Chapter 264 Provoking the White Lotus Sect

In order to solve the hidden dangers of the Qing Dynasty attacking behind the scenes when the Ming Dynasty destroyed Thailand and Myanmar countries, under the instruction of Zhu Haitao, the Jinyiwei and the army cooperated with each other and prepared to give the Qing Dynasty a big surprise in Hubei.

No matter which dynasty the White Lotus Sect was defined as a cult by the court. Even in the Ming Dynasty, a dynasty that started with the Ming Dynasty, when Zhu Yuanzhang became the King of Wu himself, he had already banned the spread of the Ming Dynasty. By the Qing Dynasty, the White Lotus Sect became the spiritual call for the Han people to resist the Qing Dynasty's rule.

In the late Qianlong period, the land was highly concentrated, and a large number of refugees gathered in the Nanshan and Bashan old forest areas at the junction of Sichuan, Chu and Shaanxi to make a living, with millions of people. Due to the rapid population growth and serious land annexation, hungry people appeared in Henan, Anhui and Jiangxi. The border areas of Sichuan, Chu and Shaanxi provinces were a primitive forest area, and they have always been a place for refugees to gather away from the land. In addition, the feudal ruling class was extravagant, corrupt officials were rampant, people were dissatisfied and rebellious, and the propaganda of the White Lotus Sect also increased the content of resistance to reality. In the 37th and 38th year of Qianlong

(1772, 1773), hundreds of thousands of hungry people from Sichuan and Chu provinces came here for food. In addition, about one million refugees from Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi and other provinces, there were a large amount of wasteland. They were fed to the Sichuan-Chu border in the primeval forest. The soil was barren and the climate was harsh. In addition to building hangars and ploughing the land, refugees also had to be employed by wooden foy factories, iron factories, and paper factories to obtain meager wages to survive. They were not only exploited by landlords and factory owners, but also blackmailed by servants and sued for sues, and life was extremely difficult. The refugees in despair became the target of the spread of the White Lotus Sect.

In the 40th year of Qianlong (1775), Liu Song, the leader of the Hunyuan Sect, the tribe of the Bailian Sect in Henan, failed the uprising. His disciples Liu Zhixie, Song Zhiqing and others continued to preach in the Jiaqing emperors of Sichuan, Chu, Shaanxi and other places. In the 58th year, Liu Zhixie was arrested in Henan and escaped. The Qing court ordered Dasuozhou and County to arouse public grievances. The White Lotus Sect called for "officials to force the people to rebel" and received support from the majority of peasants, and the religious people developed rapidly.

In the 60th year of Qianlong, the heads of the White Lotus Sect in various parts of Hubei Province, and the secret merchants jointly initiated a joint incident on the "Chen year, Chen month, Chen day" (the tenth day of the first month of the first year of Jiaqing), and asked the believers to prepare a knife and gunpowder. The rapid development of the White Lotus Sect and its anti-Qing content caused serious uneasiness in the Qing government, so they ordered a large-scale search of the White Lotus Sect. A large number of the believers, the believers were arrested and killed, and local officials carried out extortion in the name of catching cults. "Whether they were learning or not, they were not willing to give money, and they falsely punished the cults." The leaders of various places then used the slogan "officials forced the people to rebel" and called on the believers to rise up and resist. On the seventh day of the first month of the Jiaqing year (February 15, 1796), in Yidu, Hubei, Zhijiang area

The leaders Zhang Zhengmo, Nie Jieren and others were forced to make an advance judgment due to the emergency of the government. The believers of Changyang, Laifeng, Dangyang, Zhushan and other counties followed one after another. On the tenth of March, the believers in the Xiangyang area, led by Wang Cong'er, Yao Zhifu and others, rebelled according to the original date. The various rebel armies did not belong to each other and fought each other. Their rebel armies were mostly defeated by the Qing army. Only the Xiangyang rebel army adopted the strategy of mobile combat, and its strength grew rapidly and became the main force of the Hubei rebel army. Under the influence of the Bailian Uprising in Hubei, the White Lotus Rebel scholars in Sichuan also responded one after another. In September, the Dazhou rebel leader Xu Tiande, Dongxiang (now Xuanhan, Sichuan), the rebel leader Wang Sanhuai, Leng Tianlu and others all led the uprising.

Although the situation is different in this history, the population pressure at the junction of Sichuan, Chu and Shaanxi is still particularly high. Moreover, due to the outbreak of the Ming and Qing Wars, more refugees flocked to this place.

Although the Qing government had noticed the situation in this place before and attacked the White Lotus Sect, the White Lotus Sect was already everywhere, and the corruption of the Qing government led to the situation in the local area even more corrupt.

Therefore, Zhu Haitao sent the Jinyiwei to put some seasonings here, and many weapons appeared here every day. Moreover, the leaders of the White Lotus Sect often met with the Jinyiwei staff in some secret places.

On July 10, 1785, on a hot day, in a secret wooden house in the dense forest of Bashan Mountain in northern Sichuan, a man named Liu Deguang was discussing things with Wang Cong'er, Qi Lin, Liu Zhixi and others.

Liu Deguang is a hundred households of the Jinyiwei. His purpose of coming here is to support the actions of the White Lotus Sect.

"Don't forget that our Emperor Zhu's Ming Dynasty was invaded because of the Ming Cult. This Ming Cult is a predecessor of the White Lotus Sect, so the Ming Dynasty supports you to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and establish a bright world!" Liu Deguang said.

Several leaders of the White Lotus Sect stared at Liu Deguang with bright eyes, listening to him saying big words: "The Ming Dynasty wants to expel the barbarians and restore China, and naturally, the heroes of the world need the help of the heroes. The fierce battle between the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty had consumed a lot of power, so you need help. After the event, you will be granted the title of marquis and prime ministers."

"I am a marquis and a prime minister? Your Emperor Zhu really offered such a price?" Qi Lin asked.

"Yes, our Emperor has always kept our promises. Who among those who have been appointed as marquis and ministers in Southeast Asia has not helped him at critical moments?" Liu Deguang said.

"This is true. Even the pirate Zheng Yisao from Nanyang and Wang Nangxian who was in the Guizhou uprising have the title of Duke and Marquis in the Ming Dynasty." Liu Zhixie said lightly.

Liu Zhixie is the leader of the White Lotus Sect. He also traveled around the world and knew that Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian were basically the territory of the Tiandihui, and their White Lotus Sect basically had no market there.

"Two women can actually have the title of Duke and Marquis?" Wang Cong'er was a little surprised. Although she was a chivalrous woman, men's superiority and women's inferiority have long been popular in this era. It is impossible for women to get the title of Duke and Marquis in her eyes.

"Why can't it? During the Chongzhen period of Tianqi, Qin Liangyu inherited the title. Your Majesty just followed the old rules. I think you are also a man who is as good as a man. If you lead the people to cause trouble, your Majesty will grant you the title no less than that of Zheng Yisao and Wang Nangxian!" Liu Deguang said.

"Is that so good? That's really great!" Wang Cong'er said. She kept thinking that she could accompany Qi Lin to conquer the world and become a royal wife, but Zhu Haitao could promise her a position as a prince, which made her even more moved.

"We, the Ming Dynasty, support your uprising and can also supply your guns, cannons and ammunition, but you must make a big deal. If the Qing Dynasty rule is overthrown, there is nothing to do. At worst, we can just build the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Anyway, everyone is trying to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and restore the Han Dynasty." Liu Deguang said again.

He just said casually that even if these White Lotus Sect really entered the imperial capital, they would not be able to defeat the Ming Dynasty.
