The Finale: The Moonless Moon (two chapters in one, today

"Click, click", the regular sound of footsteps, in the empty corridor.

The long corridor, the wooden walls are ancient and old, covered with traces of the mottled years. The copper oil lamps are embedded on the walls. Under the dim lights, they are shining with a green luster. The oil lamps are arranged one by one, extending back along the corridor until the darkness at the end of the sight.

The wooden floor is as old as the walls. The paint has no longer been shiny under the passage of time, but the surface is still wiped clean. When you step on it gently, the squeaking sound echoes in the windowless corridor, which further highlights the silence around.

Shuer was walking in this corridor, always maintaining a uniform frequency, taking the same distance at each step, and maintaining calmness from beginning to end.

"Click, creak."

The long corridor finally came to an end. Shuer pushed open the black wooden door at the end of the corridor without any pause. The moment the wooden door was pushed open, his eyes suddenly became clear.

Behind the door is an extremely spacious square hall, which is even enough to accommodate hundreds of people dancing inside. One side of the hall is not a wooden wall, but a whole floor-to-ceiling window and a floor-to-ceiling window that is dozens of meters wide, allowing you to see the scenery outside the window.

Outside the window is the dark night, the endless night sky, and in the middle of the night sky in front of the window, a huge dark red moon hangs high, dyeing everything in the hall a faint scarlet red.

"In this world, I believe that only here can mortals see the true appearance of the dark moon. Of course, mortals have no chance to come." Looking up at the dark moon in the sky, Shuer seemed to be fascinated by the scarlet moonlight. "No matter how many times you look at it, the originally lightless dark moon will always be so beautiful when it shines."

Of course, Shuer was not talking to himself. In addition to him, there was another person in the hall, at least, he looked like a human.

The huge hall was empty and had almost no furnishings. Only in front of the floor-to-ceiling window was a delicate white tea table and two opposite seats. On the tea table, there was a strong black tea brewing in the transparent teapot. The dark red tea water emitted a strong black tea aroma. Even if you stood far away from the door, you could float into Xiu'er's nose.

On one side of the tea table, there was a woman sitting. Her black dress set off her slim figure. Her delicate feet were exposed, as white as ivory, and her long black hair was scattered down like a waterfall, dragging it to the clean ground. Her hair was black and thick, as smooth as silk.

She couldn't see her face clearly because she was looking up at the sky with her back to Shuer, and seemed to be so fascinated that she had been motionless, like a delicate doll.

"Would I be honored to be able to witness such amazing beauty again?" Shuer gentlemanly filled the lady with black tea, ambiguously describing it, not knowing whether it was the sky or the existence in front of him, "But I remember that I should have been entangled by your peddler until midnight and finally fell asleep successfully, right? As a high god, are you so bored that you like to pull believers into your kingdom of gods in your dreams, the great lady of Dark Moon, Lord Luna?"

The woman did not answer, as if she hadn't heard him at all, staring at the dark moon in the sky.

"Okay, no matter what, thank you, Lord Dark Moon." After closing his eyes and tasting the black tea, Shuer sighed softly and whispered, "The architectural style that only exists in that world, the excellent black tea processed by the unique craftsmanship of my hometown, including this familiar floor-to-ceiling window, I have accepted the kindness that I want to give my hometown feeling."

"Thank you." Ms. Dark Moon spoke for the first time, her voice was cold, just like the moonlight in the night sky.

"Oh? I thought the second time I was pulled in was to scold me. What did you thank me?" Shur paused with a teacup, "Thank you for alliance with Lisa and the Temple of Water? Or do I thank you for expanding the reputation of the Darkmoon Church without violating your doctrine?"

"Thank you for taking good care of that child. Although I favor her, she would probably..." Shaking her head in a humanized manner, the cold goddess whispered, "There is also things that Anika should thank you, but you have to be careful of Anika. The thing she wants you to do is harder than you imagined. For thousands of years, even gods have wanted to hand it over to a mortal. She has been a little too much this time."

"So you know this too." Xiu'er's eyes shrank. He didn't intend to repay the goddess now. "It seems that your news is more informative than I thought."

"Gods know everything." Luna sighed, "This is not just a empty word."

"Ha, is that true?" Shur smiled gently, but the words said were far less gentle. "So why should we discuss why the projection and the big rift have appeared more and more frequently in recent years? Or discuss why the temple of the gods was suddenly established, what are you worried about?"

Luna did not answer Shuer's question with a very sharp connotation, but just turned around, picked up the black tea served by Shuer, and took a sip like him.

Although she had turned back, she still couldn't see her face clearly, and her vision was blurred. Mortals could never look directly at the glory of God, even those who were favored by the gods were no exception.

