Chapter 5 A Midsummer Night's Dream
Catherine felt that she had a dream, a very short dream. In the dream, she lay on the green lawn, and her nose smelled the elegant fragrance of deer tail flowers. The cool night breeze washed away her fatigue and pain. In the dream, the once strong self seemed to be filled with indescribable grievances and unwillingness. She leaned weakly in a man's arms and cried, allowing the man to coax himself to fall asleep. In the hazy, the man seemed to keep whispering some special things in his ear, strange, what was it? It seemed to be the experience of many ancestors when they advanced.
"Who is this man? He is really a person without interest. Is this environment and such a situation meant to say these?" Catherine complained in the dream center: "No matter what, I am also a woman. At this time, shouldn't I say some romantic words to comfort me? How could I think of saying these messy things?"
"These are very important. Each one is a valuable experience that most people will never pass on in their lives. If it is the self who is awake, you should listen very carefully." Catherine thought in a daze: "But I'm already asleep, it's just a dream. This kind of life is too tiring. My shoulders are so heavy. I want to let go of everything and have a good rest, but I can't. Only by standing straight at every moment can they support this harbor of their souls. If I can't keep up, Lina, Vivian, and Panis, their road to salvation will probably be even more difficult. I don't have a chance to rest."
"Whose eyes are...? So familiar." In the dream, Catherine seemed to have a pair of eyes in the night sky in front of her. Her eyes were very familiar, as if she could see it every day. The eyes were very gentle. It was like the breeze on a summer night, with the power to calm people's hearts, which made her heart peaceful.
"Sleep, go to bed." Catherine heard a vague voice echoing in her ears, and her voice was warm and soft, a familiar and friendly voice: "Let go of all the burden on her shoulders and have a good rest. After rest, when you wake up, you are still the knight who is carrying the fate of your friends. You are still the Catherine."
"I don't have a chance to rest." Catherine replied silently in her heart: "But this is in a dream, it doesn't matter if she secretly rests in a dream for a while, it should...it's OK...it's only...it's a while."
So, Catherine slept deeper. She was so deep that she felt that she had another dream. In the dream, she seemed to have returned to her childhood, waving a wooden sword in her hand, being held in her arms by her mother, walking in the courtyard. Her young father was still with her mother, and her smile on her face was filled with happiness and satisfaction.
"Ah, ah." Catherine, who had just spoken, happily waved the wooden sword in her hand. She pointed to the two tall and one short oak trees in the courtyard and said childishly: "Dad, mom, I. Haha, ah."
"Baby is so smart." The mother smiled brightly and kissed her forehead: "That means our oak trees, we must be together like them."
The strong father gently hugged the mother and daughter tightly together, and the three of them raised their heads and looked at the lush canopy of the oak tree.
The dream continued, and Catherine returned to the summer night after the rain. That night that was unforgettable for life. After the hard practice of fighting skills during the day, the young Catherine was exhausted. But she still had to sit on the chair in an elegant sitting position and listen carefully to the evening tutor's course. The course continued until the rapid knock on the door brought bad news from her parents. Catherine still remembered that she did not cry at that time. She listened to the rest of the course in a posture that was most in line with the noble etiquette and politely sent away the tutor with complicated expressions. As for what happened next, she could not remember it no matter what. Even in the dream, she was still desperate and dark.
In the dream, the young Catherine finally joined a temporary adventure group. The first mission was to clear the low-level monsters around the nearby villages and retrieve the lost goods of the merchants. The adventure group composed of eight young boys and girls with good relationships successfully completed the task and retrieved all the goods on the list, but someone was moved by a ring in the lost goods. It was common for the goods on the list to suffer a slight loss. It was within the scope of the client's acceptable, but Catherine firmly stopped this behavior. The disgusting eyes of her teammates made her feel deeply stinging in her heart, but even though these friends had never contacted her again, even if she lost more friends and partners because of this persistence, she refused to lower her head and refused to let go of her persistence and belief.
In the dream, the young Catherine saw the thin body again, her dry hands clutching a staff tightly, and she staggered on the road, falling down again and again. In a trance, Catherine heard the low and strange words, like a syllable and syllable saying: "Go away, I don't need anyone to support me, I am a genius, I can do this little thing alone."
"I won't help you, but I'll be with you. I'll pull you up when you fall."
