Chapter 30: The scene of escapism(1/2)

In the next few days, although Pierre, who had a bruised nose and swollen face, was resentful, but he still honestly rode his horse on duty and did not take any laziness anymore.

No one else—either the coachman or Dusak dared to slack off any more.

As we were getting closer and closer to home, everyone was home, and the whip in their hands became much stronger unconsciously.

It no longer rains upstream, and the Pangtuo River has returned to its former water level. The convoy no longer detours Xiaoshi Town, but still crosses the river on the shortest route.

...

"One!" The old handlebar type shouted at the top of his lungs: "Two!"

The young men around the big car grabbed the body of the car and lifted it up desperately: "Three!"

Accompanied by the sound of the trumpet, the cart that could not move was lifted up because the wheels were stuck in the cracks of the rocks.

The old car handlebar saw this opportunity and waved his whip. The three mules and horses were in pain and dragged the cart toward the other side of the river.

Unlike walking on a bridge, it is a troublesome and hard work to walk through the shallows by a large car.

Under the river, it is not a solid road, but a smooth pebbles. Not only does the wheels not hold on to the food, but the animals' hooves are also unable to step on, which is particularly easy to get hurt.

When they arrived at the side of the stalker, the convoy took off the animal from the yoke and used several horses to lead a car across the river at the same time.

In addition to the horse-driving coach, other younger Dusak and hired workers also had to take off their shoes, roll up their trousers, and shout horns around the cart to push them.

This job is too hard and people of older age can't stand it, only young people can do it.

Pierre was in the verge of the siege and just pushed the cart back and forth a few times, and his whole body was wet with sweat mixed with the river.

The river water in autumn is cold and cold, and it can instantly take away all the warmth of people. After catching a cold feet, Mr. Michelle felt unbearable pain in his lower abdomen.

The convoy set off several fires on the shore, and there were coachmen and Dusak baking clothes to warm up.

Pierre wanted to go over and rest, but remembered Mr. Mitchell's grudges and scolding. His stubbornness also came up, and he gritted his teeth and continued to help push the cart with pain.

After several hours of busyness, the convoy has only passed halfway.

Gillard and Winters discussed it and decided that Winters would take a few rides to gather the cart in front and choose a place to camp to prevent them from getting separated.

Gillard took another part to the back team to urge them to speed up.

After crossing the Pangtuo River, it was less than a day away from Langtun Town. Winters and Gillard were worried that some coachmen would be eager to go home, so they left the convoy and returned to Langtun Town overnight.

Not only is it dangerous, it may even disperse the entire fleet.

The two teams of riders rushed forward and rear respectively, and half of the big cars had already walked far across the river, and the trampoline became much deserted.

The fatigue and cold made the people carrying cars in the river unable to even shout.

Pierre's navel was getting more and more painful, as if thousands of knives were cutting and stabbing, and he held his knee and gasped in the river.

"Boy, is it okay?" Sergey wades over and takes his shoulders with her: "What's wrong?"

"It's okay, my stomach hurts." Pierre kept shaking.

"Go and go to the shore to roast for a fire and have some hot soup."

The two walked to the other side of the river together, and Pierre suddenly grabbed the old Sergei's arm: "Uncle, is there something wrong on the shore?"

As early as when he was working, Pierre had noticed something strange because he was always looking at the fire unconsciously.

There are a few new faces among the people who are cooking on the shore.

Xiaomi Michelle's memory is his mother's memory, and he will not forget it all, but at least he will leave an impression. He also knows this advantage.

But he had no impression of the innocent faces on the shore. He had never seen those people in the convoy.

However, when they were also out, it was common for passers-by to come over to ask for hot soup to drink. Those raw faces didn't stay for a long time, so they sat by the fire for a while before leaving.

So Pierre didn't have much trouble, just took a care of himself.

But at this moment, Pierre found that those "familiar" faces not only returned to the fire, but also more faces appeared on the shore.

Pierre leaned against Sergei's ear and spoke quickly and told Sergei everything.

Sergei's expression became gloomy, and Old Dusak held the sabre and shouted at the shore: "Hey! Those guys, what are you doing?"

Several innocent faces on the shore pretended not to call themselves at first, but Old Dusak shouted several times, leaving them with no way to hide.

"We are driving the cart." The people answered.

Others also gradually discovered that the atmosphere was abnormal, and several quick-minded Dusak approached their war horses calmly.

"Why have I never seen you before?!" Sergei asked sternly.

No one answered.

The silence was dead in the straits, with only the gurgling rivers.

"Kill!" A raw face lifted his cloak, turned around and stabbed it into the belly of the driver next to him.

The coachman opened his eyes in horror, and a "hoho" sound came from his throat, and he couldn't even scream for a moment.

"Kill!!!" Seeing that he could not get away with it, several other innocent faces simply tore through the disguise and pulled out their weapons to chop at the Langtun people around him.