"Ha, sorry, I lost my composure." Xiuer bowed slightly and said apologetically, "Actually you don't need to thank me. I said last time I met, I gave me my life, so it's natural to serve you. Even if I give my life back, it's nothing more, let alone this little thing. If I thank me for this little thing, you wouldn't have to save me at the beginning, right?"

"You should indeed apologize." Luna stood up, walked slowly to the window, and looked up at the dark moon in the sky again, "not because you lost your composure, but because you never really believed me."

"Huh?" Shuer raised his eyebrows at the goddess's back, "You mean..."

"You have never believed it. I saved you, and there was no additional requirement at all." Luna said slowly, "If you save, you will save it. There is no need or no need."

"No?" The smile on his face froze. Shuer frowned and raised his tone slightly. "You mean, when you saved me, you actually had no requirements for me, and didn't want me to do anything?"

"Yes, no." The goddess never turned around and responded affirmatively, "To be precise, I only have one requirement, which is to take good care of the child, but I don't need to mention this requirement anymore. You cannot give up your bond with that child. Without my request, you will also let her grow up healthily and happily and arrange her future life. Therefore, I have no requirements for you anymore, and you can do what you want."

"Ha, hehe, hehe, this is really an interesting thing." Facing the gods, Shur finally couldn't maintain his usual calmness. His face was slightly gloomy and he whispered, "Let's estimate your current situation, how long can you last before you sleep? Ten years? Twenty years? In recent years, your situation has been ups and downs. You can hide this from Lisa, but you can't hide it from me. Haha, you have reached the verge of sleep. No, not just sleep. After you sleep, it won't take many years. When the last person who remembers your name disappears, your existence will be erased, and your real name will disappear in the temple of the gods from now on."

"But what did you do? That time four years ago, you consumed a lot of the most precious divine power and pulled me from the projection world. This is a counter-space barrier. This behavior is enough to speed up your sleep."

"Faced with this situation, you want me to believe that you did things four years ago without purpose and you had no requirement from me? Tell me that you can do whatever I want? Do you really think that mortals can deceive at will?"

"Pour anger to the gods is a very dangerous behavior. Are you sure you are ready to bear the price?" The goddess's voice was faint, not only wasn't scared by Shur's sudden outbreak at all, but she brought a hint of warmth.

"Huh, sorry, my world is materialized." The cold voice dissipated for half of Shuer's sudden anger. He sighed helplessly, "We are full of respect for the gods that only exist in the legend, but keep a distance."

"So, in your world, is the way to show respect to it is to scold and threaten in person?" Luna kept staring at the red moon outside the window, "It's really a unique habit."

"Ahem, you know, customs and habits are always a little different. I occasionally express my respect in this way."

"Haha, you know, every time the child prays to me, he always says that my brother is, caring about her, and being reliable. Whenever he expresses his feelings, he has to use nonsense to cover up." Luna said leisurely, "Can I think that your sudden anger is because you are worried about me, and when you are angry, I don't care about your existence, and your mean words that go against your nature are just to cover up your concern?"

"Ahem, I'm not that idle." Shure blocked his own vision with a teacup without any trace, and made a series of dry coughs. After deliberately drinking half a cup of black tea with slow movements, he returned to his original grace and calmness, and said calmly, "To be fair, you are very good to me. At the beginning, you protected my soul so that my soul would not be torn apart by the repulsive force of the plane. Then through Lisa's hand, I repaired my body and soul. These are serious consumption for the few divine power you have left. Moreover, in the past few years, you have used the form of transactions to allow me to use your divine power and become your priest. It can be said that you have done enough for me."

"I am very grateful to you. It doesn't mean that I believe everything you said, at least what you said just now, I don't believe it at all. You paid the price to save me, but I didn't need me to do anything? If you were me, would you believe it?"

"I can." The sentence blocked all the subsequent words of Sul. The speechless Sul made the cold goddess chuckle, "Give you a test, my priest, my core doctrine, and my characteristics, you should still remember it. This is the basic knowledge of believers."

"Oh, silent dedication, silent dedication, unknown love." Shur sighed, "so I can't really believe in you, because I really don't believe in this kind of unreasonable dedication."

"You can't believe in me, are you sure? Do you think the gods can violate the rules at will and let mortals borrow their divine power like a transaction? Pavatiga has never been like this, because there are some rules that even the gods must obey." Luna sat down again, watching Shur fill her teacup again like a gentleman, and her cold voice was a little softer, "If you really feel that you can't accept my teachings deep down, I hope you can answer a question."

