Chapter 571: Kidney Machine Concept Edition

"Smartphone?"

Flipped the Apple concept machine in his hand, Duke leaned against the chair and looked at Steve Jobs opposite him, "Is this the main product of Apple's next generation?"

Steve Jobs nodded. Perhaps there was more interest in Duke. The businessman was in a state of mind. His attitude seemed much better than before. He smiled and said, "How do you feel?"

"It's pretty good." Duke placed it on the table between him and Jobs, "I believe that in the future, it will be popular all over the world."

"It's inevitable." Steve Jobs was full of confidence.

Although it has not been used before, Duke is sure that this is basically the first generation of kidney machines. It is just that Jobs means that the mobile phone is still in the experimental improvement stage and is still early to go public.

Of course, if this phone is on the market, Duke would rather continue to use his Nokia custom version. Although this smartphone has collected all the most advanced related technologies today, it is far inferior to any counterfeit smartphone he has ever seen.

According to Steve Jobs, the iPhone generation only supports 2G network connections provided by At&T, which are easy to lose packets and disconnect. The key is that the Internet speed is like a turtle, which is comparable to the torture of dial-up Internet access back then.

"Duke, you're very good at science fiction movies and are always full of fantasy ideas," Jobs asked suddenly, "What else do you think can be improved on this phone?"

Seeing that Jobs had a rare question about this, Duke couldn't help but frown and recalled for a long time before saying, "Steve, I think it's possible to put the re on this smartphone."

Re is part of Re, and is a service software for many Apple devices. It allows users to browse and download some applications specially developed for Apple devices from Re. Users can purchase paid items and free items, allowing the application to be downloaded directly to their Apple terminal, including games, calendars, translation programs, galleries and many practical software.

Jobs' eyes lit up immediately. But he was not too excited and continued to ask, "Is there any?"

"This concept machine cannot replace too many backgrounds, only the black set by the system." Duke has a rare opportunity to show off in front of Jobs. Moreover, he is the major shareholder of Apple. The better the kidney machine is sold in the future, the more profit he will make. "The system does not have the copy-paste function, and cannot use wireless methods to connect to the computer. Without navigation, the pixels of the camera are too low to record videos directly..."

Duke said, and Jobs nodded, "I really didn't expect Duke, you actually have such a deep understanding of mobile phones. What you proposed is indeed the lack of concept phones and the technology that needs improvement in the future."

"The future?" Duke was slightly surprised.

"Of course it's the future," Steve Jobs said naturally, "My plan is to launch a new model every time, and then change some corresponding functions, such as we can add Re to the second-generation machine, third-generation machine to increase entertainment functions, and fourth-generation machine to completely update the camera..."

He spread his hands and said, "Only when the functions are constantly improving, users will pay for Apple's products. One launch is definitely not in Apple's interests."

Hearing this, Duke couldn't help but nodded heavily. Steve Jobs is worthy of being a businessman and is definitely a model for him to learn.

When he left, Duke originally wanted to take away a concept machine, but he didn't need it himself. It was good to give it to Scarlett Johnson as a toy, but Steve Jobs sternly rejected it.

Duke didn't care either. This is a product in the development stage after all, and confidentiality is a must.

With emotion about Steve Jobs's businessman's true nature, Duke returned to Los Angeles from San Francisco and then became nervous filming again. In the days when he was away, the crew did not stop working and was still operating normally. Anna Prinz temporarily took over Duke's position and controlled the shooting progress.

Even after Duke arrived, she still took a group to shoot, and the two-line shooting ensured the crew's progress and allowed enough time for complex post-production.

In the studio, Robert Downey Jr. was wearing a motion capture device and jumped off the three-foot-high platform and landed heavily on the black mat. Duke frowned after watching all this through the monitor.

"Rob..." he shouted to the camera, "Do it again."

Robert Downey Jr. nodded, walked onto the stage again, waited for the record to start, jumped off again, and stood on the mat at the same time with his feet.

Duke did not look at the monitor this time, his eyes were staring at Robert Downey Jr. When he saw his feet landing on the ground, he finally found the problem.

"Jimmy, Robert." Duke raised his hand and called the male lead and the action guide over, "Let's have a briefing."

Jimmy Carter has been in charge of action design, knowing that Duke is not satisfied with the scene he designed, and asked, "Is something wrong?"