The sudden killing, blood and death, and the drastic changes caught most coachmen and Dusak off guard.

The shouts of killing were like the horn of an attack, and more figures in the woodlands on both sides of the Turbulent River were quickly approaching the stumbling ground.

"They are bandits!" Sergei cursed the Langtun people who were still stunned: "Grass! Go get the weapons! Dusak! Get the horse!"

Pierre was about to take a step, but the severe pain in his lower abdomen made him unable to move.

Sergei, who had run a few meters away, turned back and ran to the place where the horse was tied up on the shore with Xiaomi Michel.

"Get on horses! Get on horses!" Old Sergei shouted while running, and Dusaks in the river ran towards their war horses.

Several coachmen tried their best to pull the horse, trying to break through the sect. Some coachmen also wanted to turn around in panic, but couldn't move.

The stolen sect was in chaos at this time, with only a few coachmen and hired workers jumping into big cars for weapons, and everyone else was running away.

The sound of the bowstring vibrating came from the bushes on both sides of the river bank, accompanied by the "swish-swish-swish-swish-swish-swinging" sound of breaking through the air, and arrows flew over the water.

"Arrowman!" someone screamed.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! "There is a crossbowman in the forest!" someone shouted.

A coachman had just found a longbow from under the seat of the car, and before he could even put the bow on it, he was penetrated by a short and thick crossbow arrow. The brave wolf town man covered his neck and fell into the knee-deep river from the cart.

Sergei pointed to the banks of the river and shouted: "Another thief is coming!"

When Pierre saw bandits holding weapons and ragged clothes emerge from the bush, he couldn't count how many people were.

Some bandits ran towards the cart and robbed all kinds of good goods bought from Revodan on the cart. Some bandits robbed Dusak and tied to the shore of war horses - war horses are even more valuable.

There were also bandits who specifically chased and arrested horse riders wearing good clothes. Those people were the owners of the manor, not only carrying huge sums of money, but also kidnapped for ransom.

Even if a well-trained army encounters a raid, it is difficult to organize an effective counterattack, not to mention that most of the people in the Wolf Town convoy are just tenant farmers.

The command structures of both sides have been disabled during the melee.

But the bandits have a clear purpose. They want money and goods, and they will kill whoever resist. They have stronger subjective initiative.

However, the people of Wolf Town were in a mess, everyone fought with their own plans, and only a few brave people tried to fight back.

But when most people are running away, the brave become the most conspicuous target and are often killed by bandits.

Many bandits were attracted by Sergei's war horse Chiyanghong, and several thugs holding spears had already run to Chiyanghong.

In desperation, Sergei let go of Pierre and roared at the spear thug.

"Ah!" The bandit who was behind failed to react and was chopped on the shoulder by Old Dusak.

Sergei kicked the thug who had almost been cut off on half of his shoulder. He didn't look at the guy who was sure to die for the second time, and swung his sabre and killed several other bandits.

Even though he grew up listening to war stories, Pierre did not expect that his uncle, who was over fifty years old, was so fierce.

He gritted his teeth and reluctantly picked up the spear that the thug fell on the ground and rushed forward.

The bandits who heard their companions screamed turned around and saw Old Dusak and stabbed the old man with a spear.

Sergei seized the opportunity and grabbed it with his left hand, and he grabbed the spear tightly. He dragged it behind him and killed the enemy with a knife.

But two fists are hard to match four hands. When Sergei grabbed the spear and slashed one person, another bandit held a spear and yelled at Old Dusak.

Seeing that the bandit was about to succeed, Pierre was slamming into his waist by the following Pierre. He fell to the ground, and Old Dusak turned around and slashed heavily, cutting his head off.

The remaining two robbers were so scared that their hands and feet were numb by the god-like killing old Dusak. They threw away their weapons and fled in panic.

Sergei quickly helped Pierre to Chiyanghong: "Let's go! Go back! Go find your father!"

"I won't leave!" Pierre shouted.

Old Dusak didn't say nonsense: "If you don't leave, stay and kill the enemy. Follow me along the river bank to kill those crossbowmen!"

The balance of victory has completely turned to the bandits, and the situation has become a one-sided pursuit.

The crossbowmen on the shore shot at the Wolf Town people unscrupulously, and the bandits in the stumbling field were chasing the drivers. Dusak and his friends fought each other. Dusak, who had regained the horses, fled towards the front and rear of the convoy.

Some manor owners were panicked and ran towards the woods, but they didn't realize that they were falling into the trap of bandits. There was still a glimmer of life when they rushed out along the road, and escaping into the forest was to fall into the trap.

At this level, anyone who still wants to resist is only a deep sense of powerlessness and despair left in his heart.

An old gray-haired carriage rolled up to the river bank and stumbled towards the direction of Wolf Town.