"When you saved that child four years ago, were you sure you could beat those people? Are you sure you won't die? If you can't be sure, just pretend you didn't see it. Why do you rush forward to save someone? And, in the end, you were covered in scars and dying, but the child was not injured at all. Why is that?"

Shuer blocked his vision with a teacup again, shutting his mouth and saying nothing.

"If you treat yourself immediately, although the chance of survival is not 100%, there is also a great possibility of survival. You cannot deny this. However, although the child's narrative is messy and you didn't understand the situation at all, you still barely concluded that she would be in danger of life when she stayed there. Then you used a special method to force the wound to stop bleeding. Yes, it was the method you used a month ago. He dragged his body and ran nearly 200 kilometers overnight and took her to the exit position in time, so that his injuries worsened and there was no hope of healing. Please explain to me, what do you hope she will meet your requirements?"

"Good tea." Shuer had a stern face, as if immersed in the mellowness of black tea. "This cup of black tea tastes really good."

"In the final process of separation, when you held the child, your soul was already affected by the repulsion force, but you didn't know that the child, as a resident of this plane, would not be rejected. So, you were worried that she could not handle it yourself, so you hugged her and kept moving forward. The soul began to break and didn't stop. What do you want to ask for at this time?"

"I've been sleeping for a long time." Shuer suddenly stood up and said seriously, "I think it's time for me to get up, goodbye."

"Ha, well, you really should go back." Luna sat dignifiedly on the chair, holding the still steaming teacup. "I came to you this time, in addition to thanking you, mainly to tell you that I did not want to interfere in your behavior in the afternoon."

"I can guess." Just as the person who was arguing with the god just now was not him at all, Shur said as if nothing had happened, "She just wanted to get that water heart, so she came to you directly, and she should have sweared."

"Well." The goddess's hazy shadow nodded, "Wendy can believe it. You can judge whether her believers are trustworthy. Anika is not trustworthy. She is not evil and never lie, but her mind is unpredictable. You must be more careful when contacting her."

"Can I see this as the gods' concern for mortals?"

"No, the gods are just worried that if something happens to a mortal, no one will fulfill her request." No one could have thought that Ms. Dark Moon, who has always been cold, occasionally has a joking interest.

"Very good, I'm awake." Convinced that the battle he said was not good at taking advantage of, Shuer turned around and left without dragging himself on. However, just as he opened the door, he suddenly stopped and stood pressing the wooden door for a long time before he asked with his head down, "Are you gods so cunning?"

"Huh?" Luna's blurry image tilted her head.

"You said you had no purpose in saving me, and you didn't need me to do anything, so I almost believed it. But... Although I don't know why I entered the projection world, I think I shouldn't be the first. Over the past tens of millions of years, there will always be a few unlucky guys who will be projected into the alien projection of Pavatiga like me."

"You are involved because at the moment when the projection space in your hometown is formed, you just stepped into the boundary of the projection space. The projection space failed to form sooner or later, and the projection space was formed, and you couldn't get in." Luna nodded, "The conditions are very harsh, but you are indeed not the first one."

"That's good." Shur said with a wry smile, "So, have all these people been rescued? Will the gods spend their divine power to rescue them? Don't talk about other gods, have you done this?"

This time it was Luna who said nothing.

"You really have no demands on me, and I finally believe it this time." Shur sighed, "From my behavior towards Lisa, you have calculated that I will take the initiative to do what you hope for. You don't need to make any requests at all. Silent efforts, haha, this is the other side of the doctrine."

"Good tea." Luna completely repeated Shuer's actions just now.

"The key is that even if I have thought of this, I will continue to do it, and I am willing to do it." Shur pushed open the door and finally left a self-deprecating sentence, "The gap between mortals and gods is indeed insurmountable, at least in terms of vision."

"Ha, you're still wrong." Leaving alone in the empty hall, Luna savored the black tea like a human. It took me a long time to say to herself, "I admit that I actually have requirements for you, but it's not what you are doing now. No, to be precise, my request for you is to do what you want to do according to your heart, not for me, but for... everyone. Silent love has never had another side. You just look at it from the perspective of an individual, so you can't feel it, but you ignored it. I haven't said that my love is only for individuals and races."

Standing up, as Luna moved, the hall started from the far edge, and was swallowed by the void bit by bit, and the tables, chairs, and tea cups gradually disappeared. With a gentle pace, Luna walked to the floor-to-ceiling window that had not yet disappeared. This time, she did not look up at her dark moon, but looked down.

Below the floor-to-ceiling window is not the real ground, but a deep void. In the void, a water-blue planet is quietly suspended, representing the countless planets in the Kingdom of God, turning silently around it.
