407. Disappearing Gaunt Ring

Just when Bella successfully got the locket from Black's house, Malfoy also brought a group of Death Eaters to Little Hungerton Town.

The address Peter brought out from Voldemort's mouth was not easy to find.

Little Hangton is a small town of Muggles, and the old house of Gunter, as the wizard's residence, obviously will not be built in the Muggles' gathering place.

Malfoy's team of Death Eaters searched near the town for nearly a day, and finally found an ancient and dilapidated house four or five kilometers away from Little Hangerton.

The walls of the house are covered with moss, many tiles on the roof have fallen, and the rafters inside are exposed here or there.

There were dense nettles around them, and tall nettles were all the way to the windows. The windows were very small and filled with thick aged dirt.

The most conspicuous one was the dead snake nailed on the door that had turned into a specimen.

"It's here, this house is exactly in line with the owner's description."

Peter is naturally with Malfoy.

He was the first person to hear Voldemort tell the story directly, and the Black family's ancestral home can also allow Bella, who is a former member of the Black family, to pass by.

Peter must follow Gunter's old house, a place that is unfamiliar with them.

After obtaining Peter's confirmation, Malfoy took the lead in pushing open the wooden door that seemed to fall down with just one push.

A choking wave of ash suddenly came to his face, causing Malfoy, who was usually pampered, to cover his mouth and nose, to frown.

There were some furniture piled up inside that had been broken for unknown amounts of time, and the tops and floors of each item were covered with dust.

"Which family's house is this? I guess it's been a decades since I lived in it?"

A Death Eater muttered, but no one answered his question.

Instead of entering the house, Peter stood at the door and directed the Death Eaters.

"Search quickly, don't care whose house this is. We are here to find things, not archaeology!"

None of the Death Eaters here is the one who escaped from Azkaban, otherwise Peter would not dare to speak so arrogantly.

Malfoy also walked into the house, but instead of searching around like other Death Eaters, he squatted on the ground and frowned at something.

Peter stood in front of the door and always felt that the dead snake nailed to the door seemed to be looking at him with an empty gaze.

He couldn't help but slammed and walked to Malfoy.

"What are you looking at?"

Malfoy pointed at the dusty ground.

"When we came in, there was a long trace here."

Peter felt Malfoy's words strange and looked around.

"You mean someone had been here before we came?"

Malfoy narrowed his eyes and shook his head.

"Looking carefully, this is not a human footprint, but something slid over from here."

The trace he pointed at was not obvious, because the trace was not without dust, but the dust was very shallow, far less than the feeling of time elsewhere.

"Ah, we found a trace, something unusual, but what's the use?"

Peter said impatiently.

Since he came to this old house, he has been a little restless and has not shown much patience.

Malfoy stood up and clapped his hands.

"Maybe it has no effect, or maybe it is related to our life and death."

He said casually, then he no longer paid attention to this spot on the ground, but looked at the Death Eaters who were searching for the ring.

This old house is not big, and it can even be said to be a pocket-sized compared to the Malfoy family's house.

Several Death Eaters rummaged through the cabinets for a long time, and basically searched all of them.

"No one found the ring?" Peter asked in disbelief.

The final result was not smooth, and the Death Eaters did not find anything related to the ring in this old house.

They didn't even find a tiny ring.

"This is impossible! The owner said that the thing is here and it must be there! Look for it again! You must find it!"

Peter seemed anxious.

He knew Voldemort's methods and if the tasks assigned were not completed, Peter would not even dare to think about them.

The Death Eaters searched around the house again according to his orders.

This time they moved all the furniture outside the house and carefully inspected every inch of the land in the house. They didn't even spare two mouse holes, but they didn't find any of them.

These Death Eaters were sure that there was no black stone ring in the room.

Peter was completely scared this time.

If he didn't find out, let alone the Dark King's side, he would have enough to bear the crazy woman Bella's side after he went back.

She doesn't care whether there is a ring in this room or not. She only cares about the Dark King's mission not being completed.

At that time, Peter will be cut off by her.

"Impossible! The master said that there must be something here!"

Peter himself went through all the furniture he moved out, and then searched every inch of the house alone, but the same result was still the same.

Malfoy was very calm at this time. After all, he was really unlucky. The unlucky one was Peter, which was a task assigned to him by the Dark King.

But he was not gloating and just watched like this. The Dark King got angry but no matter who was, he might be involved.

"The master will not make any mistakes. Since he said there is the ring in this room, there must be one here."

First, he stood firm in his political position that his master was right, and then Malfoy carefully analyzed the possibility of this matter.

"Since the ring was originally in this room, we didn't find it now, it means someone took it away before us."

Peter looked at him with a gaze and regarded Malfoy as his only hope.

"You mean the trace you saw on the floor before? It was the thing that left that trace stole the ring!"

Malfoy did not answer Peter's question.

He looked at the scattered muggle cottages in the distance and said softly.

"We need to know more about this."

Without letting Peter and Malfoy do it themselves, the Death Eater soon caught a Muggle from a family closest to Gunter's old house.

Malfoy stared at the Muggle whose soul-snatching spell had been cast and whose eyes became dull, with unconcealed disgust.

"Has anyone else ever come in this room?"

Then the middle-aged man shook his head mechanically and replied.

"No, no one has entered here."

"It's not necessarily a human being. Have you ever seen anything else coming in?"

The middle-aged man thought silently for a long time

"...A year ago, there was a big, thick snake. I saw it crawling into this room..."
