so that's how it is." Lina sneered with her nose, and went to the forging furnace to look: "How to crack this."

"Little trap." Panis's attention seemed to have not been focused here, he was just talking and did nothing, but his eyes remained silently on Chester: "It's fine in the easiest way."

"Is the easiest way?" Lina took off the mace from her waist, and after a few prayers, the white light of the magic technique covered her arms and mace. After the white light passed, she swung the mace heavily at the forging furnace. The mace hammer hit the forging furnace with huge force. The impact caused people to have the illusion that the entire basement was vibrating. Under the hammer, the solid forging furnace was smashed into pieces, revealing a dark hole below. The space below the hole was very deep, and it was pitch black inside. Only a long ladder could be seen extending downwards and sank into the dark space.

"You go down and have a look." Panis said: "Maybe you can save her, well, maybe it's just."

"It depends on your mood. If you don't have trouble, it's okay to save it. If you are troublesome, don't think I will save you." Lina took the lantern handed over by Panis and hung it on her waist, climbed down the ladder, leaving only the last sentence that echoed in the basement.

Just as Lina crawled down, Chester finally couldn't bear it anymore. He was so clever that he did not attack Panis and Lina, nor did he run away, but suddenly rushed towards Old Dark, and had already pulled out a protective dagger from his waist on the way. Penis still didn't move, but just looked at Chester's last madness quietly, as if he had no concern about whether Old Dark was kidnapped. Chester successfully approached the old man, and was secretly happy in his heart. The dagger was hanging on the old man's neck, but the next moment, he suddenly felt a dizzy turn. The man had been thrown to the ground heavily. Old Dark, who had been trembling before, was stepping on him and staring at him fiercely.

"Silly young man." Panis shrugged and said without surprise: "This is the price of looking down on the older generation. Do you really think that you are the most powerful hunter in the younger generation, so you can underestimate the older generation? Haha, it's so naive."

"Thank you, Mr. Adventurer." As he got closer and closer to his daughter, Old Dark gradually calmed down. He kicked the dagger in Chester's hand and stepped on Chester's neck and said: "If you hadn't exposed him, everyone would have been deceived by him."

"Don't thank me." Panis waved his hand: "Actually, the people he played for were our old opponents. I didn't expect to find their traces here. This was an unexpected gain. Dear Mr. Chester, you must be very unwilling to give up. The plan was almost successful. And I guess you are very confused now, how did we see through your arrangements, right? Hehe, I can only say that you really underestimate high-level professionals. In fact, from the beginning, Catherine and I have great doubts about you."

"Don't believe it? It doesn't matter. We need some time to wait. You can say it slowly." Panis's smile on his face was like a demon at this time. He said to Chester, who was curled up on the ground and was trampled. "The ignorant girl who was restricted by her father ran away from home with her beloved lover. As a result, she met a monster on the way and eventually died together. There was nothing doubtful about this, but there were several details that had to be noticed."

"First, have you seen someone leave a note for his family before running away from home, and keep it in his bedroom? And I asked specifically whether she would leave it in the drawer of her dressing table. Does she want her father to see it or not? If she doesn't want to be seen, wouldn't it be better if she doesn't leave a note? You can ask you to send the message to the end, just like you are in your design. If it's like being seen, it shouldn't be put into the drawer, so there may be problems here."

"Secondly, the things in Nao's house are neatly packed. You should have cleaned them up, but you ignored his beast bar. If he had been ready to run away from home, then the common items of the two sled deer he paid the most would have been packed up early, but what about the actual situation? The movement traces of many items in the beast bar are obviously new, and they are not as neat as in the house. It is easy to see that they decided to leave temporarily. Why didn't you organize the beast bar? Well, I understand, it should be because it is outside, so it is easy for neighbors to find it if it is sorted out."

"These two points will induce our suspicion, and once doubt appears, it will be difficult to control it. So, when checking the Ner's house, based on the reduction of items, Catherine inferred that when Neo set out, he only slacked off one portion of food, and the number of other items carried was not right. When checking Betty, she only took away her own belongings and did not make any preparations for the long-distance trip. This is not considered running away from home, she went to the wilderness to die in a blizzard, so her suspicion about this matter became even more serious."