"Don't you think the way Robert landed from the flight is too ordinary?" Duke pointed to Robert Downey Jr., "Jimmy, Iron Man jumped directly to the ground, it's too uncharacteristic."

Robert Downey Jr. scratched his head and said deliberately in a very stinky tone, "I think what Duke said makes sense. Such a way of appearance cannot show my handsome and cool side at all."

"Rob..." Jimmy Carter pointed at him, probably because he was often angry with this live-action word, so he simply ignored him and asked Duke, "Give me some tips, I am good at designing according to your requirements, but I have a headache about conceptual things."

"Every superhero has his own unique way of playing." Duke thought for a moment and said, "In "Iron Man", Tony Stark always appears in a flying state after he becomes Iron Man. Jimmy, what you need to do most is to distinguish Iron Man's flying method from other superheroes, and the audience's first reaction to him is - this is Superman or Peter Pan."

Duke has always been responsible for these conceptual matters. He explained, "Iron Man has no superpowers; he is just wrapped in a heavy but invulnerable high-tech product. Superman takes off quickly but likes to land slowly. Iron Man takes off very slowly because his jacket is heavy, but he lands quickly and is accompanied by dull sounds."

Over the years, Jimmy Carter has accumulated enough experience. After hearing Duke say this, he immediately came up with a solution. "When it comes to landing normally, Iron Man can also slow down and land. When he appears on the battlefield, he will jump from the air in a thunderous manner, which will produce a huge impact force. Tony Stark needs to use one knee to reduce the impact force, and this method is also cool enough."

Robert Downey Jr. immediately agreed, "Good idea."

After saying that, he and Jimmy Carter both looked at Duke. The two of them knew very well that the only one who could make the decision was Duke.

"This is really different for Iron Man from other traditional heroes that have emerged, and it is also a good starting point for us."

This problem was solved. Duke temporarily changed the shooting plan and first changed the scene to shoot other scenes to leave enough practice time for Jimmy Carter and Robert Downey Jr. to practice. Although this is just a trivial small action, it also requires a lot of repeated practice to achieve the shooting effect.

Of course, this only solves some problems, and there are other problems.

For example, Iron Man is based on the ground, and he needs natural movement. This aspect is not only about shooting, but also through post-production special effects.

Industrial Light and Magic worked closely with Vita Studio. According to Duke's request, he was determined to produce a large number of CGs without fear of death. While filming, he nervously produced a large number of key frame animations for the movie, as well as some moving forward motion capture animations.

As Duke said, those superheroes who can succeed on the screen all have their typical characteristics, with signature moves that can be remembered by the audience, such as Superman standing with his chest and fists on his hips, and his cloak fluttering in the wind.

But Duke's style for Iron Man is more organic. Although he wants to give Iron Man a magical movement speed, he doesn't want to distract the audience from the fake comic structure. Instead, he manages to insert poses into various movements to enhance the impression he leaves.

There is a scene where the original special effects have been completed after shooting. Iron Overlord flew back to attack Iron Man, and Iron Man grabbed his arms and jumped into the air with a rocket jet launcher.

This set of actions is much stronger than letting him put on the poke in place. There is also a critical moment when he was in the sky, he quickly raised his fist to fight back at the attack scene of the Iron Overlord. In that frame of posture, Iron Man was just in the middle of the camera.

Some problems in Iron Man's action scenes were solved, and the shooting progress gradually increased. Before Christmas, Duke completed all the action scenes, and the rest were some fragmented shots. After spending the Christmas holiday with his mother and Scarlett Johnson in New York, he moved to work again.

The earlier the shooting is completed, the more time left for post-production. According to the plan, the video must be released in the summer next year.

The remaining shots are all Tony Stark's verbal and relatively funny scenes.

Just like an actor, the director also has aspects that he is not good at. Duke has never been good at shooting funny scenes, but Robert Downey Jr. himself is an expert in this field. Under his leadership, several actors began to perform on the spot, and Duke was happy to select suitable materials from it.

For example, a rivalry between Robert Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams.

Rachel's role as Pepper Pots complains that he has been flying around the United States to buy a luxury home for Tony Stark.

"After you buy the next manor, I can write your name on the gate of the manor, and it is called Boci Manor."

Hearing this, Rachel McAdams had a sudden inspiration and said, "It's better to write it in the room book."

During the last period of filming, the crew was rarely filled with a cheerful atmosphere. After the New Year, when 2006 arrived, the filming of "Iron Man" was officially completed. (To be continued.)