In the dream, Catherine saw the silver-haired girl again, and the gaze shot out from the darkness. The eyes contained endless suspicion and fear, and fear of strangeness and light.
"Don't be afraid, I've been guarding you here. As long as you want, you can hold my hand at any time and hold it forever."
In the dream, Catherine saw the past years, with happiness, sweetness, warmth, and pain. No matter what the taste is, it is beautiful and unforgettable and cannot bear to lose.
"Sure enough, protecting this beauty is what I should do." Catherine in the dream smiled softly: "For this protection, I must keep going and never be afraid."
With a moan, Katherine woke up from her dream.
"Where am I?" As confusion and awakening alternating, Catherine opened her eyes. When she opened her eyes, Catherine suddenly felt that the world was different. The stars shone in the dark sky, but now in Catherine's eyes, each star was particularly bright, just like a layer of fog was covered in the past, but now when she woke up, the fog had dissipated.
"Is it an illusion?" Catherine just thought this way and denied it herself, because she found that not only the world in front of her has changed. Everything in her perception has changed. The grass under her body gently patted her body in the wind. Even through her clothes, she could keenly determine which grass touched her from which angle. The fragrance of the deer tail flowers in the distance is still so elegant, but she could easily distinguish which flowers are the fragrance of which grass is the fragrance of grass. In her ears, the sound of the world has become richer. The sound of the grass growing, the sound of leaves falling, and the sound of insects crawling on the trees is particularly clear. It is so clear that she even doubts why she has never noticed before.
There was something very soft under his head, and it seemed a little familiar. What was this? Catherine turned her head strangely and saw Lina's eyes with a peaceful smile.
"You finally woke up. My sister." Lina gently stroked Catherine's black hair and said softly: "You said that I can hold your hand at any time. It's too late to regret it now."
"You can always hold it." Catherine held Lina's fair hand, with a gentle smile from the bottom of her heart: "Don't worry, no matter how difficult or setbacks I encounter, I will never be like this in the past. Forgive me for being selfish. My impatience has made me never consider your feelings at all. Sorry, I worry you."
"I'm fine, I believe you can figure it out, sister. This little temporary setback won't make you fall down." Lina said with a smile: "However, there is a fool who is worried and she cried several times."
"Then she is such a fool." Catherine sat up and saw the fool she said.
When Katherine was sleeping, she kept pillowing on Lina's thighs, just like Lina was usually pillowing on her legs. Vivian was holding Katherine's thighs tightly and sleeping beside Katherine. Her paralyzed body made her not move after falling asleep, so Vivian kept maintaining this position and her saliva flowed to Katherine's clothes.
"Where are they?" Catherine poked Vivian's face like a prank, lowered her voice and asked, "Are you in the house?"
"No, Panis was taking a group of kids in the open air in the backyard." Lina, who was sitting on the oak tree, unceremoniously classified the maid sisters as children's category: "But now, I'm probably chasing Freya. By the way, enthusiasm and indulgence have also come, saying that they are here to thank him, huh, I think their purpose is not that pure. Rachel and Nicole have also come, but when they see the scene in the backyard, they run back to get the ingredients. It seems very lively tonight, hehe."
"Well, it's so embarrassing." Catherine blushed and covered her face with her hands, "Not everyone knows my ugly appearance?"
"My dear sister, you have been sleeping for three days." Lina teased: "They didn't see anything before, only the four of us know. What they saw was that you slept for three days because of overwork. This explanation was Panis's idea."
"That's fine." Catherine finally felt relieved: "Thank you so much."
"It's time to thank him." Lina sighed and whispered: "If it weren't for him telling us before, we wouldn't know how serious the state was in the previous period. You don't know it yourself. If you didn't figure it out, you might never have the possibility of hitting the legend again in your life, and even the lifespan would be greatly shortened due to depression in the second half of your life."
"So serious? I really don't know it myself." Catherine was stunned for a while before she let out a sigh of fear: "But let's just thank you. Many things between us and him are no longer enough to thank you."
"Hey, the first batch of meat is baked, come and eat together. Yo, you're awake and you've been sleeping for three days." Panis, who walked around from the backyard, looked at Catherine who had just woken up in her dream. Her pupils shrank, and her expression slowly became weird: "How is it like seeing a new world in front of you? It's very novel."
"How do you know?" Catherine asked in surprise. "What's going on?"
