Chapter 6 New Base

"Ao~~~~", amid the dying cry, the four-meter-high giant beast fell down with a bang, and deep blue blood gushed out from the hollows as thick as a dozen arms on his body. The blood soon flowed over the ground, forming a small puddle. A group of flying insects with big fists quickly gathered and hovered over the blood pool, making an annoying buzzing sound.

"Hu", a flame suddenly came and swept across the blood pool. Under the high temperature, the insect swarm directly carbonized into powder before there was any reaction, leaving only a pungent burnt smell in the air.

The sound of metal collision sounded, and two upper body human-shaped metal puppets with hemispherical lower body circled out from behind a pile of stones. One of them was still steaming at the front of the right arm, and it was obvious that the flames were spraying out from there. The two metal humans swayed towards the corpse. In front of them, more than thirty metal puppets in the form of spiders were stuck to the ground and crawled quickly. Before the human figure reached the position of the corpse, the spider puppets had arrived first. The ends of the two forelimbs of these metal spiders had at some point turned into two high-speed rotating circular saws. The tough skin and thick muscles of the giant beast were easily cut open like butter under the hot knife in front of the circular saw.

The metal spider skillfully cut the giant beast into pieces, but only selected a part of the best quality outer skin and put it into the storage cabinet in the body. The remaining part was thrown far away within a kilometer or two around. After doing all this, the puppets gathered again and began to move along some fixed route in arc.

"Boom", the two arms of the human-shaped puppet, which turned into weapons, suddenly raised to the sky, but they quickly put them down again and resumed their normal movement. Then, a shuttle dragged its long tail flames across the sky and flew towards a fixed target. There is no doubt that this is the vehicle that the volunteers rode. Through the display equipment, the captains saw the scene of patrolling puppets hunting giant beasts. It was exciting, novel, and excited. All kinds of moods were combined, which made the captains breathe a lot. Although they were still trying to maintain their restraint, Shuer seemed to be no different from the wilderness and barbarians who were forced to be calm after entering the city.

From the perspective of the sky, we can see that this is a wasteland with sparse vegetation and wide views. The surface is relatively dry, but there are still several fixed water sources. Around the water source, there are a large number of wild beasts, and the loud howls of wild beasts can be heard day and night.

In the middle of the wasteland, opposite the shuttle, a giant humanoid puppet nearly ten meters high stood there. The puppet was motionless, as if it was sleeping, but the scanning system inside its body was working continuously, and the two live ammunition weapons on its shoulders were also slowly moving.

This is a giant puppet called Thunder Hammer by the Brown Star. The main energy cannon on the chest can penetrate the tail armor of the battleship, and even the front armor can cause considerable damage. Shull and the others have conducted confrontation tests before, well, and no one is going to try again. For example, the giant beast face on this planet will probably be directly gasified under the energy cannon, and there will be no residue left. The two high-speed machine guns on the shoulder of the Thunder Hammer are one of the few live ammunition weapons in the standard equipment of metal puppets. The rate of fire of dozens to hundreds of rounds per minute is enough to smash a hill-like solid rock into pieces within a few seconds.

Within a radius of ten kilometers centered on it, hundreds of mechanical spiders and dozens of ball combat humanoids were patrolling crosswise, ensuring that no dangerous creature could approach the foot of the Thunder Hammer, because at its feet, a metal platform with several independent buildings distributed around it had been built, with orange-yellow crosses painted on the platform, which looked particularly conspicuous from the sky. The outermost periphery of these buildings was separated from the outside by a row of metal columns as fences. However, if you look closely, you will find that it was not an ordinary metal column. The protective energy was emitted from the columns, intertwined with each other, forming a hemispherical light curtain, buckled the complex inside.

The color of the light curtain is very dim and is almost difficult to detect with the naked eye, as if it is useless. However, when small insects fly by, they can be seen. They are like hitting some elastic barrier. Once they hit the light curtain, they are bounced away. Medium-sized creatures like humans are not affected. In other words, the resistance of the light curtain cannot constitute an obstacle to their strength. With a little force, they can break through the light curtain and enter the interior.

The shuttle hovered over the camp for several times and lowered its height, then aimed at the platform marked with a cross and fell vertically. It seemed that it was reminded by the sound of the shuttle. The two captains who arrived first met out of the building next to them.

As soon as they stopped, the roar of the engine equipment had not even dissipated, the cabin door was forced to open. A group of captains rushed out of the shuttle like a charge, and did not bother to say hello to the two greeters. They passed by them directly. They rushed to the brown land at the first time, stepped on the solid ground, jumping around like crazy, and some even picked up a handful of slightly moist soil and sniffed it greedily in front of their noses.

"His Excellency Shuer." When he turned around, he found that the two old men, Nina and Ryan, were not as crazy as others, but followed him and Moria. "Please don't blame them for their loss of composure. Most of us captains have never stepped on the real surface. Haha, from birth to death, we have always been on the spaceship, so we are so excited now. This excitement is not only because of the possibility of stopping and escaping, but also because stepping onto the ground, it is the long-cherished wish of most captains."

"Oh?" Shuer raised his eyebrows, "According to your skills, it is not difficult to get down to the ground every time you trim and replenish supplies in the galaxy. Why don't you go?"

"This is a regulation, which has been maintained for thousands of years." Old Man Ryan shook his head and sighed, "The possibility of accidents on the ground is much higher than on the spacecraft. The captain's death due to accidents and no new heirs will appear. It will be a very troublesome thing, so it is better to avoid it as much as possible. And more importantly, everyone comes from the ground after all, but they have been wandering all their lives. Once they land, their fighting spirit will be wiped out. Therefore, from the beginning of the sleeping plan, there are hard regulations between the captains. Unless there are some special circumstances or encounters a crisis of the highest level, they will never be allowed to land on the planet."

"Okay." Shure sighed, "No wonder those who had performed this way before were also like this. I was still wondering what it was to roll on the ground suddenly."
